Hi everybody, I'm Bobbi of Knitter's Niche.
Welcome to my home. Welcome to my Knitter's Niche.
Today is October 20th, 2026.
I almost said October 26th, 2026, but it's not. It's the 20th.
It is a Tuesday afternoon.
It is 3 p.m. here in the northeast corner of Alabama.
Welcome to my new viewers and welcome back to my returning viewers.
You know, my podcast is all about knitting
and you all know how enthusiastic I am about knitting
and I know a lot of you are also.
So we're going to get this going pretty quick. However...
Let me tell you what I'm wearing first.
This is my completed object. I've been working on this.
It's been a whip for a while.
This is the tee called Manolita. And Manolita is designed by
Claudia Quintanilla from Unit Toronto.
And she has a book out right now. And this book
This book is brand new, hot off the presses.
It is called Threads of Memory, Knitting with Meaning. I'm going to put
a link down below so you can get all the information about this book.
You can actually go and purchase this book. It is full
of some beautiful patterns like only Claudia Quintanilla can design.
She is very, very good. She's about lace, soft texture.
This is a short sleeve tee.
But there are some beautiful long-sleeve sweaters in there also,
just a variety of things that you
can knit, everything you can think of,
even accessories that you can knit. So I'm going to
stand up. I'm going to stand up and let you take a look at my tee,
my Manolita tee. The Manolita tee
Isn't this pretty? I have it on with this extraordinary cami.
I had purchased this on
Amazon and if I can find it, I will put the link below.
I love this. It has little, like little
spaghetti straps and it is, has a little V here.
You can kind of see it below, but look at these
nice pointelle lace coming down the front.
It is a solid stockinette in the back.
The sleeves are done three inches down from here,
and then you have an inch of ribbing.
All of my ribbing, I have done a twisted rib.
Well, half twisted rib, because twisted rib,
you will do knit through the back loop for the knit stitch.
The purl stitch, you will just purl
as usual, and I have it on the hem also.
This is gorgeous. The size I knit. See, this starts off
with extra extra small then extra small small
and then medium I chose to knit
Knit the medium because I got to look at,
well, from my swatch, actually,
I found that that's the size that would fit me.
If you are having some trouble
finding which size is gonna fit you best,
I would highly recommend Megan Nodeker's Sweater Altering.
classes. It's a course actually
and you can purchase that and you will have all this
information forever. You will get a discount if you use my code
which is knittersniche. I'll put
the link down below and there is a discount for my YouTube viewers.
You can be actually you can
be a subscriber or maybe even not a subscriber.
I would hope that you would subscribe because we do
I do have a lot of fun on this channel.
Anyway, I really wanted to bring that out there
and let you know because not everybody knows about
her course that you can purchase
and you will have it electronically forever. Now, my code is good
forever and you will have a discount of 20% off
if you use the code KnittersNiche when you purchase
the course. When you purchase the course,
all this information is there for you. You will find the
perfect fit for every sweater that you knit.
You actually go off of your own gauge, off of your swatch,
and then there's also a sheet
that you fill in all your body measurements,
and all you do, it tells you what to multiply together,
and it gives you the exact size that you should be knitting.
It works every time.
I did use this on this tee, and it fits to a tee.
It fits wonderful.
Look at these shoulders.
Perfect. Absolutely perfect. And you pick up a knit here.
There are some short rows in the back.
Short rows are so easy. I would do the German short row every time.
I maybe use twisted. What
is it called? I don't even know what the other one's called.
What's it called? What's the other
short row called? I don't know.
Anyway, I think I might, well,
the reason I don't know is because I don't use it.
I haven't used it maybe but one time,
and I think I ripped it out and did something
different in the German short row.
So having said that, take a look at Claudia Quintanilla's book,
and also check out Megan
Noe Decker's Sweater Altering Course.
All right, now, having said that, we need to get going.
We need to get going.
Let's get this going.
