Today we are taking care of some big projects around the home that we have been wanting to do for awhile. We are planting a new tree in the front flower beds, cleaning all interior and exterior windows and filling in ALL the holes in the walls and touch up painting throughout the entire house! Ashley shares a series of home maintenance and aesthetic updates to prepare her Oklahoma residence for winter. Her projects range from exterior window cleaning and strategic landscaping for privacy to interior wall repairs and closet decorating, all aimed at refreshing her living space before the holiday season.
Hello guys and welcome to Till Vacuum Do Us Part.
If you're new here my name is Ashley.
So today's video has actually been being filmed
for over a week at this point. Typically they're
all one day but we've done some home projects
that's kind of taken longer than normal or
they're just tiring so I don't want to do it all in one day.
We have a new addition to the front
of our house which I'm excited to show you guys.
So and there's some other ones in there as well.
I may mention in the video going over to the barn house
because I had intense
I intended on getting some stuff done over
there, but I think that's going to just be
a separate video because I think this one might be getting long.
I can't always tell, especially when I'm filming multiple days,
but let's get you caught up
and then we'll start what we're going to be working on today.
Okay so the project I have to get done today
that I have been putting off for so long because I just
don't enjoy doing it is cleaning all the outside of the windows
but I feel like we just always have
like our curtains open. We don't have blinds.
In the summer I love seeing like the sun and all of
that and then in the winter there's snow.
I don't know. I just like having them cleaned for each
season if not more often. I should do it more often.
I just don't always have it in me. I think
I think the high is like 66 today,
so I shouldn't get too hot or too cold.
And then the inside.
I can get done anytime, you know what I mean?
Like that's easier to space out,
but
why
it's
a
pretty
day,
I
wanna
get
all
these
done.
Okay, that's it.
It is so easy.
I don't know why I put it off.
So I use the Dawn dish spray.
Someone had mentioned to do that
cause I use this on everything.
And then I ordered this off Amazon
cause I'm just a tad bit too short to get to the height,
but I can scrub them and then squeegee them.
I'm gonna link that cause it's so affordable
and literally it makes cleaning your windows so dang easy.
So now we're just gonna keep moving.
This whole area, I'm not going to do it now,
but it needs the good, like, you know, spring
cleaning, like patio makeover cleaning.
When I come out here and take everything apart
and clean it, that's what I really need to
do before winter, but I just don't have it in me.
I'm actually a little cold out here,
so I'm going to go ahead and get those windows clean,
maybe clean up.
If you can tell, I'm like power washing a few things.
There's just so many bugs and stuff out here
in Oklahoma, but I'm going to clean it up
some, not as well as I normally do, and then it'll be ready.
Want to move my feet.
You can hear it
chases over there
mowing. It's like
home projects mode
for sure. We're just
trying to like get everything ready
and get everything cleaned up for winter and all that.
So I got that cleaned out the best I'm going to for right now.
It definitely needs an even
better scrub, but I feel like I do that, you know,
right before summer when we're going to be out
here. But I still want this to look clean
because it's definitely the dirtiest area of our house.
Sorry, he's really close.
I don't know what that was.
and you like look at our living room and stuff
and see it so it still has to be maintained and
it just gets so buggy but the dawn
and all that worked really well definitely looks way better
than what it was i'm gonna let everything air dry oh i need
to go squeegee those and then we'll move
on
to
the
next
Is it perfect? Not by a long shot.
If I took you close, I'll even take you up there. It's not.
Georgia's out here trying not to get hit by water.
I'll take you over there. From back here,
it's better. The windows are going to be clean.
That's all I needed, but I'll show you what it
looks like up close. So if you see on our white paint,
there's just a lot of stuff from bugs.
I feel like I'm better in the spring where I come out here
at dawn and like when I'm doing
I'm doing a patio makeover, I actually scrubbed that.
That'll be done then. I really only have it in me to do once a year.
I got a lot of like the mud
daubers off here with Dawn
but like up here I couldn't see like there's still some up there.
I don't know. It's looking way cleaner on camera than it actually is,
but it's buggy. It just kind
of is what it is. I cleaned off this table some,
but you can see like inside of it. See how it's
disgusting. Oklahoma is just so hard to have like nice things outside.
I'll actually do these
windows first. I didn't want to go through my house
because I'm all wet. I'm going to do these
and then I'm also going to show you some clips of the front yard.
So I had been wanting to redo the landscaping.
It's still not done, but it's better.
Um, so
So while I'm cleaning these, I'll start a clip here
and then I'll insert the clips over there of what we did.
One day, if you follow me on Instagram, you kind of know,
but you'll get to see the after and the reveal as of now.
I still want to do more.
So let's cut to that real fast.
Oh, it's on tonight,
let me come real close now.
