Bill, Alex, and Mike on the airwaves giving what you like.
Topics on fleek, 11 o'clock every day of the week.
Sweet on Fox Local.
You didn't give us our graphic.
Maybe they didn't know either.
Where's my AI head?
It's what happened with our AI graphic.
We had it all set in for the transition that we were going
to have with Bill, Alex, and Buster in the building.
It's bab today.
How are you, sir?
I'm great. How are you guys living?
Good. Good. Appreciate you coming in.
Thanks for having me. Let's roll, man.
Let's do this.
All kinds of things to jump into and talk about.
I got questions.
Yeah.
I want to talk about what we ended the show
with yesterday, about the whole...
Yeah, I heard you got hot over an upcharge.
Hot's probably a little excessive.
I got shamed for asking about an upcharge.
Okay.
We are all on board with you, by the way.
But before we get to that...
So, what were you doing with the wrestling or something?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
So, it's me and my crew, BTA.
We're a local wrestling faction.
We get booked to do events.
We're heels.
We're bad guys, because it's a lot more fun to do it that way.
But we also run sort of our own media publication about wrestling,
especially all things local.
And then we mix in some local sports, and that's sort of fun.
But it's fun.
It's a good time.
Shout out to BTA.
Yeah, I saw it on your page.
I think that's a little bit of everything.
Yeah, I tried to, man.
And, you know, since
It's more fun that way.
I think that's sort of the cool license that I get
to being on the radio in Philadelphia.
It's a market that's big enough to where
when you're a media personality around here,
you can kind of have your hands in everything.
I like it. It came from radio.
So I love seeing people doing all the things.
All right, so as we were ending yesterday,
off camera, we were having the fun conversations in studio.
So you got shamed.
Yeah.
What happened?
And a little bit was on camera, I think,
but I was at eating, you know, with one of my friends,
and there was a drink on the menu that said,
oh, it could be gin or vodka.
And I was going through, I was asking questions about the drink,
and they said, oh, you can actually get tequila in it if you want.
I said, oh, that'd be perfect.
Sure, I'll take it with tequila.
Great.
We move on.
I ate my meal, and then the bill comes.
And I look, and I'm like, oh, that was more
expensive than I thought it would be.
And I looked, and they charged me about $5.
It was $4.50, so about $5 for getting tequila.
So when they came, I said, oh, I didn't know
that that was going to be extra.
And they're like, oh, is that okay?
And I'm like, well, it is what it is.
Oh, is that okay?
Poor woman.
Is that too much?
Yeah, they definitely got you.
So then I said, well, it is what it is now.
And then my friend, after they walked away, like.
Alex, are you for real?
I'm like, what?
They're like, it's $4.50.
Did you have to do that?
No, but good on you for saying something.
Yeah, because I was like, well, I didn't know.
They're like, that should be a given.
I'm like, why is that a given?
I already said it could be vodka or gin.
And then you suggested that I add another drink.
You didn't mention it.
And it's.
They're almost $5.
I used to work at a pizza place where, you know, I was a teenager,
and listen, I might have been guilty of a lot of things at that point,
and this is definitely one of them.
We
We were kind of like spiffed, bonused,
for getting people to try new products.
And one of the things was a different type of crust.
It was like a flavored crust thing.
It was an extra $2.
So I'm on the phone.
All right, cool.
Would you like to try the new garlic-flavored crust today?
I'm not telling them it's another $2.
Ah!
You know?
Yeah.
That's totally what happened with you.
Yeah.
I mean, they got me.
But then I ended up, I was so embarrassed because I was shamed.
Like, oh, my gosh, this is for, I can't believe you.
It's $4.50.
So I went, I was like, I'm so sorry.
I just was, I didn't know.
Did you apologize?
Yes, I apologized.
Oh, you made it worse?
I felt so embarrassed that apparently I
embarrassed myself by bringing it up.
And she said, so then later she was like, well, at dinner,
you know, we can only order as much as you can afford.
Don't feel pressure.
And I'm like, okay, well, hold on.
So I'm like, listen.
Listen, it's not about the amount.
It's the principle.
Well, it's a little bit about the amount.
But I said, even if I ask for extra dressing in my salad
and you charge me 50 cents, I'm
going to bring that up too.