And I'm going to tell you all about
My bundle. You know I have to have a theme.
I have a theme yet again. A theme yet again. So we're
going to go into my favorites.
I have got my iPad right here in front of me. And you hear Bella
downstairs barking. I don't know. Maybe someone's here.
My husband's home, so that's okay.
You know, I kind of went back
and forth on what I wanted to call this bundle, what I
wanted to title this episode,
and in here the bundle is called Best Accessories for
Fall-Winter 2026, but it's more than accessory,
it is a silhouette, it is something that is
now trending, it's hot right now on Ravelry,
it's top picks on Instagram.
I mean, I can't even think of all the ways
to say it other than it is a big deal right now.
And a lot of designers have jumped on the bandwagon with this.
You know, I knit one of these years ago.
I don't know where it is.
I mean, years ago, like a couple of decades ago, actually.
And I don't know where it's at.
Okay, what is the accessory?
What do you think?
It's not a sweater, obviously, because it's an accessory.
It is something that you layer with.
You can wear it over a coat. You can wear it over a blouse.
You can wear it over a turtleneck.
You can wear it, actually, I guess you could wear it with nothing
under it. I would. I don't know.
I don't know about wearing nothing under it. Okay, here we go.
Let me get my notes down here
and we're going to take a look at some of the names that they call
this accessory. It's called a poncho, a swancho,
a shrug, a snood, a cape, or a capelet. And there
might even be some more terms that you would call this accessory.
We're going to talk about the flow
capelet. Here it is. This is by Marika. Oh my gosh.
One of the main reasons, I'm going to start right
Right off the bat, why I love this pattern.
And you know, I get excited.
I love it because I love brioche. I knit brioche decades ago.
I used to sell hats and I would knit
them in a bulky yarn, big yarn, big needles.
However, when you are knitting brioche, you will
be using a much smaller needle size than is suggested by the yarn.
The reason being is you
In the round below, you're also doing it with a yarn over.
So you are using more yarn and you need to keep a little more tension.
If you used the size of needle that's required by that yarn,
it would be floppy. It wouldn't be firm.
It wouldn't be squishy. In other words, it wouldn't be squishy.
So you could do this in a solid color if you want to, but why?
Why not do it in some stripes?
So I'm going to show you some of the yarn that I already have,
and then I got a package today from
Wool & Co. I'm going to show you what came in that package today.
So here's some of the yarn that I
already have. Now the yarn I'm going to be using
is Encore by Plymouth Yarn. Now you're going to
see what the yarn is made up of. It says right here on the front.
It is made up of 75% acrylic and 25% wool.
Now, you might say,
Bobbi, why did you choose that?
Because of the acrylic?
Well, I chose it because it makes this item very wearable.
It's something that you can throw in the wash easily
because you want to use this when it's cold outside.
Even when it's cool outside,
you could use it right now in the evenings here.
In the evenings here, we've gotten down into,
well, 41, it was 41.
Late last night, early, early this morning.
So we have this color here, a tan.
This is a kind of a, you know, a grayish color,
a darker gray, a blue here, and then, of course, a red.
I'll put up the inspiration.
Should I put it here?
I'll put it here.
I'll put up the inspiration here
so you can take a look at the picture
of the one that I would like to knit,
the colorway I'd like to knit.
So let me grab my Woolen Company bag here.
I just opened it up. I haven't looked at all the colors yet,
and I do know what I ordered.
So here's the bag. Here's the bag.
And I love the happy knitting on there. I love it.
And then Woolen Co. Woolen Co. is located in Elgin,
Illinois, which is near Chicago.
I'm in Chicago.
I ordered off of their website. They never charge shipping.
If it is being shipped within the United
States, they never charge shipping.
So that's always my go-to is Woolen Co. in Elgin, Illinois.
So I've already pulled this color out here. This is called Sunflower.
And you'll see by the picture over here
that this is one of the colors that's used.
