Calling Kellen about that we were doing a statue in the first place
and you know it's like he kind of laughed
and it's like I don't know he doesn't want he doesn't need that type
of recognition and and that makes it that much more powerful for us
so it's really in the people the blue is is powerful right
but it's because of the people who came before us
and it's it's their shoulders that we're building off of.
I did not expect that obviously, you know, it's a really cool honor
and I think hopefully it just kind of is a representation for an era
of Boise State football that was really fun, really special.
A whole bunch of guys that, you know,
did things the right way and had a lot of fun doing it.
It's cool, you know, and obviously I have just so much appreciation
for what JD has done at this place and continue to work to continue
to bring Boise State through this college football era and,
you know, it's just a really cool opportunity.
We talk about it.
Once a Bronco, always a Bronco.
And to have that history and tradition and to have that foundation,
I mean,
I mean, to see our guys today when Kellen spoke to the team,
I mean, it's just really cool.
Part of me being here is him.
I remember watching those games and what Boise State was accomplishing,
and we owe a lot to him, and so I'm very grateful.
To me, that's what makes this place unique.
It's the people that lead it.
It's the players, but it's a community-run football team.
You know, to see every Saturday night
when you turn these games on and see the crowd and the atmosphere
and you don't see that a lot of other places in college football.
And so it's a special place. I think anyone who's played here loves it,
loves when you're in the NFL world and you go against different teams
and you run into more Boise State people and everyone wears
those colors very proudly and states that name very proudly.
The blue field is an instant connector
for anyone across this entire world, and so whether
you're playing in Paris or New Orleans,
wherever it may be, everyone's seen that blue field,
and so it's an instant connection,
and then once they do a little research, they discover
how amazing this community, this city, this state, this campus is.
