James Kaufman,
World News
Report today.
Ladies and gentlemen,
we've had a very strong 6.4 earthquake near Easter Island.
Not a lot of information on this because it was offshore.
It is on a plate tectonic boundary,
and that plate actually goes right into the area of Chile
that had either the largest or the second largest earthquake on record.
So that's a very, very important fault there.
And, well, that's a lot of pressure headed towards Chile.
A 6.4 at a default depth of 10 kilometers.
Obviously, it's deeper than that.
And it is on that plate tectonic boundary that goes right into the area
where we had the largest, I believe, earthquake in recorded history.
It's a very busy day.
They said there was extreme pressure on the New Madrid Fault today,
and you can see that there's been a couple
of quakes just in the last moments,
although they're not very sizable here.
They are 2.3, 2.4.
We also have another quake,
which we've seen before, up in West Virginia.
We still have Mercury and Venus in front of us.
Not directly, but very close.
and we have the three gas giants,
or three of the gas giants, behind us,
and geomagnetic connections to most all those planets.
All right, taking a look around the globe,
there are several 5.0s and larger here.
As you can see, there's one in India, the Philippines, a 5.4,
5.3 in Indonesia another 5.7
another 5.7 another 5.4 a 5.1
so we are very busy especially in the
east over here and we have a 5.4 down the Sandwich Islands
and our large 6.4 here that we know is on
a plate tectonic boundary
so i will put them all on so you can see how busy we are really
we are extremely busy we have all of the Aegean
Sea just going off and that's a real spot of
interest to us we also have two awakening volcanoes
in Iceland several awakening volcanoes around
Italy and Greece two more awakening volcanoes near
the Azores Islands but there's just a lot
of awakening volcanoes and these could all become active we would
be plus 100 but i don't believe
we've ever broken that hundred hurdle before
and had a hundred volcanoes going off at one time on
the planet but we're getting very close to having just
that taking a look at volcanoes and earthquakes
dot com uh well it's the usgs at six four default depth we
also have germany coming at six three
default depth raspberry shake coming
in at eight six zero default depth let's get some detailed
information on this all right moving over
to volcano discovery i call it a six four it's
It could also be USGS information just southeast of Easter Island.
All right, taking a look at earthquake details,
a 6-4 default depth, 10 kilometers, 83 seismic stations.
Pick this up.
The shake intensity was a 7 here,
so very strong on the shake map, especially near the epicenter.
Only one report of someone feeling
the earthquake 20 yards out in the middle of nowhere.
And you can see about 3.8 atomic bombs of energy were released,
so nothing to play around with.
Take a look at the shake map,
which I said came in as a 7, very, very strong.
We still only have one report of anyone feeling this earthquake,
as I'm sure it's just about in the middle of nowhere.
All right, next up, let's compare earthquake data
from different reporting agencies.
Another USGS is a 6.4, default depth.
Germany, a 6.3, default depth.
Raspberry Shake, a 6.0, default depth.
And we have the Europeans coming in at a 6.4.
They've got it at 3 kilometers of depth,
which would be just about impossible in that deep of an ocean water.
We've got Australia coming in at a 6.5,
and they're at the default depth as well.
And finally,
we have the Italians coming in at 6.2,
and they have it at 31 kilometers of depth, about 19 miles of depth,
which is more believable than any other data we've looked
at as far as the depth.
So in summary, the story
so far today is a very strong 6.4 magnitude earthquake,
at least 3.8 atomic bombs worth of energy.
on a plate tectonic boundary near Easter Island they don't have
the shake map on here but it said
it came in as a seven god bless you guys give us a thumbs up
and please share