I love this and I'm really you know I have knit with this before
and I'll show you what I had knit in just a little bit.
What I have knit in the past a
couple years ago and it still looks really, really nice.
Which other colors did I get here?
Oh yes, I got this green.
I needed a green, as you can see here. And this one is called,
I wrote the, I had to write the number, excuse me,
I had to write the names down because these
just have numbers. But I always think it's kind
of nice to know the color, the actual name.
This is called Greenhouse. The number is 1233.
Isn't that beautiful?
And I really wanted to go with colors
that kind of give you that fall inspiration
because fall is here for a little while.
You know, we have Thanksgiving in November,
so we can still, wouldn't this be great to show up on Thanksgiving Day
wearing over your trench coat or wearing over a long blouse?
Very nice.
Or you could do a cami like this one I have on today.
all right so we have the green what i say that was called greenhouse
and what else do we have in
here what else do we have let's see i haven't looked
at all i can't remember oh yes of course
this is a deep dark chocolate let's see what it's called
um it's called deep brown deep brown
Now I'm assuming this is their new label
because some of the other ones I have over here you've
noticed probably have a different label.
So that's another color I'm going to be using.
What else is in here? Okay this of course this is your basic
but you really need that contrast
between all of these beautiful fall colors.
And this is called let's see here it is called
It's called sand. This is called sand.
Beautiful. As you can see, this color is in that stripe pattern.
This is going to be nice. I have
a bunch of these. And what else is in here?
Oh, this deep burgundy. Is it called deep burgundy?
I think maybe it is. It is deep burgundy.
And the number is 999. Is that right? Yes.
This is a deep burgundy. You know,
I think the colors that are really going to stand out beautifully
With a burgundy of course it's going
to be that sunflower. It's going to be nice.
Nice.
This deep brown will be beautiful.
Oh my goodness. This is going to be so so nice.
Is that it? Let me see. That's it.
Okay, so how many colors do I have? You know, you could
use however many colors that you would like.
Let's take a look at this one, too.
There's some marling, so it looks like it's a yarn.
Maybe it's marled in itself, or maybe it's
two held together. Okay, this is a worsted weight project.
Could you use DK weight and hold two
fingering together? I would hold two fingering together
and maybe throw in a mohair. The next
The next one we're going to talk about
Okay, this one's by PetiteKnit.
And you know when PetiteKnit puts out a pattern,
everybody gravitates to it.
It's called the Ivy Cape by PetiteKnit. It is considered a bulky
weight yarn. Now she has chosen Camelry Snuff Nug.
Now Snuff Nug, I went and researched this
and I thought if I wanted to use that for the size that I would need,
how much would that cost me?
Well, if I used the Snuff Nug, does that mean hug?
I'm not sure. There's 120 yards is 50 grams.
Okay. So those are $14 a ball.
And for a medium, which would
be five 50 gram balls would run you
And the Snuff Nug is considered...
A bulky weight yarn. It is a bulky weight yarn.
So that would be the only one you need to hold.
No, don't need to hold two together or anything.
So that's the Ivy Cape. Again, I really like the
idea of maybe, I'm thinking, this is what made me think of this.
It's just looking at the Ivy
Cape and thinking, I think that she's taken...
A sweater pattern started off here because it is top down,
started off, did the shoulders,
and then did some calculated increases because you do want to,
it's going to fit over your arms.
So not, you know, of course you're usually used
to knitting this diameter.
When you split, split for sleeves, of course,
but before you split for sleeves, you're always here.
So I think like right in here and then you split for sleeves here.
So if you continue to knit straight down.
And put some increases strategically around.
Um,
You can kind of take your measurement maybe.
I don't know.
I bet just some of you out there could do it.
I bet you get your favorite sweater
that you love the way the shoulders fit.
Use that yarn and just make your own maybe.
Very nice.
It does have that saddle shoulder in this pattern though.
I really like that.
That's one of the things I like so much about the Ivy Cape.
