Billy Bush Says Carrie Ann OVERREACTED In Val Chmerkovskiy Dancing With The Stars Suspension DRAMA

In an unprecedented move, we begin today's show formally with a Hot Mike's News Alert. And for that, we turn to Lauren Mincer-Clark, producer of the program. What's happening? What happened last night? Dancing with the stars. We had our double elimination, horror movie night. You know, your favorite, a spooktacular. It actually really was. Spooktacular, my favorite word. Yep, I love it. So, we obviously, we had the double elimination, and you were right. It was Tyler and our Savannah Banana Jackson. They went home. Banana Jack. Banana Jack is gone and handsome Tyler. I will say that Jackson, he did a great job, and he actually did, and he did well scoring-wise. But again, the story, I just, I didn't think that it held. Tyler kind of seemingly knew that he was going home almost the entire night. He almost had, after his scores came out, kind of knew it. A defeatist attitude, Tyler. It's not going to get you anywhere. You're manifesting this, okay? You're putting it into the universe, and off you went. So, but then the night really kind of started with some drama because Shirley Ballas was a guest judge. Oh, yeah. And notorious for being very tough. And Julia Stiles was up first. And remember, she came off that amazing week last week because everyone was the 10 things they hate about you. She's very Julia Stiles is still riding this darling hood, you know, like she did a tribute to Heath Ledger and it was emotional and she sort of feels like this will get me at least a few weeks of love. Right. She puts a deposit in the bank here. And not only Shirley was the first person, she was she was also the first judge to even speak. So she starts harsh. There were actual gasps in the ballroom when she was talking. And then they go to the other judges and everyone was like. Oh, so it was like it was you could feel it. And she gave she hammered Julia with fours of four or it was really sad. It was it was not great. I love Shirley. She's nasty, nasty. Shirley versus sweet Julia. Look at. Wow. She's like the Simon Cowell of the ballroom. I love it. It was it was a tough one. She was great with other people and she was wonderful. But this was a real, real tough one. Yeah, that face says it all. Like what you say, girl, what? How could you do so? Okay, so but then Connor would remember we talked about this yesterday and the Jennifer Lawrence of it all. Not gonna lie, so he performed to Annabelle. His performance in their costumes were hands down the best for their performance. She actually looked like the Annabelle doll. It was terrifying, but he did do a fantastic job. Derek, as soon as they were done, made a little reference to the J-Law. He's like, I saw you in the hallway before and you paid me no mind. So it's obviously still the talk of the ballroom. And it worked. He got tens. He got his first tens. He got two tens. My daughters love Connor Wood. They, the two of them got, imagine myself, my little one lives, she just Ubers everywhere. She's at USC. She doesn't have a car right now. She's Ubering from you. I see the Uber comes up on my phone. It says going to Santa Monica. I'm like, that's a long trip downtown to Santa Monica. Why? She's going to her sisters, her older sister. So Josie and Lily were together last night and they're having the time of their lives, sipping on Modelo's and watching Dancing with the Stars. They are obsessed with cute Connor And and by the way, Jennifer Lawrence, I mean. She's, it's amazing, an A-list actress right now is riding the dancing coattails of a YouTuber to launch her hair care product. It's working for both of them, and he got tens. Good for him. And he was the very first one saved at the end of the night when they revealed who was being saved. He was the very first one saved. Even his face was shocked. It was really sweet and cute. But let's move to the headline of the night, obviously, was that Val is back. And so he was dancing with Jenna. And so he was back in the ballroom and actually at the very top of their package, when they go into the pre, you know, when they're working out for the week, he literally starts with the top saying, I'm so sorry for the chaos that was caused and that you were brought into and you did not sign up for this. And I feel awful. She said, I forgive you, and have a quick little hug, and they kind of move on with their, you know, getting ready. They have an incredible performance. Carrie Ann, Carrie Ann, so they finish their performance, Carrie Ann immediately. She says, Val, incredible choreography. And she compliments him. You can see it in his face. He's very, he takes it in stride, has amazing compliments. But this video that you're looking at right now, afterwards, there was a moment that was caught on video, hugging it out. Carrie Ann and Val. This is what got everyone. Let's unpack this video right here. Look at Val. Val, with his Baldoni man bun, and Carrie-Anne, let's acknowledge first the graciousness of Val, okay? Val, by the way, sometimes in life, we think something that on its face looks terrible, you know, eventually becomes a gift, okay? And in this case, it was terrible. He was called out by Carrie Ann for You know, perpetrating the Fresh Prince, Will Smith, you know, take my wife's name out your mouth when she was kind of ripping Val's wife, Jenna, right? So she and Val was joking and Carrie Ann took it the wrong way. I mean, ridiculously, I think. And she was like, I want to go to H.R. with this. And it was so bad. Val graciously apologized to her, Apologize to the show. They don't do an elimination that week because they have to put Val in suspension for a week, which is ridiculous. But of course, they can't do it because you got to have Val dancing with It's Val. It comes around to a double. Val's stock now goes up. He is seen apologizing to the only person he should have any apology for. And that is his partner. Hey, I'm sorry that this happened. And it's because, you know, I was involved even though he did nothing. He rises up even higher because he's such a gentleman apologizing to his partner. And then he's seen graciously hugging Carrie Ann and taking the high road. His stock goes up more and more. I mean, this guy played this perfectly. Val Chmerkovsky. And one other note is that interesting now that I'm thinking about it is remember last week she handed out Jenna the 10 while Val was out last night while she called the performance near perfection. I will say Jenna got like her shoes seemingly stuck in her dress. So there was like a teeny stumble, but it was, you know, dress related almost or wardrobe. Yeah, but she gave her a nine. So she said it was perfect. It was so wonderful. But she still didn't give that perfect 10 she gave last week. Okay. Well, she's got to, you know, that would shouldn't make it too obvious. Yes. You know what I mean? I think Carrie Ann in that case played it pretty well too. As far as after getting a gracious extension from Val, which she did, he, he was beautifully gracious. She said, thank you. And now let me do one little tweak in your performance, just for credibility's sake, if you'll allow. And he did. And OK, so they're out of that one. Excellent exit.