Baby's
trying
to
pose.
It's hot,
you're gonna love it.
Guys, I was going to do a whole video sharing
this and then we couldn't find a tree. So then
I stopped. Well, we got out the next day and found a tree.
It's like the hottest day in a long time.
We're in mid-October and we're breaking
a record today in what, the first 60 years?
Yeah, since 1963.
It hasn't been this hot on this day
so like why we chose today but it's because we have a lot of
rain coming so we wanted to get
this in because I'm telling you God's water is so much better
than just like normal water so I wanted to get it in.
But if you guys can't tell these pots used to
be over there. We slid them here
because if you guys remember what is on me I think just dirt.
We used to have bushes here.
The boys always came out here and you know what on them so like they
They died, so this will work better.
So I like that there, but then we needed a tree here
and I was very picky on a tree
because you guys know me,
I have an opinion on everything like that
when it comes to design.
I wanted something that was like organic
and kind of had lots of branches.
I wanted small leaves.
I didn't want anything that turned colors.
I wanted something that was like green all year round.
Plus we're like at the end of the season,
but we went like 40 minutes away and found what we needed.
I was so excited.
So Chase is getting in the ground,
but we have literally about had a heat stroke.
Broke out here.
He has to keep like going in, laying on tile.
Can you tell them that the wax myrtle?
It's a wax myrtle. Oh, let me show you.
I have the tag and guys, it was super affordable. I feel
like for what it is, it was only $2.99.
Like I feel like that was such a good deal. Here's what
it is. If you guys need like a screenshot of it, but it is gorgeous.
And like I said, it stays
green. It sheds, but naturally, so there's always leaves on it.
Doesn't have color, doesn't have
berries, doesn't do any of that.
I'll get further back here in a little bit, the trucks here, but it
It is gorgeous.
I keep trying to like hide in the shade.
What was so funny is me and mama from scratch, if you guys know Emily
or follow her, I'll link her if you don't, you need to.
But she said it was like 48 where she lives
and it had snowed a couple days ago and then here we are in the heat.
So what you guys missed since I decided not to film it even
though I'm filming it now. I put a
new doormat out. I did clean all of these off.
I need to clean the window because I am so hot. It's
not even funny. Like we're going to just try to finish this up
and when it cools off one day we
can do the rest. But now we had a light back here
so we're going to re like bury it and put it on
the tree and then move the rocks back and we're getting close.
I have the hose out to water it as
well. Okay not only were we putting a tree here
because I had moved those there because that stuff
I wanted some privacy.
Privacy in this window, you guys know that's,
it's my laundry room right there,
and I have tried so many different shades
and I cannot figure out what works,
but I want a little bit of privacy,
especially at night,
because I feel like when I'm in there doing laundry
and the light's on,
you can just like see through into my house.
So this is just a little bit of privacy,
even if I'm in there at the sink and we get a delivery,
you know what I mean?
It's just like a little bit of a barrier.
I wanted to come inside so you can kind
of see like when I'm here at my sink
see how I have like blockage now like if someone's walking out there
it'll help sometimes with the sun depending on where it is.
I mean this is gonna get bigger.
We didn't get one that got too big
because I want it to stay low where I have like you know
The privacy here not up high but I know it will get a little taller
and wider and so that'll help
but that alone was just huge.
I feel like I can be here especially at night and people driving by
aren't just like staring at me.
I'll try and remember to do this again this evening when it's
all lit up but look how good it looks.
I think it's perfect for the space. Like I think we got
the perfect size to start off with.
Okay, it's a lot later. It's so pretty.
I should have got this guy earlier. It was even prettier,
but we were out here cleaning up.
We went in, showered, had dinner, and like...
We crashed. Like we, we didn't fall asleep, but we just could not move.
We could not talk. We could
not do anything. And I don't know, it just took us a second to recover.
He's going to go in and
turn our lights on out here.
They're on timers, but it's starting to get dark here earlier.
So we have to like reprogram it.
So he's going to go turn it on for you guys. But like, it is
perfect. Like the camera isn't even doing it justice at all.
Like it looks so good in real life.
That is what lighting does.
It was a little bit of an investment when we moved in but I love it.
Once again, sorry, Chase is mowing.
I hope it's not super loud over my voice,
but here's how it looks.
The tree is thriving.
I love having it from the inside to the outside.
I do still wanna add something in these areas.
I just don't know what yet,
but we'll eventually finish that up either this season
or like, you know, in the spring,
but it's looking so, so good.
We put our flag back up.
I just feel like everything's looking pretty at night.
It's gorgeous.
I'll try to show you an after clip.
Chase finally added two lights here.
lights up even more. But it is gorgeous.
The other home project, which I don't have any clips of
because we paid someone to do it.
