And that is our big story tonight at 5.
Tomorrow is Election Day across the Badger State.
Polls open tomorrow morning at 7.
Governor is up for grabs.
The candidates are crossing
the state working to get last-minute support.
Let's get right out to our political reporter, Jason Calvey,
live in Delafield with Tom Tiffany.
Jason, you try to keep up. They're everywhere.
They really are all over the state
from Superior down here to southeastern Wisconsin.
They are all over the state
because every single vote really does count in a state where
presidential elections have been decided by 20,000 votes,
a sliver of pretty much 1% deciding
winners from losers.
Today, David Crowley got some backup.
He was joined in Racine.
I'll show you some video of that.
This is Racine where he was joined
by a former U.S. Transportation Secretary.
Pete Buttigieg, you can see him there, rallying to get out the vote.
These are get-out-the-vote rallies that both sides are hosting,
trying to urge their supporters to get out and vote.
So that was Crowley and Racine.
And now let's show you Tom Tiffany. He got backup as well.
He was joined by the last Republican governor of Wisconsin there.
You can see him right there, Scott Walker.
They're rallying here at a bar in Delafield, Waukesha County,
that crucial Republican stronghold that has
the largest share of Republican votes
in the entire state of Wisconsin.
Right here in Waukesha County, you see them rallying,
and the final closing message from
both sides, Democrats and Republicans,
has been on that top issue for voters.
They say again and again,
their number one issue is affordability, the cost of living.
Let's listen to both candidates on that issue.
We just want to continue to make the case
about how we're going to tackle affordability,
how we're going to be working for hardworking
families all across the state of Wisconsin,
which is a stark contrast.
And it comes down to Congressman Tom Tiffany, who's focusing on
doing the bidding of Donald Trump and his billionaire backers.
I believe the turning point in this election was the debate.
When David Crowley, all he talked about was what he is against.
I talked about what I'm for.
I'm for more money in people's pockets.
I'm for ending the 400-year property tax increase.
I'm for auditing all of state government to root out fraud and waste.
So polls will open at 7 a.m. tomorrow morning, and that's when the
local clerks can start opening up all those absentee ballot envelopes.
They can't start opening them,
start processing them until the polls open on Election Day.
And you saw David Crowley was joined
by his running mate, Sarah Godlewski.
I want to talk a little bit about how running mates
are decided here in Battleground, Wisconsin.
It's not the top of the ticket who picks the running mate.
No, in fact, it's the voters in the primary.
It's almost like an arranged marriage.
They put the two people on the ticket together.
So you saw Republicans pick David Varnum.
He's the running mate for Tom Tiffany.
And then on Democratic side, you see the Democratic voters
picking Sarah Gajdulski to be the running mate for David Crowley.
So it's sort of that arranged marriage putting
that ticket together in Wisconsin.
Now you'll be deciding in just a few hours when those polls open.
Back to you guys in a second.
Arranged marriage or not, you're seeing
Democrats appearing together in many places.
Are we seeing the same thing on the Republican ticket?
Yeah, I did not see David Varnum speaking.
I did see him at one of the events I went to down at the Brat Stop
in Kenosha. And I saw David Varnum at that event,
but I didn't see him take the stage with his running mate, Tom Tiffany.
All right, Jason Kelby, thank you. You have a busy night ahead
and a busy day tomorrow. We'll be checking back.