Like, why didn't you say, when you're like,
sure, I'll bring you extra dressing.
Like, I feel like I want to know everything up front.
I'll bring you extra dressing, but it's a little bit of an upcharge.
Is that all right?
Like, that's what I'm used to.
I got to be honest.
I don't know.
Sometimes when they tell me like, oh, did you know guac's more?
I'm like, what do I look, broke?
What more am I?
I said guac.
Well, me, I am.
Like, I was broke.
Well, here's the thing, you know.
You got wronged.
And, you know, you got blazed in that restaurant when you left.
Oh, Miss TV lady was worried about the extra five.
All right.
Okay, things must be tough over there.
I mean, listen, inflation, people getting laid off left and right.
Yeah, yes, I got to count everything.
We need to be stocking up, okay?
Okay.
I was actually with you.
Rations for Alex.
You know what you can do with $4.50?
At least then?
That's a whole kid's meal.
I can get a whole drink.
That's a couple trips to the vending machine.
I could go crazy.
Yeah, that's a couple hours of parking.
I was on your side.
I'm still on your side, but I'm also the person
who acknowledges almost every show that I'm cheap.
And so I put it out there.
I am cheap.
I would have felt the same way.
And I'd have been annoyed at my friend.
That's going to be like, oh, is it okay, Bill?
You can't handle it?
I'm sorry.
No, the server said, is that okay?
That was the server.
But then my friend was like, oh, my God, like, girl.
See, I don't know about you guys, but maybe, like, growing up broke.
Like, we grew up white trash to where, like,
nowadays when someone tells me, like, you know, hey.
You go the opposite way.
Just so you know, it's going to be an extra whatever.
I'm like, oh, well, then let me get to that.
Go see how I'm living.
They can poke you into spending more money.
So there's never been a time where you've seen something like,
dang, if I had known it
cost that much, I wouldn't have gotten this.
Yeah, but I just don't say it.
Oh, okay.
So I'm supposed to just cry at home, huh?
I just eat it.
I'm like, all right, damn.
I'm not getting that again.
And I have had that.
Because that's the worst feeling.
You see it on the check.
Yeah.
Like, what?
I didn't plan on that one.
Right.
Or we've been in situations where we've
been hosting events and parties.
And, you know, sometimes things are comped.
Owners will be like, hey, we're going to take care of you guys.
We're going to do this.
Sometimes,
I guess maybe you sort of think
it's implied, and you're like, oh, okay, cool.
And then they bring you over the bill
later, and you're like, oh, the
whole price.
They're paying the whole thing to do it.
Oh, full break.
I feel like if they offer,
that's where it should be. The fact that he, it wasn't
my idea to have tequila in it. That was your idea.
I feel like if you bring it up, or they say,
would you like extra, I feel like that's a trap.
Would you like some extra bread? Sure,
I'll take extra bread. And then you charge me, like,
I wasn't thinking about it until you said it. You can't suggest
it and just up the check.
Like, if you're getting the sides,
here are the sides that are available.
It's like, oh, you know, do you want so-and-so?
It's going to be a little upcharge,
but you can present the option to people.
Now, she was trying to get one past the goalie and get that.
That bill a little higher
so that the percentage increase for the tip is going to be higher.
Well, my friend said that if you change out the alcohol,
bartenders weigh in if you're watching.
If you change out the alcohol, it should be given
that it's going to be an upcharge, which I did not know.
Why would it be?
Why is gin and vodka a different price than the tequila?
Is tequila more expensive than that?
I don't know.
Sometimes they may say it's a higher end.
Yeah.
If you want the tequila, but we only carry.
I don't know.
1942.
Patron.
Right.
Then you have to put,
but to just change out the type of alcohol.
She didn't hit you with the brand.
She wasn't like,
oh, do you want Don Julio?
No, now that I would have remembered.
No, because I would have been like,
give me the house.
No, I'm kidding.
Whatever got on the floor in the back.
That's what I'll take.
What did you make out of potatoes? That's what I want.
Wanted to express this story.
We'll keep the conversation going.
We do have a question of the day.
So we're going to get to the question of the day.
But first, give us 15 seconds.
At Quarter Madness, we eat, sleep, and breathe personal injury.
