CBS 2027 NFL Mock Draft | Mock the Mock
Nov 1, 2026
Today, we are going
to be breaking down CBS's brand new 2027 NFL mock draft.
Let's jump right into this.
If you guys are new, feel free to like, comment, and subscribe.
Below my face is my board.
It is based solely on all 22 grades.
If you want to see the full board,
every single eval that I do, and a list of winners and
losers of every single week,
go check out the Patreon, five bucks a month.
Great, great community over there.
Love them to death.
If you guys are new to this series,
I end up going through every single pick, and I
give it a hit, miss, or meh.
Let's get into this.
Let's have a good time.
I love you guys.
Number one overall, of course,
the ad blocker CBS ends up having a hard enough time and
it got all pissy.
So apologies if there's a random ad that pops up that's a little crazy.
But number one overall, Jeremiah Smith,
a wide receiver out of The Ohio State University.
This is a hit.
The Chargers need a wide receiver.
Jeremiah Smith, arguably the greatest that we've seen in college,
at least for a noticeable
period of time.
One of the few guys who have earned the true G card.
Let's not spend too much time dwelling on this pick, though.
We go to number two, where Leonard Moore goes to the Tennessee Titans.
To me, this is a hit.
If you are not wanting to go
and replace your quarterback position, Leonard Moore is
the second best player in the draft.
This is a position of need.
It's a position where only the top guys remain pretty consistent.
There's a lot of fluctuation with those backup corners and,
you know, those fringe corner
ones, those hybrid corner twos.
So I really like the return on investment
of going after an elite top tier corner, especially
when the hit rate has been so consistently high
for these top tier corners.
Of course, Sauce Gardner.
It's kind of challenged whether that was a hit,
but it was at least at the time for the Jets
and garnered them two firsts.
Number three, Drew Mastemaker, quarterback out of Oklahoma State.
This is a hit.
I think Drew Mastemaker's ceiling is through the roof.
This is an organization that can take
their time with their quarterback.
Malik Willis can play another year, maybe even two if you need him to.
I don't think that would be the case.
I think Drew would start by that point.
But this is a future project that doesn't need
to start immediately, which I like for
the Dolphins.
I would not go after another quarterback besides
Drew Mastemaker if I am the Dolphins in this
class, though.
Malik Willis.
Would end up holding me back from going after the other options
because I've seen enough and there's enough holes on this team
to target other positions.
But going after QB1, especially with the ceiling of Drake May,
which is what I think Drew Mastemaker archetypally fits,
it ends up making a lot of sense.
Number four, the Washington Commanders go Colin Simmons,
edge rusher out of Texas.
This is also a hit.
Collin Simmons is a really consistent edge rusher.
Kind of hard to be able to be, to complain, I should say,
about an edge rusher that has been multiple years extremely dominant.
From the moment he touched the field, he's been producing.
So got to give him credit where credit's due.
Like 10 sacks in multiple years in a row deserves a lot of credit.
This is an organization that doesn't
need to rush Collin Simmons either.
So hopefully he gets healthy and ends up becoming the player
That we know for him to be.
Number five.
We have the Texans going Dylan Stewart.
Edge rusher out of South Carolina.
This is an absolute hit.
I think Dylan Stewart to the Texans is probably my favorite.
fit for them right now, like one of these edge rushers,
because long-term, I think that there
is a lot to be had in this edge core that if you wait,
you might end up losing out on because of
all that experience and that, um,
that mentorship that Daniel Hunter can provide. So I think that
is an amazing move. I'm on the hunt for an upset.
And I think I found the perfect.
game this week. Arizona plays Texas Tech and the odds,
according to Kalshi, say that there's only
a 39% chance that Arizona wins. And I think that is absurd.
Noah Fafita is red hot. The defense
has been extremely underrated
and Texas Tech has been super underwhelming. So this is the perfect
prime opportunity for a big upset.
And if you do end up seeing the trends.
It looks like the opinions of people are reflecting that as well,
as those numbers continue to
converge.
Now, if you do put $25 on the position of Arizona winning,
which if you use the code
HMS, make it easy, click the link in the description,
you'll get the $25 back in your account for
making this trade.
