How tough is it to coach a guy like
that if you're an offensive coordinator
and you're a head football coach?
Because sometimes, again, like you said, he's off schedule at times.
And on top of that, you don't really know where he is in the pocket.
It's quite a task that Ben Johnson has
to create an offense around a guy like that.
Again, as creative as he is, Ben Johnson,
it must be tough to coach a guy like Caleb Williams.
I'm going to tell you something, Ben Johnson's smart.
Ben Johnson had a lot of places he could go when he left Detroit.
He had a quarterback, traditional quarterback,
play action guy, and we got to protect him.
He looks at this guy that he's against in his division,
and he goes, this will really be fun.
Because really, it's kind of like when I had Jaden at Arizona State.
I told Jaden, you know, I told him off as a coordinator one day.
He says, look, we got, you go one,
you got your first read, your second read.
And then the coordinator started talking about this third read.
And I said, no, no, he don't have three reads.
I said, Jaden, you go one, two, and when two's covered, take off.
Go, go.
Just go play playground.
Just go make a play, man.
Just run around.
Go make a play.
If ain't nobody open, just run for the first down.
Run out of bounds or slide.
So we never got to three.
I said, you just go ahead.
Go do what you do.
Coach, what makes Josh Allen such a special quarterback?
Not only his physical attributes, and we all see it,
but I think if you're a young coach or a parent
and you have athletes that want to play sports,
I don't care what sport they play.
You go tell them, hey, I don't care what teams you like in sports.
I want you to watch this one guy compete.
And just watch Josh Allen for about 10 minutes.
Just watch him.
Watch him play football.
I get it.
He plays quarterback.
But watch him play football.
Especially football.
Don't look at him as a quarterback.
Just look at how hard this guy competes.
That's what he does.
That's his deal, man.
That's his cape.
I don't care if you're a fan of football.
You got to watch him.
Just watch the guy play, and you'll go,
man, this dude's really something, man.
He's fun to watch.