Our clients are our family, and we protect our family.
People can rely on us as if they could rely on a family member.
We know exactly what to do.
That's why people call us.
Alright, jumping in to continue the conversation.
I'm Bill, Alex, Buster in the building.
As we're jumping, I'm sitting here looking at people.
The comments are already starting to come in.
What's the question?
People just saying things.
Was that the question of the day?
No, it wasn't.
They're weighing in on that?
Oh no!
Angry Al was just like, when she asked, was it okay?
I would have asked, was it real tequila?
Thank you.
That is a good follow-up.
Like, oh, I noticed there was an upcharge.
Did you give me something good in there?
Oh, see, I was...
See, I think of stuff and find out after the fact.
I'm not slick, y'all.
He's like, yeah, I mean, if you're going
to upcharge me, you hook me up.
Yeah.
What did you put in it?
So what's up, then?
There you go.
All right.
Question of the day.
If you go to, you go get your hair done.
We go to the barbershop or what have you.
And a lot of places have a late fee.
Like if you arrive late, they'll charge you extra money, right?
Or a no-show cancellation fee.
There's a cancellation fee.
So there was a person, let's pull up his tweet
or X or whatever they call it nowadays.
He went, and I had to blur out some of the language, so bear with me.
So he went to his barber.
Barber has a whole paragraph.
on late fees and he's gonna charge you 20 bucks
and apparently has charged this guy 20 bucks
when he got stuck in traffic before
so he was on time for his appointment but the barber was late
the barber arrives late with a breakfast sandwich tells
the guy here hold on for
a second i'm gonna eat a little something
so he ends up being half an hour late
Cutting the guy's hair.
While he sat there and watched him eat the breakfast sandwich?
He sat there and watched him eat the breakfast sandwich.
Then he sends him the $50 charge, and the guy only pays him $30.
When the barber asked why, he was like, you said there's a late fee.
You said that we're supposed to be respecting time.
You didn't respect my time,
so I'm only paying you the charge minus the late fee.
And the guy banned him from ever coming back to his barbershop.
I mean, it's like, it's one of those things where I think
that might be, like, fair in street knowledge.
Like, I guess one plus one equals two there.
You said that there's a late fee, so I'm charging you the late fee.
I respect my time, too.
I get that.
And I get why that sounds fair in his head.
But he doesn't own the barbershop, so he doesn't get to make the rules.
So, sorry to you.
Okay.
So you've been cool with it?
I don't know about cool.
I mean, I'm sure I'm, I mean, there's times where
my barber, you know, I get there at
a certain time and I'm like, come on, let's go, let's go, let's go.
But again, I don't, it's not Buster's Barbershop,
so I got to roll with it.
Those are the rules.
You have to wait a little bit.
How would you feel about it?
Yeah, I don't think I'd do that because I agree.
It's like, I didn't sign an agreement to
Adhere to the rules or whatever.
I wouldn't, I mean, I'd be annoyed a little bit.
So there's not much you can do about it.
Maybe just find a different barber.
Hopefully somebody cuts just as good.
But there's been an ongoing discussion about people
and how they feel about getting services done and how they're treated.
Whether it's women, I guess men too.
Y'all deal with it.
I remember one time I had a friend,
they went to a barber shop, got their haircut.
It was all right.
They went back and he's like, oh yeah,
man, I'm coming for you again this time.
He's like, oh no, I'm on break.
And just went and sat over there and said,
you have to go to somebody else.
And he watched me.
He's like, I'm standing here, man.
And, like, you have to go to somebody else who messed him up.
And I was like, whoa, y'all deal with
that kind of stuff in barbershops?
I just think there's also a little bit of, like,
today's world of customer service where there's a lot of that, too.
You know, I walked into a sandwich shop, which should remain nameless,
just in case they spend any money here at Fox.
But I went in there.
Thank you.
I'm looking around, and nobody's behind the counter, right?
And I'm like, where?
Hello?
Like, did someone get abducted in here?
And the woman in the back comes out.
She was on her phone.
No apology, no, oh, I'm sorry I was in there.
Oh, no, how can I help you?
It was a simple, what you want.
Who you want?
What can I get for you?
Were they Gen Z?
