Madinah ziyarah to Jaanatul Baqi Largest Cemetery l 10.000 companions of the Prophet (PBUH).

Today we'll be going to Janaatul Baqi.
Jannatul Baqi is the largest cemetery located in Medina and is located next to the Nabawi Mosque. It is estimated to contain the graves of at least 10,000 companions of the Prophet ﷺ. Unfortunately, at this time these graves cannot be identified because they are not marked.

It has three entrances; one on the north side, another on the east and the main entrance is on the west side. This entrance is used by visitors and during funerals.

The area between Jannatul Baqi and the Prophet's Mosque is known as Bayn al-Haramayn and was once the home of the Ahl al-Bayt as well as a market. This no longer exists and has been replaced by a white marble square. You can now see the eastern exit of the Nabawi Mosque from the Jannatul Baqi entrance.

The area of ​​Jannatul Baqi is said to be around 80m2. Today, its area has grown to 175,000m2, and was expanded in 1373/1953-54.

When entering the cemetery gate, there is a semicircular fence supported by an old stone retaining wall. Figures from the Prophet ﷺ's family are buried here, namely:

Al-Hasan bin Ali bin Ali Talib, grandson of the Prophet ﷺ
Ali bin Husain Zayn al-Abidin, son of Husain and great-grandson of the Prophet ﷺ
Muhammad al-Baqir, son of Zayn al-'Abidin
Ja'far al-Sadiq, son of Muhammad al-Baqir
Al-Abbas bin Abdul Muttalib, paternal uncle of the Prophet ﷺ
Fatima, daughter of the Prophet ﷺ

Jannatul Baqi merupakan pemakaman terbesar yang terletak di Madinah dan terletak di sebelah Masjid Nabawi. Diperkirakan berisi kuburan setidaknya 10.000 sahabat Nabi ﷺ. Sayangnya, saat ini kuburan-kuburan tersebut tidak dapat diidentifikasi karena tidak diberi tanda.
