How SpaceX manufacture so FAST it feels like CHEATING?
How SpaceX Turned Starship Into a Mass-Produced Rocket Ever
How SpaceX build one rocket every day!
How long do you think it would take to build a giant rocket more than 120 meters tall, weighing thousands of tons, and capable of lifting over 100 tons of cargo into orbit?
Most people would say a few years. NASA spent nearly a decade building just a handful of Saturn Vs. The Space Shuttle? Only five flew in more than 30 years.
SpaceX, though, is operating on a completely different level. Its stated goal is to build one Starship per day.
Not prototypes. Not test models. Fully flight-capable ships, built at scale like cars or airplanes.
So How SpaceX manufacture so FAST it feels like CHEATING?
As of now, SpaceX is producing roughly one complete Starship per month. This figure was confirmed by Gwynne Shotwell, President and COO of SpaceX, earlier this year. From the moment a roll of stainless steel is cut to the point where the Raptor engines are installed and the vehicle is ready for testing, each Starship takes about 30 days on average.
That is a remarkably fast pace compared to its competitors. But for SpaceX, it isn’t enough. The company is now aiming for two Starships per week, and eventually one Starship per day.
Elon Musk has said that Starship must ultimately be produced at an extraordinary scale. His long-term vision goes beyond launching a handful of impressive rockets. He wants to build a transportation system capable of supporting a permanent human presence beyond Earth.
