Hey everyone, it's Deja
from KnitAndCrochetEverAfter.com and today I am showing you my new
unicorn scissors! How cute are these? So these are from Darn Good Yarn,
they sent these to me
to do a review
on and I'm already in love.
They have kind of this rainbow coating
and they say it's unique plasma coating and it's kind of
So as you can see,
like you know that titanium looking where it gives you
that shimmery rainbow effect. So cute. I love
that both sides have the unicorn
so it's not like flat on one side and you know the horn
being the scissors is super cute
and of course the little eye is the screw so it's
Coated throughout and I don't see like it it doesn't flake
so it's not like paint it's like an actual coating
and I really like that the tip is not super pointy
so it's slightly blunted but you can't really tell it's still very um
Pointy, so it looks super pointy, but it's really not that bad.
So if you hit yourself hard enough, it's going to hurt,
but it's really, it shouldn't poke through too many things.
And then the blades themselves,
they are fairly sharp, but not super sharp.
So that's like good.
I'm kind of scared of super sharp, sharp scissors,
but these are the type that you could definitely sharpen.
I don't know if the coating is like all the way through.
it looks like the actual blade is just the regular metal,
so that might wear off the
coating a little bit where you're sharpening them,
but, you know, I don't think it's going to make a
difference if there's actual silver there,
so it's not like it's going to start flaking or anything.
They're very sturdy. They're very heavy for, you know, their metal.
They feel like they're
going to last a long time, and they're just super cute.
So fun fact about me is when I was a kid, I collected unicorns.
I was into unicorns before they were cool.
Now they're everywhere and I got rid of all mine.
So this is my new beginning to my collection,
I think, because I still love unicorns.
I just kind of grew out of them.
So the most important part is how do they cut?
Because you don't want them if they suck, right?
Right, so I have been working on a knit look.
crochet basket and it's made with t-shirt yarn
and t-shirt yarn is very thick so here's just a
little sample of it and they have
been working great they cut through like butter there's no
problem i don't have to like sit there and saw through it so
They work like a charm.
I've been using them on a bunch of other projects too
because they're just super cute
and my new favorite and easy to find.
So I'm thoroughly enjoying them.
A little bit more about Darn Good Yarn.
they are the ones that did send me the scissors
and they sent me this kind of little brochure and
i am on their website all the time
because they have tons of cute stuff and they have more than
just yarn so they have yarn of the month bead
of the month fabric of the month mystery skirt
of the month they take um the upcycle old saris s-a-r-i
which are you know traditional kind of
It's kind of in the innie.
that are just beautiful
The fabrics are beautiful and they make skirts and scarves out
of them and they're always running sales
so you can get these beautiful garments from them. But
they do yarn, they do notions, they do yarn bowls
I love their yarn bowls. I constantly have them in
my little gift kit or gift idea blogs because they're so cute.
So they just have a ton of
of different stuff
including these super cute scissors.
you can see them in on the website in the link below
but you're gonna see a lot of these in my videos going forward
because they are just
they're like the cutest scissors I own now
so tell me what you think. If you get a pair
tag me on Instagram or Facebook
I'd love to know what you think about them
or anything else that you get from Darn Good Yarn
and thank you for watching