All right, let's go on to the third one.
Guess how many we have? What's the usual? 10? Yeah,
yes, 10. We have 10. The Indigo Frost is by Isabel Kramer.
I like this. Now, however,
if you look at the pictures here,
you will see that it looks like it's a little too drapey to me.
It is done with worsted weight yarn.
She recommends and has used for this pattern,
Cascade Yarns, Cascade 220 Heathers.
And this was released October of 2015.
So this has been around for 11 years.
And this goes from extra small to extra, extra large.
There was block sizing. And what I mean by block sizing,
it goes extra small, small is one size.
Small, medium is another. Large, extra large is your third size.
And extra large, extra, extra large
would be your fourth size. They call that block sizing.
One of the great things I like about this
is the color work and I think this gives
a new knitter a chance to learn to knit in the round
and also to learn some color work.
It says in here the indigo frost is a great little
capelet slash poncho works seamlessly
from the top down with a loose turtleneck.
I need a loose turtleneck because I have a loose neck.
We talk about this about every week.
And an easy four-color slip stitch pattern band on the yoke.
Okay, easy is the key word here.
Eyelets on the bottom. You could
do that or not do that. It wouldn't matter.
The cute deep two-by-one ribbing for the neck and the bottom edge.
And it's shorter length.
Makes this capelet a modern take on a classic,
traditional fashion piece, which it does.
And I want to show you some of these.
There's one here that actually has done an I-cord here.
And then off the I-cord, there's some little pom-poms.
I love that.
Very, very nice.
If I were to knit this, I would knit the smallest size.
Again.
Or you could also call that bridge sizing, I guess.
Block sizing, bridge sizing.
I think it's bridge sizing, actually.
So this is extra small, small.
I would go with that size.
But I really like, and let's take a close-up here.
We're going to take a look at a close-up here,
and we're going to look at the slip stitch color work.
It's four color, and it says it's easy,
which, you know, slip stitch is easy, very easy.
I think this would be fantastic for a beginner knitter.
I love this.
Again, I do not know that I would do it
as wide as she has toward the bottom.
It just looks like it would just be too wide for what I want.
I kind of want that more snug.
It doesn't have to be snug,
but more narrow silhouette with the capes or the ponchos,
the ponchos, the shrugs, you know, whatever you want to call it.
Love this idea. Love it. Love it. Love it.
All right. That's the fourth one we're going to
talk about today. And there is 10 of them.
The Lind, L-I-N-D. I believe that's how you say that.
Lind, L-I-N-D. And this is by Woolfolk Design Team.
It is knit with bulky weight yarn.
The bulky weight yarn they chose is Woolfolk Luft,
L-U-F-T, 55% merino, 45% pima cotton.
I like the idea of that added pima cotton.
You were going to get good structure
with that and you were going to, it's not going
to, I think combined with the wool,
that would be a great, great combination.
50 gram balls.
I went to Wool & Co.'s website and I checked.
Each ball of this yarn is 109 yards and each one's $20.
So.
The cotton chainette tube filled with wool merino fleece.
It's perfect for maintaining the shape
and feels fantastic on your skin, which it would.
When you have merino and you have cotton together,
that would feel beautiful on your skin.
You're going to use a US 10, which is 6.0 millimeter needles.
You need 500 to 600 yards,
which would be 457 meters to 549 yards.
The size I would knit would mean I need five balls,
$20 a piece, that's going to be $100.
$100,000.
The drape of the neckline is one
of the things I really like about this pattern.
I also like the long split after the shoulders,
which makes it possible to wear layered over a blouse
and layered under a coat.
And over a coat, you know,
almost kind of works like a dickie because when you have this split
starting right here and it comes on down,
it gives you some room to move, to move your arms through
there. So you could wear it under your coat.
I love the look of this and the way she's wearing
this. The model is wearing this. She has a long sleeve.
It looks like a button down blouse.