On top of that.
You'll get an additional $30
because my folks over at Kalshi were like, let's make it worth
their while, even if they lose.
Because let's just say Texas Tech wins.
They're favored to win.
You'll still end up getting $30 net positive.
You'll get the 55.
So your 25 gets returned to you and another 30.
But if Arizona wins, your 25 will randomly become
Sixty one dollars, forty six cents plus an additional fifty five.
That is over one hundred
and ten dollars back into your account for this.
So if you lose, you get 30.
If you win, you get one ten.
I think that's great.
And again, you're seeing these numbers continue to converge.
Look at that chart.
You might want to be able to act
while the numbers are still in your favor.
Go check it out.
Use the code HMS for signing up and take
advantage of the numbers while you can.
At number six, we have the Philadelphia Eagles,
and they go Charlie Becker, wide receiver
out of Indiana.
This is surprisingly a hit.
I think that Charlie Becker,
even though people are going to want to say the Eagles need other
positions in wide receiver,
he unlocks a part of the offense that they've been sorely missing
this year, and that is the deep ball.
What Charlie Becker does best is get long range separation,
and when he doesn't get
long range separation, he catches the damn ball.
So it's a reliable safety net that,
in my opinion, the Eagles don't currently have.
Now, does that put you in an awkward situation
with Dontayvion Wicks, with Cooper?
Like, I think that you could argue that, for sure.
But at the same time, you can't let good stop you from great.
And sadly, the NFL doesn't really reward depth
at the same way it does star talent.
And right now, unfortunately,
the Eagles are missing a star true number one.
And Charlie Becker would be the long-term option for that.
Number seven, we have the Jets going CJ Carr,
quarterback out of Notre Dame.
This is a mess.
Hmm.
The reasoning why, so I think we've been hitting on all of these,
the reason why is actually
something where I think I need to take this note myself,
because I've drafted C.J. Carter
to the Jets, and I don't think it's a bad pick at all,
but someone mentioned the fact
that it's like, hey, this is an outdoor stadium,
you're playing in outdoor stadiums, you're
going to be going to the winter,
the winds are tough, a weaker-armed quarterback does
not work in these conditions, and C.J. Carr doesn't have a noodle.
I don't think that he'd be hopeless in this condition,
but it is undoubtedly considerable
when you're looking at what could cause CJ Carter to fail.
And the sad thing is,
you don't have many QBs in this class that are remotely close
to that arm strength.
Most of them, like Austin Simmons,
are going to debate returning to school.
So it is a little bit concerning.
I don't think it's a bad pick,
but I do think that there is some red flags
when it comes to specifically the Jets
going after CJ Carr.
Number eight, Darian Mensah, quarterback out of Miami,
goes to the Arizona Cardinals.
This is a hit.
Cardinals, first off, indoor.
Secondly, other parts of their own division,
also relatively okay to play against with a weaker-armed QB.
Even though I think Darian Mensah has a stronger arm
than people give him credit for,
he's still a very poised, very accurate QB,
and one that I think, especially if QBs return,
provides the highest floor out of all the options in the draft.
And I think Darian Mensah fits extraordinarily well
into a LaFleur system.
Like you look at the archetype of quarterbacks
into the Los Angeles Rams in the past and
what has worked, it is a lot like Darian Mensah.
So I think this would be a really good fit for the system
and a really good pick here
at number eight.
Oh, whoa.
Okay.
Number nine, we have the Buccaneers going.
Tre Davious Green, a tight end of LSU.
I was given a ton of hits.
This is a miss.
Tre Davious Green, first off, not worth a number 9 overall selection.
A very unique build of player.
Kind of a glorified big wide receiver.
When he's been healthy, he's been good,
but he hasn't really been that healthy.
So there's not really a reason to draft him here at number 9.
If you're talking about number 41,
I think maybe you have a little bit more of a reason to.
But that's crazy.
So we're talking about using him just
pretty much as a contested catch guy.
That's crazy to me at number 9.
Number 10, the Jets go Ashton Hampton corner out of Clemson.
This is a hit.
Ashton Hampton's a very good corner with an amazing frame
and has put on some spectacular tape.
