BREAKING: Steelers Trade Offer LEAKED...
Oct 30, 2026
Trade reports have really been picking up
for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and folks,
Steelers trade offer has just been leaked surrounding Josh Downs.
We're going to break down exactly what the leak
was and discuss what it means going forward.
As we know, the Steelers are plotting a huge move for a wide receiver.
And folks, it's a lot crazier than people think as a bidding war
is breaking out between the Steelers and the Chiefs.
Before we get into all that, and there is a lot
of air crew commander to hit that subscribe button,
you guys have been beasts with the support.
Now, folks, I had multiple videos over the
past few days surrounding Josh Downs.
It seems at this point that Josh Downs is the number one
target for the Pittsburgh Steelers,
and Evan Sittery just revealed exactly what the Steelers
were offering. So the report is this.
The Chiefs and Steelers have both offered
day three compensation to the Colts for Josh
Downs, and he said a deal is expected
to go down after this weekend and that Indianapolis
will likely end up getting a fourth or fifth round pick.
Downs wants this too, right?
Like he requested a trade just a couple of days ago
and reporters asked him about it.
He said, I'm here today, but whatever comes my way comes my way.
And it wasn't just Evan Sitter reporting it
because a couple of days ago, there were some
rumblings about Downs.
Being traded for a 2027 third round pick
and there was rumblings that that was the actual
compensation that the Colts were looking
for but seemingly that decreased. And today Adam
Schefter even came out and revealed
the Colts told teams they want third round value and in his words
nobody was willing to do that.
And even pointed out the two the last two deadline receivers which
actually provide some pretty cool context
surrounding what the Steelers and Chiefs,
I guess for that matter, may be potentially offering.
And that was, of course, when Rashid Shaheed went
to Seattle for a fifth and a fourth,
and Jacoby Myers went to Jacksonville for a fourth and a sixth.
And obviously, both of those worked out.
Rashid Shaheed won a Super Bowl in Seattle,
didn't have a fantastic year offensively,
but was a very good special teams punt returner.
And Jacoby Myers was fantastic in Jacksonville with nearly,
I think it was 500 yards in nine
or so games.
So the Steelers aren't low-balling anyone, right?
Like a day three pick is exactly what
the market says a receiver like this costs.
And this isn't the only call Omar Khan is making.
As Adam Schefter also said today,
that Pittsburgh is burning up the phone lines.
So why Josh Downs, right?
Like we've covered him a bit on the channel,
but let's dive into him a little bit more.
Let's look at who's catching passes right now for Pittsburgh.
It's DK Metcalf and it's Jeremy Bernard.
Metcalf has 374 receiving yards.
Jeremy Bernard has 254.
Michael Pittman Jr., the guy they traded with the Colts for in March
and gave a three-year $59 million extension, is hurt.
He had 89 yards in three games, and reports came out,
I think it was yesterday or the day before,
that he's not coming back anytime soon.
Now, Roman Wilson is out as well for a while, Ben Scrannick.
So all of a sudden now, if you add Josh Downs to this list,
he instantly slides in as the WR2, as he has 307 yards this year.
Good for a Colts team, of course, that is poor at 2-5.
Now in Pittsburgh, again, that makes him the number two receiver.
There are some questions about whether or not, you know, they need him.
If you have Jeremy Bernard, I think Josh Downs right now
is a better receiver than Jeremy
Bernard is, even though Bernard,
I think it's going to be very, very good.
I'm just super high on Josh Downs and the Steelers are too,
and they've even seen him
up close as when the Colts came to Pittsburgh in week five,
Downs caught three for 47
yards in a game that the Steelers ultimately won 34 to 22.
He fills an exact hole they have right back in September,
Downs led the NFL in separation
average or rather average separation per route,
which is something the Steelers kind of need
because that's the type of guy who's open on third
and six when Aaron Rodgers needs to get
the ball out fast like he's been wanting to do this entire season.
And this is where it shows
up most right. Mike McCarthy was asked today about the red zone
and he said, quote, We definitely
want to score more touchdowns.
And of course, that goes without saying, every team does.
And the Steelers are starting to get a little bit of disrespect.
Kurt Warner said this week that he doesn't think the team goes very far
because it has to go 10 to 12 plays every drive just to score.
And as annoying as it sounds, the numbers kind of back him up.
The Steelers have only one rushing touchdown all season.
Now, they scored 16 points in Pittsburgh on Sunday and won anyway.
That works in October.
Is that something that works in the playoffs?
It'll have to be seen.
But I do think Downs.
And Pittman, who were teams in Indianapolis,
could make for an interesting trio.
But again, what does that do with Jeremy Bernard?
Or is Jeremy Bernard ahead of Michael
Pittman right now on your guys' depth chart?
Comment down below.
And we even see here, fans and former players,
they kind of want Josh Downs badly.
Former Packers receiver James Jones said today that Pittsburgh
is a receiver away from being a true contender.
So was a day three pick a good deal for Josh Downs?
Let's kind of be honest on both sides.
I think it is, right?
I mean, his projections coming into the season,
Josh Downs were over a thousand yards in the four games.
Since those projections and predictions,
he only has 121 yards, which is about 30 a game.
He's never really been a thousand yard receiver.
Like he started 771 in his rookie year,
then an 803 in 2024, 566 last season.
1,000 was very, very generous.
And of course, these projections vary.
I think it was from Evan Siddery.