Love that. Love the look
of a long sleeve button down blouse. You can't go wrong.
The color snood is designed by Bobbi.
Her name is spelled just like mine. Isn't that something?
Intveld. I-intveld. Intveld. I-N-T-V-E-L-D for Blue Sky Fibers.
It was released in August of 2022.
Wool stock is the yarn used again
in this pattern as it was in the previous one.
Uh, you will need the wool stock bundle.
I'll put a picture of it up here on Wool and Company's
website. It's called the 27 color bundle is $44.
Um, and let's see here. It's a hundred percent
Highland wool, which is worsted,
or you could use Knit Picks Palette, a skein for a 50 grams skein.
You could use Knit Picks Wool of Andes,
which is $4.99 for a 50-gram skein.
You know, and they run sales all the time on Knit Picks.
Or you could use Wool of the Andes Superwash,
which is $4.79 for a 50-gram cake or ball.
Or any fingering weight yarn held together.
That would work perfectly. DK weight, use up your
stash. Use up your stash with this one. I love this.
I really like the drapiness with the collar.
It gives it a cowl look. Here's what I like about this pattern.
Now, it is written bottom up. You
will knit this bottom up. I don't think there'd be any problem with it.
Other than you really want to check,
and you could just shimmy over because the bottom up,
this is going to be the widest part.
So you could put it around you and see, okay,
how, when do I want to start these decreases
to bring in the shoulders into the mix here?
It's an easy stripe color work.
You could incorporate all of your stash that you might have,
some minis that you might have.
Like I said, if they're fingering just hold two together,
it would be a DK weight, even though
this is considered a worsted weight pattern.
You could squeak by. But if you're going to do that,
I would make your main color a DK weight also.
And you know what? And one of the main reasons
Since I like this too, it will coordinate with
Anything in your closet, anything in your wardrobe,
the colors that you already have,
you can find a color in there that would coordinate
with a top that you have, a pair of slacks,
a blouse. Love this. I just love the whole idea of this silhouette.
I love the whole idea
of a snood, a shrug, a poncho, this kind of poncho.
I like it a lot. All right, the next one
we're going to talk about, you know,
if we're going back to more of a ribbed one, all over ribbed,
And we were talking about the flow cape, which was brioche.
Now, if you really don't want to do a brioche,
I have a free pattern here that I have found
from Pearl Soho.
It is called the Simple Ribbed Shrug.
Again, it's a free pattern, so that's one thing I really like about it.
This was released in February of 2024, so about a year and a half ago.
It is knit with Purl Soho Plain Air DK,
which is 67% merino and 33% cotton. So you've got that
structure there. You've got that softness of the wool
also on your body. The size I would knit
would need three skeins. So they're $21.90 a piece. So, um,
Well, we're talking about probably $65, $66 to knit this.
Or, of course, if you've got, it's DK,
so if you've got a couple of fingering weight
yarns you want to help to hold together, this would be perfect.
So like I said, if you really don't want to do a brioche shrug,
take a look at this one.
US 6 needles, which is 4.0 millimeter.
The gauge is 28 stitches and 28 rows equal four inches.
Any DK weight yarn would work wonderfully
for this versatile, elegant shrug.
The next one we're gonna talk about
is another Purl Soho pattern.
Um, now this one is not free.
I believe, hang on, let me make sure. I think this is a paid for
pattern. No, this one is free. This one is free also.
The Poetic Poncho. It was released in
February of 2025. Um, a DK weight yarn is needed.
US 6, which is 4.0 millimeter needle. 20 stitches
plus 29 rows equal four inches in stockinette.
There are three sizes. If I knit the size that
That I would need.
I would need 680 yards of yarn, DK weight yarn,
and let's take a look at why I like this so much.
I'll put some pictures here. Take a look at the different ways.
They show three different ways
that you can wear this poncho. This pattern is a rectangle.
It is knit flat. So you are knitting a
Creating a rectangle.
