Hey guys, it's Moxie Patty. How are you?
So this is a different video. It actually has our Asian
Phoenix in it, um, Morissette, but she is on a Hello K-Idol episode.
The episode's pretty long,
but we're just going to like highlight her mentoring
and giving advice to them. Obviously
she can sing, so she's a great judge.
So I guess this happened back in 2018. So
Let's see, you know,
what are some of the pointers and you think, do you think, you
know, the K-idols would listen to her?
I hope so.
So here we go, guys.
Okay.
Yvette and I are known to be a singer and a stage performer.
Getting to be a part of Hello K-Idol is such a privilege.
As a singing K-mentor,
it's very important for me that they really hit the notes.
Because I know how strict they really are in Korea
when it comes to their dreams.
Sorry about that.
Baby it's you!
You're the one I need.
Baby, baby, baby, baby.
When Ms. Morissette came in, I was just smiling.
I was shocked first because I was so happy.
You're the one I need!
That's right!
Good job.
I'll leave the boys to you, Morissette.
Good luck!
Bye!
Thank you!
You guys may have noticed that among all our mentors,
I am the only one who doesn't have that Korean blood.
But I can assure you guys that I do have that respect
and love for K-pop and the Korean culture.
And we'll be focusing on our singing, but not just on the technique,
but also I want to be able to connect to you guys.
Of course, your notes shouldn't be right, the timing shouldn't
be right, but I should be able to feel what you're saying.
Oh, I forgot to mention this earlier.
As I said before, there's a way to relax your body
a little bit by touching your body like this.
Actually, since I do a lot of group activities as a team,
the team chant or cheer-up that I
do with the group members at the end is a really big help.
And now our rules!
So, I want you guys to be focused,
and of course we cannot forget our attitude box.
Of course, here at Showbiz, it's not just looks,
it's not just talent that we're looking at.
But at the same time, you guys cannot forget to have fun.
EJ will help us to be able to vocalize.
Now, although we have our different techniques of vocalization,
we'll start with the basics.
What do you suggest, Sir EJ?
Okay, let's try...
Ma...
So basically we just have to follow the chord, the keys.
Yes.
Wanna try it?
One, two, three, and...
.
When we were vocalizing earlier with Ms. Morissette,
we were able to follow her because we have a guide in the piano.
Usually, I get pressured in front
of her because of course, she's a singer.
Of course, Ms. Morissette is touching me.
Of course, even if we're not singers,
we need to show our muscles, right?
Zing, zing, zing, zing, zing, zing, zing.
Wow, this is nice.
For me, let's say the strongest of us, Keen.
I think my biggest enemy in this competition is Keen.
I hope they're not intimidated because they
also have a lot of strength in singing.
Guys, so now we've warmed up.
At this point, we'll do a one-on-one.
Okay?
But of course, I'm not an expert
when it comes to the pronunciation of Korean songs, right?
So I'm going to be asking help from my co-mentor,
Jin Hobi!
I look up to Morissette.
I've known her ever since her first major appearance
in the showbiz, so that's how excited
I was.
Alright, so who wants to go first?
You guys are so cool!
So what I'm going to sing now is the song of BtoB, My Girl.
1, 2, 3
My sweetie girl, my heart, you're my girl
I'm only looking at you
Do you know how I feel, my girl?
When it comes to technical, there were some parts
that I think you need to be more confident to hit it.
Because we can hear that you're hitting the notes.
But I believe you're able to, with more understanding,
with more learning, you're able to do this.
Right, Carl, how are you?
I'm all good.
I was told that you have something to share, right?
Yes, ma'am, about my song, Elevator.
He gave us this first song
and then biglang today decided to change it to another song.
It's okay. Sometimes they give us songs
that it's not really my comfort zone but...
Sometimes, I really have to do it because it's the requirement.
But like right now, you have the luxury to change your song.
And if you feel that you will shine more
in this song, then we believe you.
If you lose the last page,
you'll have to give up on yourself.
Hey, even if you have to give up on yourself,
you'll have to give up on yourself.
If you have to give up on yourself,
you'll have to give up on yourself.
I was like waiting for you to make a mistake on the rap part.
You did it!
In fact, you struggled at the intro, not the rap.