He honestly is due for a bump,
but he is going to end up being a top 10 selection
when all is said and done.
Not many players have that combination of tape as well as frame.
Number 11, we have the Saints going Chris Cole,
linebacker out of Georgia.
This is a huge hit.
I love Chris Cole.
You guys can see that.
He's number three on my board.
But on top of that, he plays so well as an edge rusher
that I would just totally love
to see Brandon Staley utilize him to the max potential.
And I think he would.
I think Chris Cole, this would be possibly his best spot.
Going on to number 12, the Jets go Will
Echols defensive end here out of Ole Miss.
This is also a hit.
Will Echols is a quality defensive interior.
He's flashed the ability to go and see red
and just go batshit crazy when he saw him versus LSU.
We'll see if the consistency ends up leaning
a little bit more towards the average this year,
or if he ends up having another game where he sees red.
If he does, then we are going to see ourselves
in a very interesting position
where he should end up being a top 10 pick.
If not, the 15 to 20 range is going to be
a little bit more of the adequate spot.
At number 13, we have the Raiders going
Cam Coleman, wide receiver out of Texas.
This is still a hit.
I don't think Cam Coleman has garnered the love
to be a top 15 player based off of his
performance this year.
His bad drops and big moments definitely can leave
a sour taste in your mouth.
Their big win over Ole Miss, he only had 12 yards on one reception.
Granted, it was an outside of frame reception.
I love seeing that.
But personally, I think that Cam Coleman,
Trevor Goosby, and Arch Manning all returned
to school.
I don't think either, all three of them,
I don't think they've lived up to the potential.
And then, of course, because of Goosby's injury,
add that to the equation.
I think there's a lot more meat on the bone,
and there's a lot of money in college.
So these guys can end up probably going back to school.
But the Raiders need a true boundary one.
I think Cam Coleman would be a great choice for it.
14, we have the Browns going.
Yonzee Pierre, edge rusher out of Alabama.
This is a mess.
And it's not because of the talent,
because I think Yonzee Pierre's a stud.
But it is because of the fit.
Cleveland does not go after smaller edge rushers.
I think that they would...
Like, I mean, I don't think they would
be detrimentally damaged by going after a new
type of edge rusher, but let's be realistic here.
They just don't target smaller edge rushers.
So I just don't think it ends up fitting what they're looking for.
And in my opinion, they still could use
a quarterback like Trinidad Chambliss that
works well in a Munkin system.
Number 15, the Falcons go Jordan Seton tackle at LSU.
Huge hit.
Jordan Seaton is a really good player
who just dropped a little too much weight and I think
he's still trying to adjust it.
And I feel like when he ends up receiving contact with speed from
speed to power from range, he kind of thinks he's still 330 pounds.
He's not. So there's a lot of
self-awareness. I think that Seton needs to learn
or he needs to add the weight back.
One of the two, but he was my number two player coming into the year.
Sadly, he's not there currently,
but I think there's a pathway for him to get there.
And with the Cardinals needing Jake Matthews replacement,
right tackle not re-signed yet
with Jawan Taylor, there's going
to be a vacancy probably at one of the two.
Number 16, the Ravens go Trevor Goosby left tackle out of Texas.
This is a mess.
I like going BPA.
I like going for a ceiling player.
This is a replacement for Ronnie Stanley.
However, this was just released
and it does not mention the fact that Trevor Goosby is
out for the entire year.
He's done.
Like, I don't think he comes out because of that, but he's done.
I think he's going to be able, I believe
he has an extra year of eligibility.
He could redshirt and return to school.
Um, it just, I don't, I don't see the reason for him to come out,
but you know, the Ravens
getting a long-term contingency plan.
I don't think it's the worst thing in the world.
17, the Seahawks go Ellis Robinson,
the fourth cornerback out of Georgia.
This is a huge hit.
Ellis Robinson's a fantastic corner.
He's proven time and time again this year
that he is a lockdown boundary physical corner
and he fits the Seahawks MO.
He'd be a great replacement for Josh Jobe.
I think this would be a great selection for him.
Pick 18, we have the New England Patriots going Jaden Baugh.
Run the Baugh!
