Milwaukee Brewers celebrate World Series win with championship parade

Have made the trek from Milwaukee up to Green Bay after winning the World Series last night. Yeah, the Brewers are back in Milwaukee. In fact, they were in Green Bay for another celebration. They went to Green Bay yesterday. You know, you've got to do the Lambeau Leap there. Working well at the Packer game. They've had a whirlwind of a few days after their World Series victory. How about that? In just a few hours, they will be honored with a victory parade and party in downtown Milwaukee. It'll be some party, yeah. You can bet on that. Let's check in. And Hannah's here talking about... The how long it took to get to this point for this franchise. Yeah, no kidding. Can you imagine these guys doing the Lambo leap at a packed Lambeau after winning the World Series? It was a victory celebration. And oh, yeah, there was a football game too. Yeah, yeah. And the Packers won that football game. They did, big time. On Wisconsin, my goodness. All right, so today's parade. For the Brewers, it's happening in Milwaukee, of course, and it's really being treated like a holiday. School is canceled in Milwaukee. A lot of businesses were closed. Fans from across the state, even across the country, have plans to get downtown and get to Wisconsin Avenue to see these world champions. Taking a look here at the parade route, the team will march through downtown starting at 10 this morning, making their way to the Summerfest grounds along the lakefront where there will be a big rally with a bunch of stages, the mascot, the players, all of that. Let's take a live look from Milwaukee this morning. This morning where the city is lit up to support the crew one hour way. That was kind of their tagline here throughout the whole series. Along with the rally, the entire team at the amphitheater, there will be documentary screenings, meet and greets, live music, games. Again, that's on the Summerfest grounds. That will run until 3 this afternoon. Fans have been preparing for this since Game 5 ended. A lot of people getting there very early last night to stake out their parade route spot. If I'm putting chairs out here tonight, we'll be here early tomorrow with a case of beer, so we'll be here. That's how you got to do it. It's Wisconsin. They used to be Miller Park, for goodness sake. All right, road closures in Milwaukee start at 7 this morning. That's also when shuttles from the ballpark will start bringing fans to the downtown area. You can get in on all the fun. You'll be able to watch full coverage of the Brewers festivities on the Fox Local app today. Our sister station, Fox 6 in Milwaukee, will be live there catching the action from 9 until noon. And we're going to keep checking on Milwaukee here all morning because I think there's going to be a lot more chairs out there. And maybe a few more cases. And maybe a few more beers. Mimosas. The Friday before Halloween weekend coming off of a Packers. And that's the thing. Let's not pretend that this is only Milwaukee. I mean, yes, obviously the parade is there, but this is going to be statewide, it is going to be a day of celebration, weekend of celebration. And well-deserved, first ever World Series championship. How about that. So, cool. Good stuff, Hannah. Thank you.