You feel like you really need to move.
Because if that works for you, then go.
How's the falsetto part?
Try it on the palette.
Oh, oh, oh.
It's better here, right?
I'm starting to sing now.
I'm starting to speak now.
He's crying.
I'm so nervous about the song because it's too high for my voice.
But you chose it.
Yes, but to challenge myself.
Feeling good.
I wanna touch you, baby.
Oh, sorry.
It's okay, it's still going.
I wanna touch you, baby.
Alright.
That's good for now, that's good for now.
You have the quality in your voice.
I like that, I admire that.
Because you're still...
You're just looking at your lyrics.
I haven't really...
Actually, not yet.
That's how I remember it, especially the rap part.
We didn't even reach that point.
You didn't rap.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm a bit disappointed
because I always focus on the tone and pronunciation.
I forgot to do the kabisado.
I hope you'll be able to really study your song.
You'll be able to internalize the emotions of the song.
Yes, ma'am.
Cool.
I'm starting to speak now.
I'm starting to speak now.
There were parts that you
were totally off the key.
So I think you really need to watch the notes
that you're singing and you really have to
be accurate.
Let's do that one
more time.
I think it's still the same.
My notes are still the same for you really need
to focus on that specific part.
What the hell?
What happened to you?
Your pronunciation was on point. Seriously.
Honestly, he was the worst.
Today?
He was the worst.
Yeah, but now I think...
He's the best?
I felt like you're only singing it to yourself.
But we're right here.
I guess it's just more projecting the song.
As a singer, as a performer, ako,
I've never had a really solid, solid heartbreak.
But people compliment me when I'm singing heartbreak songs
kasi parang totoo.
Pero it's being a storyteller kasi.
So I think I just really want to get that from you.
I'm excited to hear you sing this song.
Why this song?
Who You by G-Dragon.
I'm a Big Bang fan.
And G-Dragon is my super idol.
Yeah!
So I want to be like him.
Congratulations, you finally met another man.
It's still a little too late for you to be happy.
I can actually feel that you're very comfortable with this song.
And...
It's like you're inviting GD.
It's okay that you have musical influences.
Now, I want to hear JP.
Not GD anymore, GD.
I want to hear JP.
How are you today, Ki?
I'm okay. I'm nervous.
But I'm excited to see you because I don't know if you remember,
but we used to go together once in a workshop when I was young.
What?
I think it was 2010.
Huh?
Yes, when we had a picture.
Oh my gosh.
This is the one.
Look at Ki.
Oh my gosh.
So young.
Is that you?
Yes.
This song is very famous and I've heard many people,
many other singers perform this as well.
But I'm looking forward to hearing your version, okay?
Give your best, go!
Thank you.
Thank you.
I love you so much, beautiful life.
I appreciate how you were looking at me.
Because for me, eye contact is important.
When it comes to the pronunciation...
Can you say,
Say 또덩그러니
To the good old days.
You say too.
Too.
It's too.
Too is bleh.
Ah.
Too is again.
And too is bleh.
You don't bleh on your lover.
I really don't know.
Too.
Too.
Working with Jinho Bae today during our singing challenge.
I'm so happy he's here.
My experience with working with Morissette.
To actually work with my idol.
Even when he was explaining, I was listening.
So I feel like I also learned something.
She was training the trainees, but honestly I was taking notes.
Deep inside, I was taking notes.
I was like, okay, breathing.
Jinho!
Mmm.
Morissette.
Bye-bye.
I love you.
Okay guys so I'm going to let this play out
but you can watch the whole video but it's amazing
how she gave them tips and pointers of improving you know their singing
and their techniques and
If Morissette was giving me that right now, oh my goodness,
not only I would be taking some serious notes, you know,
I would pay close attention and everything that she was saying.
Not only is she talented, she can sing,
she knows how to project, you know, different notes,
her highs, her lows, you know, her whistle is just.
you know it's just amazing and she's a great mentor
and like later on in the the video you'll
you'll see that so i hope you enjoyed this guys
um do me a favor if you like this video hit the like
hit the sub and don't forget hit the bell
and leave me a comment and i will see you next time
Bye for now.
See you next time.
Ja.
Matinee.
