Britain's Shriever wins women's elite final at BMX World Cup in Sarasota

In lane number three for Great Britain, an Olympic champion, your four-times world champion, your current world champion, Bethany Shariva. In lane number two, representing New Zealand, give it up for Lila Walker. And on her inside, from the Netherlands, an ex-world champion, a 32-time World Cup winner, Laura Smulders. There's a random start. Smulders, side by side, but Smulders has work to do as she will start stepping it up, getting some good speed on the back side. Bethany Schreiber in the lead now. Schreiber's team, Simpson at three. In a lap of four, Laura Reynolds in five. They're coming to the rhythm section now. Laura Smulders looking to make up some time on Bethany Schreiber. Bethany Schreiber's not going to make any mistakes as she comes through now towards the finish line. It's been Laura Smulders and Schreiber all the way. Oh, that goes. It's got to be close. Schreiber gets ahead of Smulders. Simpson in three. Walker in four. Schreiber, 35, 3-6-6. Oh, my Lord. Oh, my Lord. Beth, many congratulations, our third win of the season, but we can see how much it's taken out of you. How much did it take to get this win today? Yeah, it was a lot. I actually struggled a bit at the start of the day, finding my rhythm. But I knew as soon as I was in front on that first corner and Loz was behind, I knew I had to stay smooth because she's been on fire all day. So yeah, to hold it, all the way to the finish. I'm over the moon, so yeah.