I believe you're folding it over.
You're seaming just a short amount of this and then you leave the
rest open. And let's take a look at the different ways you can wear
this. I love this. I would choose
a nice, really nice yarn to knit this with. Let the yarn show itself.
Really use something nice here.
It's very simple, very clean, very basic, but it's a much-needed
basic accessory that you can put over your coat,
shirt, another sweater, a turtleneck,
anything that you choose to. A cute little dress would work also.
In the beginning, when I was
saying all the different names that you could call this accessory,
this silhouette, this accessory,
Number three, I mentioned Swancho.
And the only time I have ever seen it called Swancho
was by Caitlin Hunter.
Now this was released,
I'll put the pattern here for you to take a look at.
This is the, I don't know how to pronounce it,
the Ninnishik, Ninnishik, Ninnishik, Ninnishik,
Okay, I tried.
All right, Swan Show by Caitlin Hunter,
released February of 2017.
I'm a teen.
There are 2,272 projects on Ravelry.
This was a big one,
and I think it still continues to be a big contender
in this category.
It's knit with a DK weight yarn,
US 4, 3.5 mil, or US 6, which is 4.0 millimeter.
Group sizing or block sizing as they say,
extra small through medium is one size and a large
through 3X is another size.
It is designed in a way, just the drapiness of the yarn, the way it's
constructed, the shoulders, everything about it,
the sleeves, are you kidding me? So cool. Everything
about it makes it hang beautifully yet makes it
very comfy like wrapping a blanket around you.
As I said right here, comfy as being wrapped in a blanket.
The clever construction of the sleeves
are genius. I love it. Style meets comfort in this Swancho.
Very, very nice. I love Caitlin
Hunter anyway. The very first colorwork sweater I had ever done
was by Caitlin Hunter, so I have
a soft spot in my heart for Caitlin. Love her patterns.
Number 10. Of these, it's more than one.
pattern. Though I've knit two of them. You know what?
I don't. I meant to bring them up here.
Hang on. Let me go get them. Okay, I'm back.
This is the Cinch Shrug. Now the Cinch Shrug
is sold separately. This is done with Aran weight yarn.
What I did, I used DK weight yarn. I held
I've nailed two fingering weight yarns together
And this yarn, I love it so much.
I believe it's called Manicure, and this is by Yarn Cafe Creations.
She's one of my top,
top yarn dyers that I just really love everything that she dyes.
I do like her so much.
She's one of the very first ones I'd, well, I think she was the first.
yarn dye that I had ever ordered
from and I would recommend any hand dyed yarn skeins that you have
and you really don't know what to do with.
You don't, you really don't want what to do with it.
You want to do something special. You will wear this shrug.
This is a paid for pattern. It is
seven dollars and the Cinch Shrug
is a top-down shrug designed for Big Birdie and Big Birdie is
as a yarn out there,
but you can also use whatever yarn you have.
Um, the shaping will frame your face. It will hug your neck.
It will bring these beautiful colors.
You know, I wanted to choose a makeup color,
a makeup color that would be very complementary to
maybe about anybody's complexion. So I chose this color again.
It's called manicure. The pattern
That includes
Tables illustrating the rates of increase to customize your fit.
So you can customize your fit.
She tells you how to do it in the pattern.
There's so many things in here, a lot of information.
I appreciate that.
I don't mind at all spending $7 for something
that's going to give me some more information.
You might think this is a basic pattern and very easy,
but there's a lot more to it than you think
because these increases that she has put
in here are strategically placed.
I had to go down in needle size.
Therefore, I had to cast on more stitches.
So I had to figure out how I was going to do that.
This is the Vivian stripe.
This is the Vivian and she tells you how to do this.
She tells you how to knit a jogless stripe,
you know, because when you're knitting in
the round, it's a spiral actually.
So when you go into the next round, it's going to be like this.
You're not going to have an even beginning and ending on your stripes.