Running back out of Florida, this is a hit.
This is a player who I have selected to New England as of yesterday,
so I should be able to approve this,
but he's just a quality back that's a great replacement
with an elevated skill set to Ramondre Stevenson.
So perfect role with even more elevated talent
to give the Patriots an even better selection.
Number 19, we have the Panthers going.
Greg Johnson, interior offensive lineman out of Minnesota.
This is a hit.
The interior offensive line absolutely could use a new addition
in replacing Robert Hunt.
Also.
Technically, center has not been a great position either.
My only concern is that you're going to have
a 6'6 guard with a short quarterback.
That's the only reason why I debate going into the Met territory,
but Uh Greg Johnson is
a great athlete.
I think he fits extremely well in terms
of the vision with the quality athletes that
you guys are starting to build
on that offensive line rather than more of a hog molly mentality.
Number 20, we have the Cowboys
going Xavier Gilliam, defensive tier out of Tennessee.
This is a mess.
Gilliam's a freak.
He just is.
His high-level plays outmatch anybody's in the class at his position.
However, his low-end reps are horrible,
and the Cowboys aren't a defensive interior away
from being able to compete.
I think that it's more of a scheme thing than an actual talent thing.
Like, they genuinely have a ton of talent on their defensive front.
Their defense has a ton of talent in general.
I don't think a defensive interior is going
to change how they're playing currently.
But it's not the...
It's not the worst pick in the world
because it's good value for an extremely high ceiling
player.
I just don't really understand what he's going
to give that you guys don't already have.
I think it's more of a coaching thing.
And I think Christian Parker needs
to get his head and ass wired together.
21, you got the Giants going David Stone,
defensive tier out of Oklahoma.
This is a miss.
David Stone has been extremely battered and banged up all year long.
He added unnecessary weight.
It is so obvious by how he moves, how he plays.
He's just not in shape and he's hurt.
There's no reason to take that number 21 overall,
maybe 121, but there's no reason for David
Stone to come out either.
I pray to God he ends up going back to school,
getting healthy and being the player that
he was in 2025 because I had that as a top five to 10 player.
He's just not that this year.
I saw him in person versus Texas.
It was so obvious.
This dude's playing hurt.
He needs to get healthy and have one more year
to show that he can play healthy.
22, we have the Jags going Kingston Lopa, defensive back out of Cal.
This is a hit.
Freaky movement, freaky player.
Reminds me a lot of how fluid Travis Hunter was,
but you have a 6'5", 210-pound frame.
Wasn't great when I saw him in person versus SMU.
But that doesn't mean everything.
I just don't like how he ends up playing the run.
I think he needs to be a little bit more aggressive
in contested catch situations.
But when he is in open field,
this dude is an absolute lurker.
Five interceptions in three games to start out the year.
I'm excited to see if he ends up continuing this trend going forward.
23. The Bengals go Lance Hurd. Left tackle out of Kentucky.
This is a hit. Perfect, perfect fit.
It is a perfect replacement for Orlando Brown.
Hurd has done a phenomenal job this year. He is an aggressive tackle.
He fits the archetype of gritty, powerful,
consistent tackles that the Bengals have now had for a couple of years.
But Orlando Brown has an out this year.
It's very obvious they're going to take it. Lance Hurd's a great pick.
24, the Pittsburgh Steelers go Kelly Jones,
corner out of Mississippi State.
This is a hit.
Kelly Jones is a top four, maybe top five corner in the class.
The Steelers, unfortunately,
got a second round pick for Joey Porter Jr.
We should have paid him.
We pay old dudes that shouldn't be on the team,
but we don't want to pay our young guys.
I find that disgusting, but it is what it is.
Kelly Jones, I don't think he's remotely close
to the talent of Joey Porter Jr.
That's going to be a hot take.
I think Kelly Jones, his biggest issue is his change of direction.
I don't think it's very good at all.
He has a very hard time shifting from backpedaling to going forward,
but it is what it is.
Kelly Jones, still a good player nonetheless.
I'm currently watching his tape right now
to give him an updated grade for those of y'all on Patreon.
25, we have the Lions going
Boubacar Traore, edge out of Notre Dame.
