James Kaufman, World News Report Today.
Hope everyone's ready for winter to start,
because it starts, well, today.
Sunday today and overnight into tomorrow,
we have a winter weather alert for nine states,
and one state could see as much as 18 inches of snow hit.
Nine states across the U.S. have been issued
with a winter weather warning by the National Weather Service.
Some expected to see up to 18 inches of snowfall
on a Sunday evening through Tuesday morning.
Many regions experiencing
their first significant snowfall of the winter.
The National Weather Service has warned residents
in affected areas that travel is likely to be very difficult.
Take care during morning and evening commutes.
They should, quote, be prepared for slippery roads,
especially over bridges and over bypasses,
and allow for extra travel time to reach their destinations.
The National Weather Service has warned
the following nine states to expect winter weather conditions
from Sunday through Monday evening and in some areas Tuesday morning.
Those include Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina,
Virginia, Tennessee, New York, Kentucky, Alaska, and Maine.
Now, the whole country's about to get cold.
We're going to go over those nine states real quick, though.
Michigan's expected to see 4 to 12 inches with heavy winds,
depending on your location.
Wisconsin to see 2 to 8 inches with heavy winds,
depending on your location.
North Carolina, 3 to 8 inches, depending on your altitude,
and they're looking at winds of up to 45 miles per hour.
National Weather Service has warned this could bring down tree branches
and cause power outages.
Virginia is going to see 3 to 7 inches
with winds up to also 45 miles per hour.
Tennessee, 5 to 12 inches with winds up to 40 miles an hour.
All these states with
Heavy winds and snow can expect a lot of power outages.
Maine is supposed to see 2 inches of snow,
depending on where you are in Maine.
New York, 3 to 6 inches is expected, depending on your location.
Kentucky, 2 to 4 inches is expected.
And Alaska, well, 3 to 18 inches is expected.
Through Monday evening, depending on your elevation,
where the wind's over 15 miles per hour.
It goes without saying that the entire country
is about to get really cold,
except for, well, Hawaii.
So all states are going to feel some of this cold snap,
except for Hawaii.
With that said, guys, well,
get your blankets out and be prepared for no electricity.
Which is highly possible.
God bless.
Please share, subscribe, and always remember, anything's possible.
Bizarro world.