So this pattern tells you how to do that.
All right. Again, this is the Sin Shrug by Jackie Rose.
I would highly recommend it.
This is a foundation piece.
This is something, actually, you know what? If you're a fairly new
knitter, I would highly recommend this also
because all you're doing is knitting and purling
and your increases, they're not hard at all.
And what's so great about YouTube is you can go
On YouTube and search, you know,
whatever increase she's telling you to do.
You can find out how to do it that way, too.
She also has a video in YouTube.
Um, that tells you how to do the tubular bind off
and the tubular cast on, which after I used
this, after Jackie Rose, I watched her video.
That's the one I used for a long time. I use a
different one now, but that's really what started me going
on the tubular bind off and the tubular
cast on. So again, I'd highly recommend any
of Jackie Rose's shrug patterns. Absolutely. Absolutely.
Absolutely.
I did the Saturday Shrug.
Now, I went into Jackie Rose's patterns here,
and I had thought that none of these were free anymore,
but they are.
The Saturday Shrug is a free pattern.
It says a free Ravelry download.
So, yay.
Okay, this was put out in January of 2023.
Again, this is a layering piece
that you will be able to put over a coat,
a blouse, shirt, tank, whatever.
It is the perfect thing to wear this time of year.
So I'm going to step over here and I'm going to put it on.
Hang on. I'm back. This is the Saturday
shrug. Now the Saturday shrug is a, it is a tube.
Now you're kind of getting the illusion that this
is cinched in and I might have some, if it's top down,
there might be some increases or if it's
bottom up, there might be some, no,
it is the way that these stripes are formed. The sequence of
Of the stripes, I should say, and here we go.
It's a longer one.
And you know what? I'm going to do the cinch
one again, the one I just had on.
I'm going to do that longer.
I made mine a little, I sketched on fewer stitches here.
And I knit this with worsted weight yarn.
Now, this, she says, is done with a bulky weight yarn.
So I went by the pattern.
Um
It says US 9. I went down to a US 8.
I used these two colors to knit this.
And then I have this dark gray here, down here.
And then the yarn, I think it's downstairs.
It wasn't an Encore yarn that this is.
This is the Cascade 220
you.
Worsted Weight Superwash yarn.
And it comes in a skein like this.
It comes in a skein like that.
So I love this so much.
Now, to knit this again, I would cast on more stitches.
If I'm going to wear it over a coat, wear it over a wool coat,
I want to have more to work with here.
You can actually.
Pull this down. Pull it down the back and it stays there.
It'll stay. I love this. This is
so pretty. I do have my little camisole underneath here
because it's warm up here.
Okay, so the whole idea of this bundle is to make you aware
of what's really hot right now, trending right now, what's new
and trending, what's some top picks on Instagram, on Ravelry.
Ravelry calls it what's hot now. It is the silhouette.
It's the silhouette of the shrug, the poncho, the swancho.
um the capelet, they are really big perfect time
of year to knit one of these it's one of
those knit now wear now patterns that you should take advantage
of while we have time now you can
knit these perfect christmas gifts i would love
to receive something like this if i wasn't a knitter
i would absolutely love it of course
as knitters we can knit them ourselves this is a tube it's
It's basically a tube.
It is, I think it's a one-by-one. Yeah, a one-by-one rib.
It's been a little while since I've worn this.
I do love this. This yarn is very soft.
Thank you very much.
You know, it does have acrylic in it, and it does have merino in it.
Well, it has acrylic and wool
in it. It is very soft. It's a sturdy, good wool.
If you could see, there's no pilling.
No pilling on this at all. I love this.
I really, really do. This would be so cute with a ribbed
hat like a fully ribbed hat that would be amazing
Okay, I have another quick change here. This is the Zuri Tee,
and this is by Tokes Knits, and I love this so much.
This was knit with Isager yarn, Trio and Isager yarn.
It starts with an M.
Thank
Anyway, I'll put the information down here for you to take a look.
