Duovox Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/duovox/duovox-mate-pro?ref=59ypu8 Manfrotto tripod (Amazon): https://geni.us/GYCyR It's a shame that the video here on YouTube doesn't do justice to how impressive this camera is and please bear in mind that the footage here was captured on a moonless night out in the country to really test the camera abilities. The above link has a video from Duovox which shows footage where some sort of remote or weak light source is in effect and the resulting footage is better.....they probably have better editing software than me too, lol I found the recorded footage to be best when the camera was tripod mounted to prevent movement blur and even with very minimal light the recordings are impressive. If you check out this video from around the 04:00 mark you will see the day / night comparison footage and there is one where a security light comes on and then whole scene lights up like day. For recording in urban environments where there are many more sources of artificial light this camera produces day-like footage (as seen in other reviewer's videos) so would be fantastic for recording there. I will do a follow-up video the next time there is a clear sky and a full moon to show what can be achieved with only moonlight as a light source. If you're interested in finding out more check out the above link. Thanks for watching. Some of the links above may be to my affiliate programs on Amazon and Ebay so they will throw a few pennies my way if you make a purchase - it costs you nothing extra and helps towards keeping the lights on in my bunker.

Hi there, welcome back. In this video we're going to be taking
a look at another sort of Indiegogo Kickstarter type of product.
Now this one hasn't got long left to run, so if you're watching
this a few days after upload, it may have actually finished.
They've already smashed the target, so it's not really a problem,
but I will put the link to it in the video description.
This is the Duovox Mate Pro, and it records in 2K,
it can see in complete darkness.
The version they sent out didn't have a case or a lens cover,
so I've repurposed an old Lowepro case.
I just found this one lying around in my war room.
It fits in there perfectly, and I got that,
which is a cover for a telescopic sight that would fit on a rifle.
I think it's a 40mm one. That goes over there to protect the lens.
Obviously, you don't really need that,
but I have a habit of leaving things lying around, dropping them,
so the more protection that I can give them, the better.
But they do have an option on that Kickstarter thing where you get
a tripod, a case, all sorts of things.
This one came with a charging cable, a memory card,
and a memory card reader adapter sort of thing.
However, the tripod that comes with it is pretty small,
and for filming purposes, I'm using this one.
This is a Manfrotto one.
This is generally what I would use if I was filming,
say, down at a riverbank or something.
It's small, it allows me to put it in my pocket,
and it's adjustable as well.
It's just the size of, you know, an average small digital camera.
It's pretty comfortable to hold if you're
not using it with a tripod, you know.
You know, it's the...
Normal sort of shape for a digital camera.
It's got the on-off switch on the top, and these are menu buttons.
You can also access everything on the menu through a touchscreen,
which is on the back,
and I'll just switch this on so you can see it.
There you go.
I think that's in focus.
You can see the various options there.
You can switch between like filming mode or photo mode,
you can adjust the brightness, you can adjust
the brightness of the screen.
That one there is a light which emits from here and if it's
exceptionally dark I think you've got three
different light settings. Now with those three
settings of LED you've got low, medium and high.
That allows you to see out to greater distances.
Most nights you shouldn't need that because
the light sensor in here is so sensitive.
But it's nice to have that option of a bit of extra light.
And then on the side here we've got a removable panel.
And in there we've got a slot for a micro SD card.
I think the one in there is 128 gigabytes.
And then we've got a charging socket which is a Type-C charger.
And this has got a built-in battery.
Now what makes this different to other night vision gear
that I've had and tested in the past
is that this actually reports back in full colour.
I don't know how it manages to do that either because this is,
I mean look at that man,
that's really small you know compared to the size of my hand.
All the previous things that I've taken a look at have
been big binoculars you know that you've got to lump around.
This one you can literally just slip it into your pocket you know.
There's obviously some sort of miniaturised advanced technology going
on in there which I am too dumb to understand.
I'll use the same locations so you'll see day and night
and then that'll give you some idea
of just how impressive this thing is.
I
don't
know
whether
I'm
on
camera
but
I
can
see
from
the
other
side
that
behind
me
there's just green fields and woodland and so on.
When I look out without the aid of the camera
I literally can't see anything
blacker than night is long.
So aside from the profession or hobby of sitting
or standing talking into a camera
I'm not sure how wide the appeal will be for this sort of thing,
but if you're after something that will record in full colour,
in the dark, then this is the tool for you.
It's like you've got a magic wand in your hand, you know,
it just allows you to cut through the darkness and see what's going
on and take a picture of it, or video it, or live stream it.
Actually, Bigfoot hunters might find one of these quite useful.
It might help them to capture some blob squatch in colour.
So I hope you found this video in some way useful.
If you have, give it a thumbs up, share it wherever you want.
Check out the other videos on my channel
because there's reviews of all sorts of things there.
Most of my outdoor reviews and outdoor hobbies will be recorded
and put on the Thousand Yard Stair channel.
But if you're watching this on the Pond Guru channel,
there's probably, I don't know, 10, 12 years worth of videos there.
Maybe it's a thousand videos.
So you're not going to be short of something to watch.
Thanks for watching. See you next time.
