Minnesotans are struggling. They can't afford gas or groceries.
They're losing their health
care. And it's because of Donald Trump
and the cowards who go along with him. Now Donald
Trump thinks he can pick our senator.
He's endorsed Michelle Tafoya because he knows
she'll do his bidding too.
I'll be a senator who stands up for Minnesota, not Donald Trump.
This may be one of the most incompetent people
in the country, let alone politicians.
Peggy Flanagan right there is demanding
a huge promotion in the state of Minnesota
after presiding over the most immense fraud
I think we've ever seen in this country
as a lieutenant governor of the state.
Flanagan's Republican opponent, Michelle Tafoya, famous from NBC,
sideline reporter for the NFL,
in front of the show trying to pull off an upset
in a blue state during what is a very tough election cycle, as we know.
The Cook Political Report, though, shows she's making some ground.
The race...
It's shifted in Tafoya's favor
from favored Democrat to just lean Democrat now.
DDHQ polling average shows Tafoya
trailing Flanagan by about seven points.
But we all know that these polls tend
to skew toward the Democrat every time.
And Michelle Tafoya joins us now.
It's a tough state.
It's good to see you again.
Good to see you.
You're prying voters away from Flanagan,
as highlighted in your campaign's new ad.
We're going to play your ad now.
Take a look.
I voted Democrat my whole life.
I voted Democrat.
I'm a Democrat.
I vote Democrat.
But I can't vote for Peggy Flanagan.
Peggy Flanagan and Tim Walz let hundreds
of millions get stolen by fraudsters.
Failure has to have consequences.
We need a change.
We need new leaders.
I'm voting for Michelle Tafoya.
Michelle Tafoya will be an independent
leader who will work for all of us.
So that's what the ad looks like.
I mean, you're in a very blue state,
so you're running kind of a blue state Republican campaign.
Talk about how you're acquiring these voters.
What's the messaging that's working?
Well, first of all, they are disgusted
with the last eight years under Tim Walz and Peggy
Flanagan. They know that historic fraud cannot be sustained. It's been
something that has hurt them really emotionally and psychologically.
They have no faith in this
governor or lieutenant governor,
which is why Tim Walz stepped out of his third gubernatorial run.
But his right hand, his lieutenant governor,
she wants a promotion to the Senate. And she
She thinks that she deserves that.
I'll tell you what.
I'm reading today, even in our left-leaning publication,
the Minnesota Star Tribune,
that people are crossing over. They do not trust Peggy Flanagan.
That's the first part of it. The
second part is I've promised to be an independent thinker.
I will go in and reach across the aisle.
Peggy Flanagan would be a rubber stamp for the far left.
And those aren't the values that Minnesota
The shares, they don't want Medicare for all.
We've got unions who love their health
insurance. They don't want defunding ICE.
People want secure safe borders. They don't
want crime. I've been endorsed by all
of the major law enforcement organizations in the
state and many in the country.
So it's a really clear distinction between our...
Our common sense and her crazy.
It is wild that you got the governor ends
his political career based off this scandal,
but the woman standing right next to him
is asking for a dramatic promotion.
Just want to show a little bit of who you're
running against so people can get her flavor.
Take a look.
My name is Peggy Flanagan.
My Ojibwe name is speaks in a loud and clear voice woman.
I'm Ojibwe and a member of White Earth and my family's the Wolf Clan.
The beautiful.
Somali community, they are part of the fabric of our state.
My daughter is already growing up with fewer rights than I had,
fewer rights than my mom
had, fewer rights than my grandmother had, and I am not okay with that.
It is unacceptable.
So we see a lot of politicians like this.
They usually do well in, you know,
city councils and blue cities and things like that.
How on earth does that translate statewide in a state like Minnesota,
where even though Minneapolis is a problem, obviously,
the broader state is pretty much just regular Americans.
What do they see that as?
Well, they see that as Peggy Flanagan failing upward.
For the last 20 years as a career politician,
and she's used the identity politics I wish she had used.
Her woman of loud voice,
her loud voice when there was all this fraud going on,
but you know what she used it for?
She belittled all the whistleblowers. She told them they were
losers in their mother's basement
when they were posting the whistleblowing on all of the fraud.
So that's how she used her loud voice.
She didn't stand up for kids and students
who were losing their meals and having their test scores
dramatically plummet.
She has stood with the Somali community, that's fine.
But she refuses to call out the Somali gang violence
that has been spiking in Minnesota.
Just on Halloween,
we had a massive disruption in St. Paul with four Somali gangs.
She will not call it out.
So she has got blinders on, and she is running on identity politics.
And that's about it.
I got 30 seconds left.
The polling is really ugly in this cycle,
so much so it's hard to believe.
I mean, there's pollsters that have the generic ballot,
you know, 10, 15 points down for Republicans.
It's always hard to believe you're at seven.
I never buy that.
But I mean, it's hard to imagine that Republicans
are going to lose all these seats.
How are you feeling?
Look, the only poll that matters is the one
that I voted in this morning. I went and voted
earlier today, tomorrow's election day.
That's the poll that matters. I hope people understand
that we've seen polls be erroneous many, many times.
It's just as likely this time people
must go vote. Go vote. Michelle Tafoya, good to see you.
Thanks so much. Good to see you. Thank you.