I have it sitting right up
here. So I thought I would just put that on.
This feels so nice on my body right now. Love it. Okay.
So what else we're going to talk about?
You know, do you recall, I am re-knitting. This is my
you.
original one that I had knit.
I am knitting the Magnolia Bloom. It's by, is it?
Camilla Vaad, I think. I think it's by Camilla Vaad.
And I'm going to show you how much I've
got done and the yarn that I decided to knit it with.
But I've used Megan's course to let you know
that, okay, I'm doing it. So we're going to see how it turns out.
All right, here we go. I couldn't
think what yarn did I want to use?
All of you know that I really like Purl Soho's Linen Quill.
I'm holding linen quill yarn with
They're beautiful mohair. Pearl Soho's beautiful mohair.
I think you pronounce it tussock,
T-U-S-S-O-K. It is so soft.
This is the softest mohair I have ever laid my hands on. Nice thing
about this one, I mean, this one's really slick and beautiful.
And the color, the color is called
Beach Stone. So I'm holding these two together and let me show you.
Look how cute these are.
How cute, isn't it sweet?
And then the bond winder, and then this is,
I mean, literally that's how small it is.
If you want to take a look and see,
see how the mohair, it's not real, real fluffy.
It's like just so silk-like and beautiful.
But I want to show you the material,
but the material it knits up is outstanding.
So right now, where I'm at in the pattern,
I have decided what size I should be knitting
because holding these two together equals a
DK weight and I needed a worsted weight yarn.
So what I did with her course, I put all my numbers
in, based it off of my swatch.
I don't have it up here off of my swatch. And I came up with the
size that I need to knit.
So I'm going to show it to you how squishy and gorgeous this is. Now,
Now, when I block it, this is gonna block smooth.
So you have...
The folded under, there's the edge there.
That's the inside edge. The folded under
neckband, it's done in a knit one, purl one.
So right now I have started the, I've started the
chart. So I'm doing, they call them nips.
Some people call them a bobble, but these are called
nubs and they're not hard to do.
And what I did was I just went on YouTube and I searched
how to knit nubs because it's different than how you knit a bobble.
People have different versions,
different ways they knit it, and it really is not hard at all.
So I would say all you do is
just search that and someone actually has a video out there.
Well, they were knitting
the magnolia bloom and they were showing how
to knit the nub. So that's what I used.
So we're starting there.
So I'm moving along there.
You know, the majority of my time, it's so funny,
and maybe you're the same way, but
it takes me, the majority of my time I'm using
to figure out what yarn I'm going to use,
what pattern I'm going to knit.
Well, I already knew what pattern I was going to knit
because I wanted to re-knit the Magnolia
Bloom.
So we're going to see how it goes.
I'm going to keep you up to date because,
again, I'm using Megan Noeckers' Altering
a Sweater Patterns course.
Of course.
So.
So far, so good. I've tried this on and I put barbapoles.
I put the little, I use an extension
on this and I try to put it over my head.
It fits me perfectly. I'm doing it just like it said. But
this yarn I talked about, it's, I think it's called Homegrown.
It's wool. It's 100% wool.
It's by Lion Brand and it just doesn't feel very good.
You can just hear it. Hear it?
It just doesn't feel smooth. It just doesn't feel smooth.
So I am going to re-knit this pattern
using Megan's course. So go ahead and take a look at that.
It's only, you'll get 20%
off by using my code knitters niche.
I love this so much. I'm really enjoying doing this.
So this is the first round that I'm doing the nubs
and there's not a whole lot of,
a lot of them in there.
As you can see, it's not a complicated pattern at all.
So I'm right here right now. This right here.
Cute. Very nice. Very nice. The increases are
simple. They're just to make ones right now from what I remember.
Okay. All right. What
else should we talk about? I think that's it. I think. Is that it?
Okay, just a reminder, please go on to Claudia Quintanilla's website