Because people talk about Gen Z stare.
I wouldn't hit her with the Gen Z.
Okay.
Was it a chain?
If so, she's lived a hard life.
Was it a chain?
Or a mom and pop shop?
It was a chain.
It's a rough Gen Z.
It's a struggle Gen Z.
Life is hard, man.
Inflation.
Listen, everything going up.
Hey, do you think this guy
who was at the barbershop would have complained if his tequila
would have gotten an upshot?
No, I think the equivalent is, you know,
sometimes the barbershop, when they put the thing around
your face, do they charge more for that?
Yeah, I think so.
But you know they're going to charge more.
So he's going to, oh,
let me put some extra little aftershave on you today.
And you're like, yeah, man, let me try it.
And then you look at the bill, and he's like,
no, that's $15 more because I put it on.
That wouldn't get y'all worked up?
Probably, but we need to take a quick break.
Fun fact, I realized actually just got my hair cut
and realized that I have no idea what my barber charges.
Oh, you must be rich, man.
No, so what happened is,
and I'll tell the story when we come back from the break.
I don't even look at the bill.
I actually felt bad
because I thought I was tipping better than I was.
Quick break.
Yeah.
Bill, Alex, and Mike on the airwaves giving what you like.
Topics on fleek.
Oh, yeah.
So really, it should be Bab.
See?
Yeah, it's Bab.
We hooked it up.
There you go.
Listen, you guys got to give me, let me AI one step at a time.
We got the picture in.
We got the names right.
Now I'm trying to get them to change logos and whatnot.
They start messing up when you start giving them too many things.
Bam wasn't built in a day either.
True story.
All right.
Yeah, so I didn't know.
Going to the barbershop,
I started when COVID came back and they started opening back up again.
I started tipping what I thought was well because, you know,
everything that was going on with COVID and what have you.
And so I was tipping significantly more than the haircut cost.
And I just kept going with that.
And so I was sitting in the chair the other day.
You can't go back now.
Once they get used to what you get, you can't go back one day.
And they're not like they're.
They're affordable, and they do a great job,
and I like going to the place.
So I was like, okay.
Just like a week or so ago, somebody came in to get a cut.
And they were like, how much is the cut?
And they told him.
And I realized that the price had gone up like 10,
12 bucks since I started paying before.
So now...
That range has kind of eaten up most of my tips.
So now I'm just tipping a couple dollars.
Have you noticed that your cut's been like,
Are they putting curse words in the back of your head?
It's a little uneven.
You know what I'm saying?
If it is, it's because my head is uneven.
Did they go lower?
Wait, I think I know.
Instead of a two, they gave you a one?
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
Do I sound like I know what I'm talking about?
You're getting there.
My apologies.
I'm going to have to figure that out.
I was sitting in the chair.
I went, oh.
That's how much a haircut costs.
So now you're actually, you thought you were over tipping.
Now you're under tipping.
Yeah, now I'm the guy when I leave the store,
they're like, oh, Mr. TV guy can't afford to tip me.
I think we should all learn that TV is dying, all right?
So don't be stupid.
Well, I'm just saying.
Don't be assuming.
Y'all should be looking at the content creators.
You're going to content creators.
They got the money.
No, they want it for free.
The content creator wants to be like, come with me to get my haircut.
La, la, la, la, la, la, la.
Is it free?
And I'm not tipping.
But you see there's more and more restaurants or places,
businesses are saying, we don't have a budget.
Don't ask.
We ain't giving you nothing for free.
Like they're already putting it out there.
Yeah.
I think the bubble's bursting with a lot of that influencer lifestyle.
Because everything we're talking about, the expectation.
is that they're going to come on into your establishment
and show their little 12,000 followers
and then they're supposed to get it for free.
But on the flip side, if I'm trying
to figure out where I'm going to go,
I do look at people's reviews.
If it's people you trust.
Not even then, I'll go on TikTok and be like,
I don't know, Nashville places to eat.
And I'll just go through and look at reviews
and that's how I figure out.
I mean, at least I can see for myself.
There's videos.
I get a feel of everything.
I did reviews over the last couple
of vacations I took and did my little thing.
Oh, yeah?
People were checking it out.
And I was like, well, I didn't put that much time into that.
