Sikhs welcome thousands to Nagar Kirtan parade in Yuba City

It's like a Sikh parade that we hold. We kind of show the rest of the community in the United States that the Sikh community is here, and it gives us a chance to share our culture and our beliefs with everybody. One of our main tenets of our religion is langar, which is free food that we share with everyone regardless of your background status. And I think that's something that you'll see a lot today in the event. Every five steps, there's a different food stall, and everyone is welcome to get food even if you're not here for the event. There's lots of like other community members from, you know, other backgrounds that all come, you know, they enjoy the food, they enjoy kind of just the culture and the atmosphere. Let's see what happens here. For me it's humanity because we see so many people of many races connect here and meet and we like, there's no disrespect between anyone and it's just so respectful. It's just so nice to see everyone together. We came here to do selfless service. It gives us higher karma. And it's betters our chances of connecting with God and it helps other people. So we like to help other people because it's part of our faith. So I'm actually with Surabatakasa, the Star Club. We're a registered nonprofit founded in 2014. Our main initiative is turban tying. We provide free turban tying training and we provide turban and tie them here at the Sikh Parade every single year since 2014. Thank you very much.
