The day before the most consequential midterm of our lifetime, a sitting Democrat congresswoman just crossed party lines in one of the two most important Senate races in the country.

Haley Stevens, who came within roughly 16,000 votes of Abdul El-Sayed in the Michigan Democratic primary, endorsed Republican Mike Rogers. She said she does not belong in El-Sayed’s campaign because of the hate, antisemitism, and extremism it has embraced—including a vicious ad blaming high grocery prices on aid to Israel and “the Jews.”

Sen. Ted Cruz, who was in Michigan campaigning with Rogers when the drama unfolded, walks through the sequence: Stevens’ fiancé Jason Turkish publicly backed Rogers, El-Sayed refused to disavow the ad and told her to stay away, she appeared at church with Rogers, and then released the full endorsement. Schumer and Pelosi immediately attacked her. Cruz calls it a rare profile in courage and says it could provide a permission structure for Jewish, moderate, and national-security-minded Democrats in a dead-heat race.

The episode then turns to the New York Times bombshell on the Alaska Senate race. The Times reported that operatives aligned with Democrat nominee Mary Peltola and senior aides at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee worked for months to recruit a second “Dan Sullivan”—a retired teacher who has donated to Peltola—to appear on the ballot and peel votes from Republican Senator Dan Sullivan.

Cruz and Ben Ferguson detail the ballot composition project, the metadata that undercut the campaign’s denials, and the pattern of power-over-principle that also explains the party’s tolerance for figures like Graham Platner.

Cruz closes by stressing turnout, especially in Texas where the race against James Talarico remains neck-and-neck, and urges viewers to vote and bring others with them.