I don't know if you should be trusting me.
But people do that in general.
When I'm going on vacation,
I'll go on YouTube and search wherever I'm going.
Because there will be YouTube vacation people.
To show the rooms.
Then you can actually see.
That's what I want to see.
The amenities.
Yeah.
Right.
And not the professional shots.
Not what they want you to see.
Like what people want you to see.
Because the lighting is always too good.
And they'll do the wrong angle to where it makes the room look all big.
Yeah.
Don't fake me out.
Get there and it's the same.
And then they charge you $4.50 to have an extra room.
Tequila?
Tequila!
What is going on?
I'm not going for them up charges.
I just, oh man.
Now you're going to walk in the restaurant because you're always out.
Both of y'all.
I don't run the streets.
Both of y'all are out doing things.
When they see y'all coming now, Alex is going to walk in and be like.
It's Holly.
But I paid.
It's an extra $4.
I didn't want the record to reflect, yes, I did ask, but I paid it.
Of course you did.
You know, so, yeah, I might ask some
questions, but you won't get your money.
Let the record show that Buster doesn't want to be told
and embarrassed, like, oh, is it okay to check the recorder?
No, put double on there.
So when it says market price, you don't ask what the price is?
No.
What about when they go over the specials
and they list all the specials
because they never say the price for the specials
and you don't ask them?
This is the difference of men and women, though,
because, you know, when we're going out on a date
and before I got married, when I was in dating culture,
you know, I'm not about to nickel and dime the menu
in front of the joint and embarrass myself.
No, it's going to be, yeah, yeah, I'll take the service,
yeah, whatever she wants, and I'm going,
market price, all right.
But now it's your wife.
So now it's all that's done with you.
You don't be going out.
I was the dude who was in the club
I'm waiting for it to get late enough for my direct deposit to hit up.
Oh, I had those days too.
Yeah, hanging out.
And you're going, it's about 11:30.
You want something else?
Oh, sorry.
You keep waiting because direct deposit would hit later in the night.
Let's take a walk around the bar.
I'm having so much fun with you.
What time did it hit? Right at midnight or something?
It would hit, yeah, like around evening time on my radio back in the...
It was like around then or the days when I was running the streets.
I don't know. I wake up and it's there.
So I don't know when it happened.
But I absolutely was the person who would kind of sit there and go...
See, y'all know.
We've all had those days.
It ain't hit up yet.
But is it bad, though, when they list the specials that's off menu?
Because sometimes they don't really say it.
They say, oh, we have this, and da-da-da, and this.
Is it bad?
Oh, well, how much is that?
Because I do do that.
Is that also bad?
If you're paying.
Right.
I don't know that there's a right or a wrong.
I just know what I'm comfortable with.
And to me, again, I don't know if it's my mindset or where I come from,
but I don't want anybody to ever think that I ain't got it.
But what you were so worried about their opinion for?
I don't know.
Live your life.
It's called peacocking.
But here's the problem.
The problem.
I ain't got it.
I got it.
So, it's not an issue.
See, we're the broke TV people.
Charge the radio, man.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
The hallways are just filled with gold.
If you assume I don't have it, and I actually don't have it,
like, how am I going to be offended by you?
Fair enough.
Fair enough.
It's $57, sir, for a turkey burger?
In conclusion, Bill and I will be washing dishes in the back.
We're going to take a quick break, and then we will come back.
We don't mind.
It's fab.
It's Bill, Alex.
Buster in the building and you appreciate you watching.
And yes, I'm cheap. I own it. Fiscally responsible. Okay.
of this ad.
On the airwaves, giving what you like.
Topics on fleek.
11 o'clock every day of the week.
Oh, ****.
I'm learning so much.
We're sitting here.
I'm finding out we're much more
on the same page than I thought we were.
We're both cheap.
It's a completely different thing.
Fiscally responsible.
By the way, I am getting messages from people
who are like, girl, you better ask.
Yeah, they should be telling you.
So thank you, my people.
They exist.
It's not just me.
You don't know what I got.
All right.
All right, so.
Count my coins.
Another question.
Here's
a little clip of
what she had to say.
It's rude to do. It's rude to ask them.
Hey, can I stay at your place?