But at the end of the day, it's a fourth round pick.
Like, that should be able to,
you're not going to get a 1,000 yard receiver for a fourth
round pick, but you're able to buy Josh Downs
at his lowest value at a point where the Colts
hold no leverage, and he's still a steady,
steady 700 yard per year receiver.
Jeremy Bernard, who's Pittsburgh No. 2 right now,
is on pace for about 600, and also,
the money makes it even easier.
Downs has only $2.4 million left in his deal this year before
becoming a free agent, and then the Steelers can decide what
to do after this year. The Steelers
have $18 million in cap space, the Chiefs have
about $3.6 million, so Pittsburgh can absorb him
without moving a thing, and because it
is the last year of his rookie deal, whoever gets him
also gets the first shot at extending him before free agency.
Put it on a scale. On one side, a day three pick.
On the other, a 25-year-old receiver with nearly 2,500 career yards
who'd start for you tomorrow.
I think at a fourth or a fifth, it is a fantastic deal.
It is a steal. At a third, it's a little bit more interesting.
It'd be a little bit nerve-wracking,
but that just might be the market this year, especially
with so many teams like the Chiefs desperate for a wide receiver.
But here is the catch. If it does end up being a fourth round pick,
Pittsburgh doesn't have one.
They sent their 2027 fourth round pick to Dallas
in the Broderick Jones trade in August, which complicates things.
Now they have their own 2027 fifth and it's in Miami
or rather they traded their 2027 fifth.
Sorry, it is now in with the Dolphins
because the Minkah Fitzpatrick trade.
The only fifth they do own, which they own one,
is the Dallas Cowboys 2027 fifth.
Line them up and you can kind of see how they got here.
Unfortunately, Kansas does own their own 2027 fourth and its own fifth.
So straight up, the Chiefs can offer a pick.
The Steelers can't.
So what does Omar Khan do?
He has three ways to answer that.
He can offer his 2028 fourth, he has it,
but the Colts fired their GM and I don't know if they'd
want to pick two years out in a very strong draft next year in 2027
and let's keep in mind they are
in full sell mode. He could package Dallas' fifth with one
or two of his sixth round picks, so two
picks for one, or he could jump up to a third round pick
which would probably get the deal done
but would certainly be a little bit more risky.
Now, the timing is perfect, and here's why.
Schefter is reporting that this will go down after the weekend,
which means after Sunday, the Steelers are on their bye,
and their next game isn't until November 15th,
Sunday night in Cincinnati.
So if Downs lands in Pittsburgh next week,
he gets a full bye week to learn
the playbook before he plays a single snap,
and with the deadline being November 10th,
that's 12 days away from today, about two weeks.
But before all that, we do have some updates from practice this week.
We know they're playing the Browns.
Must win game to maintain the lead in the division.
And remember what I mentioned earlier
about Schefter and his phone lines?
Cleveland is burning them up as well.
So Cleveland is trying to improve potentially before Sunday.
Trade talks are going berserk.
Alex Highsmith even said it today.
It's a get back game for us
and it's a battle for first place in the AFC North.
Let's dive into the injury report.
The big worry is that cornerback Echols and Iniko Slaughter both
missed practice again today with a hamstring injury
or rather hamstring injuries. They're
both going to be out, I would assume on Sunday.
So it's not looking great for either of them.
Jalen Ramsey, as you know, he's a full go due to his broken wrist.
Highsmith limited. He's
going to be good to go. Everyone else is full on going.
Ben St. Brown might even come back. So
it got to a point where today,
Mike McCarthy said that he thinks every player on injured
Ranger Reserve has a shot at coming back
at some point, including Pittman.
And on Cleveland note, Jared Verse was limited
with his knee after sitting on Wednesday,
and Todd Monken expects him to play.
There is some beef going on there.
Like I mentioned, the trash talk has started.
Jarvis Landry said this week ain't no more terrible towels,
and that the Browns are about to sweep the Steelers.
And Asante Samuel Jr. was asked about it,
and he said that he didn't even see it.
And on Sunday, there won't be any talking,
because here's what Landry left out.
The Browns haven't won in Pittsburgh since 2003.
So three things for Sunday.
The corners, two of them are out.
You're going to have to see guys step up.
You have Highsmith's groin.
He's going to be okay.
And the red zone, that's the biggest story.
How fast and how explosive can this offense look?
Look rather, Pittsburgh is four and a half point favorites.
You win Sunday and the Steelers go into the bye week in first place
with the potential of Josh Downs on the horizon.
So folks, let me know down below where you guys stand.
Do you want Josh Downs?
I think for a fourth, it's an absolute no-brainer.
The problem is the Steelers don't have a fourth.
It makes things complicated.
I think a fifth and a sixth, I'd do the deal.
The Chiefs do have their fourth.
They're going to be heavily involved.
Downs, is he an elite wide receiver?
No, but he's reliable, could help this team.
But if you're super high and if internally the Steelers are super high,
and Jeremy Bernard, maybe you just let it ride
and kind of see what happens from there.
Because while the Steelers do need a wide receiver,
You do have some internal options.
So comment down below what your thoughts are on all of this.
And folks, it's going to be a crazy game on Sunday.
We'll keep you up to date every step of the way.
The potential for a live watch along.
Thank you guys for watching.
You guys are beasts.
Also comment down below if you guys believe in Jeremy Bernard
or if they should just hold
on to what they have