This is a meh.
I think there are better corners available
or defensive backs in general that are available.
It is so good to see both of your safeties back.
I did not expect for you guys to get Kirby Joseph back.
I thought we were all saying it was a done
It was wrapped on his career.
But I still think one more defensive back
is definitely needed there in the backfield.
Um
Boubacar Traore, I don't think adds very much value
over Derek Moore.
And it's at a first round pick cost.
26, we have the Browns going Dante Moore, quarterback out of Oregon.
This is a mess.
Dante Moore, I don't think,
has the mobility to truly maximize a Monk system.
You do still have Trinidad Chambliss on the board.
you.
And Dante Moore is quitting, not quitting, excuse me.
That's an aggressive way to say it.
He is tapping out on the season after having a brutal concussion.
That will make someone debate whether having football
as a career is something they want to do.
Personally, I think he either transfers
or goes back to school because A, unfinished
business, B, I don't think he's a late first round pick.
I think we're artificially inflating the QB value.
So I like Dante Moore.
I still have him as a top 64 player.
That doesn't mean he's a guaranteed first round pick.
Also, these quarterbacks sign new deals before
those fifth year contracts happen anyways.
Number 27, the Broncos go Jamari Johnson, tight end out of Oregon.
This is a huge hit.
He's going to go way earlier than this.
Jamari Johnson's a stud, like just a perfectly balanced tight end
that would work very well with Denver's offense.
Number 28, the Bears go Amari Washington, defensive interior out of Oregon.
This is a mess.
Mess because he doesn't fit a Dennis Allen build.
Dennis Allen likes his 300-pound defensive interiors
and his 265-pound 6'5 edge rushers.
Amari doesn't fit either profile.
I think Devon Tompkins is a better fit
for either of those than Amari Washington is.
29, Bills, Tay Johnson, defensive back out of Notre Dame.
This is a mess.
I think Tay Johnson's incredible value.
He just hasn't played this year.
I can't give him a positive analysis for having a
like, based on the limited reps he's had this year.
So I hope that he ends up getting to full health.
We'll see if he wants to come out, but I don't think he needs to.
And it just, it feels...
I feel like there could have
been a better player selected here that has a higher chance
of coming out than just kind of selecting one
of my favorite players in the draft, but
you know, one that hasn't really shown
this year that they're a first round pick.
30.
49ers, Ryan Coleman-Williams, this is a match.
I don't think Ryan Coleman-Williams is going to provide a ton of value
based on his injury history and his drops as well.
Like his frame injuries and drops are going to be a combination
that I don't think works very well with the electrical substation
licking its chops at every player that comes to the Niners.
I prefer more of someone to learn like KJ Duff.
From Mike Evans, I think that utilizing
the mentorship there would be invaluable.
So Reed Harris, KJ Duff, if I'm going to go after
a wide receiver over Ryan Coleman-Williams.
Number 31, the Kansas City Chiefs go Nick Marsh,
wide receiver at Indiana.
This is a mess.
Nick Marsh is a quality receiver.
He's going to be a good player in the NFL.
I think that if you want to keep Rashee Rice
on this team, which you might not,
it would end up being a hit if you guys don't have Rashee.
But having the slot open and kind of having the midfield separator
would be the best role for Nick Marsh, in my opinion.
He has turned up the gear a little bit this year at Indiana
compared to Michigan State.
Maybe it's just because there's more to play for
when it comes to Indiana.
But good player nonetheless.
You know, it's not a bad selection whatsoever.
Last but not least, the Minnesota Vikings select Trinidad Chambliss,
quarterback out of Ole Miss.
Um, this is a hit.
At the end of the day, this is Kyler Murray
on a five-year cheap contract
rather than paying Kyler Murray a ---- ton of money.
If Kyler wins the Super Bowl,
a lot of quarterbacks don't remain that consistent.
I don't think Kyler has shown to be the main reason why
the Vikings continue to win.
So, honestly, I think it's not a bad idea
to take a shot on a quarterback
who will end up being a really good
asset for the next five.
That's the video.
Let me know what you guys think.
I love you guys.
Thank you so much for watching.
See you later.
Peace.