If they've never offered it,
and especially to not offer them anything back.
I haven't talked to this friend in a while,
and I just message them and say, hey, can
I stay with you?
They might feel used.
They could be in an insecure spot.
They could be going through something.
You really never know what is going on with your friends sometimes.
It's rude to do that.
And by they, she means her.
That's from our Fox 5 station in New York.
People come into town, friends.
Are you cool with them saying,
I want to come stay with you?
Are you cool with somebody texting you out of the blue
saying, hey, I'm coming to town, can I crash?
Well, I think it also, in this scenario,
if it's someone I'm thinking of,
they were also coming for something else, an event,
and the person wasn't invited.
You know, so I'm just crashing.
That's a double negative there.
No way.
Yeah.
They were like, I'm going for the Harry Styles concert.
And you know, what's up with my ticket then?
Yeah, right.
And they were like, so can I come after?
So it was like a whole nother layer.
But in general, like I think if you're
close friends, like you should bring it
or or at least tell you why you can't stay with me kind of thing.
Like, oh, I'm having some work done
or something's happening or whatever.
But I get why it be assumed.
I think it's a time and place thing.
I mean, I used to live in New York and used
to live in an apartment in Manhattan.
And whenever anybody came to town,
it was always the, can we crash at your crib?
Because New York's so expensive.
And so you want, you know, it is a free housing.
And then, you know, you work it out where it's like,
well, yeah, but I'm probably not
going to pay for a couple of meals or something.
Right, right, right.
You know, but it's also an age thing and where you're at in your life.
I was cool with crashing on my boy's couch
when I was 21 because we were getting turnt
up and I didn't want to drive home that night.
I'm just going to crash here, wake up, and dip.
Now I'm grown.
Now I'm grown.
If I sleep on somebody's couch, I'm feeling it for a month.
So there's no way.
And also, on the flip side, I don't want anybody crashing at my house.
I'm married with a kid.
I'm in the suburbs.
You don't need to be staying at my place.
Really?
I can't say that.
I feel the same way.
Like, I will allow.
People can.
And now I have a guest room.
People can.
I don't like it.
I don't like it.
My mom's coming for Thanksgiving.
I don't like it.
There are people I would let stay.
And I'm on both sides of it
because I don't ask to stay
at other people's places either.
Right, me neither.
That should be offered.
That's how I feel.
Like, usually my friends, if I say, oh, I'm coming to town, whatever,
and they'll be like, oh, and based on what you say when I bring that up
determines what's happening next.
I'm not going to say, look, I'm staying with you.
People are like, yo, I'm coming to town.
I'm like, oh, cool.
Yeah, great, let me know when you're leaving.
Holler at you, we'll meet up for dinner.
Well, that's how you get in there, too.
You're like, oh, cool, where are you staying?
Let's meet up at some point that's not at my place.
And then they go, I thought I was staying with you.
Plus, at this point in my life, I
don't want to be staying at anybody's.
I'm an inconvenience.
I'm tiptoeing around.
You don't know how they're living.
I'm grown.
Right.
I'm grown.
Even though I don't want to pay
the tequila upcharge, I can get a hotel.
Yeah, and I want to not trash a hotel,
but I want to live unapologetically.
How are you living?
What are you doing?
Well, I'm saying, I want to throw a towel on the floor
and not be like, oh, can I use
this towel?
Oh, that's true.
You do have to be like, oh, can I?
We're going to take our last break.
I'm glad you clarified that.
I'm not trying to trash the hotel.
I'm like, wait, I'm grown and trash in hotels.
Yeah, Motley Crue.
Bill, Alex, and Mike on the airwaves giving what you like.
Yeah, that's what we're saying.
That was a good part about the radio gig we were talking about.
It doesn't exist in TV.
We got to get out of here.
How do people follow you?
What's going on?
Hey, listen to Q102 all day,
but every afternoon, that's when I'll be live.
Also, we're giving away free Jingle
Ball tickets, which is almost sold out.
We have less than 200 tickets left.
December 15th, Xfinity Mobile Arena, Ludacris, Sombra,
Adela, Jason Derulo, OneRepublic, Charlie Puth.
Come on!
Peace.
Thanks for coming in.
Appreciate you.
Thank you, guys.
