Hi everyone, and welcome back to our channel Victor Explains,
in today's video, we're going
to talk about how to extend the life of Windows 10
for free until October 14, 2026, that's
right, Microsoft officially will end its support
for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025, but they've
just released a way to keep your PC secure for one more year
and completely free, it's
It's ESU means called Extended Security Updates.
Normally,
After October 2025, Windows 10 stops receiving
security updates unless you pay a yearly fee,
around $30 per PC,
or redeem about 1,000 Microsoft Rewards points each year.
But here's the good news,
Microsoft is offering the first year of extended security updates
completely free, that means you can keep
your Windows 10 system safe and secure all the way
until October 2026, without paying a single cent.
To get started, open the Start menu and go to Settings
Next, head to Update Security,
and then select Windows Update from the sidebar.
You should see a new option that says Enroll
in Extended Updates to help keep your device secure.
If you don't see it yet, click on Check for Updates
and install any available updates until that Enroll Now option appears.
Once it does, click Enroll Now.
A new window will pop up. Just click Next.
You'll then be asked to sign in with your Microsoft account.
If you don't already have one, no worries,
you can create one right there by clicking create one.
After signing in,
you'll see
a message
confirming that
you're eligible
to enroll
in extended security updates at no extra cost. Click enroll.
And after a few moments, you'll get a confirmation message saying
you're enrolled in Extended Security Updates through October 13th,
2026, and finally click Done.
To double-check, look at the top right corner.
It should say that your PC is enrolled
to get Extended Security Updates.
If it does, you're all set.
Remember, without these updates,
Windows 10 becomes an easy target for malware and hackers.
The Extended Security Updates program keeps
your system safe with critical patches.
So if your PC can't run Windows 11 yet,
this is the best way to stay protected until you're ready to upgrade.