We always pay firefighters to put up our Christmas lights
because this is really, really steep. So that's done.
We don't turn them on until after Thanksgiving.
We don't turn them on until after Halloween.
But those are all done. So this is looking
great. I can't wait to show you what it looks like for Christmas.
Christmas by arm.
yeah we definitely got that was that was a major project
and i think that's why i've been putting
it off but it looks so good i mean look at this view isn't it
so pretty like i love having these
pots here it just makes more sense the boys can't kill them
because they're elevated um the flag the
tree i don't know we just spend more time out here now than we used
to hey george he just took
himself on a walk over the pond um so yeah i'm loving the style
and everything that we chose
For that area.
We get down to.
We are getting
close.
I'm getting tired.
I'm going to do
this section and
then I'll do that
section and we'll be done.
Well, maybe one, two, three, potentially. I don't know, but we're
getting close.
The window I
needed to get
to the most
is this one
because
that's where I
do laundry
And it's kind of dirty.
There is a massive spider over there.
We found one there the other day too.
And then I kind of saw one run from me over there,
like in the rocks.
Like guys, it's big.
We're out in the country.
We're not talking small house spiders at all.
So Chase is going to have to clean that window
when he's done mowing.
So the rest are done.
I was going to squeegee them,
but the sun's on this side.
They may get streaky,
but I'm staying away from those flower beds for now.
That's why we don't have a lot of flowers in there.
I do not want to maintain things
where there's tons of snakes.
Now we get really lucky.
I do prayer walks.
And we have not seen very many snakes around here.
We've seen a few over by the pond.
And then when we were building,
there was one by the AC unit that like one of the workers sent us.
But like I literally pray and walk around our houses.
This is, um...
And it's helped so much in the past.
I guess I'm going to have to start praying
for spiders too because those are big.
Luckily, we've never really seen them inside.
We've had one run in before.
And Chase got it when we were like letting the dogs out at night.
But oh my gosh, like I
I'm literally a city girl in the country.
Like, I love land.
I love not having neighbors.
But, like, the creatures are so much bigger out here.
So you all know I like redid it in here
and I couldn't really find a Chanel.
Let me think.
I found this one up here.
It was a smaller one.
I really want to find a big Chanel.
So I keep looking and you guys have been so good about like,
oh my gosh, I found one or
I've had one that I've had for a few years.
You guys have been sending me your offices
that you've been doing the same thing, going
to Ross, finding them.
I have loved seeing them keep sending them and keep motivating me.
If you guys ever see a Chanel in your area,
obviously I can't get it, but it gives me
hope that I'm going to find one.
I did find some. They're small.
I didn't film it because I'm I never know how much you guys want
to see of me just playing in my closet.
It's like my favorite hobby right now but I found this one
and it's like a Chanel bag with balloons
and then I found this one which is like the storefront and
then that one so I kind of like rearranged the posters up here
and then I have quite a few to
take back. I still want to replace this one
um but yeah doesn't that look so good. So there is hope
Oh, there's Chanel photos out there at Ross.
And these three were all laying together.
You just have to dig for them.
It's like finding Easter eggs.
It's like garage sale, hunting, thrifting.
You've got to dig,
cause like Ross isn't good about
just setting their stuff out there like layered.
You feel like you're gonna break everything,
just like take your time and go through it.
But now I have one, two, three,
and then I had that one originally,
but these are definitely my favorite.
So if you watched my home tour,
I think it was probably my most recent video.
I've already rearranged since because like,
This poster is like threw it off
because once I had that there I had all my sweaters here but I
felt like my Chanel bag needed to go there but yeah.
So this is how everything's looking. I
moved my jeans back over here but it looks so good. I love it.
Okay my sheets are in the dryer. I'll put those on later.
I'm going to show you how I clean these
windows. I'm not going to show you the rest
of the house even though I'm going to do it because
you guys have been watching me clean windows
this whole video. I swear we have more to do.
So what I use is my Jaws glass cleaner
and then they have this wand and that's the best way I
can do it so I don't have to have a step stool
the whole time and I can reach the whole window.
We get down.
I got you caught up to this point so the outside the front looks
so good but now we're going to move on to today's project
and we have holes in our walls everywhere.
You guys know I get itchy. I get the itch to switch.
We're rearranging and typically I'm really good about filling
and painting those holes as we go but I just got lazy.
I've been so tired lately. I think just keeping up with work
and my age I'm like oh my gosh we're getting to the holiday season.
There's going to be a ton of people in our house plus just personally
I'm sick of looking at holes like I'm talking every bathroom bedroom.
We're going to walk around so I'm going to
I bought a new product.
I have my normal stuff I use,
but I also bought like a new stick
we're gonna test out from Amazon.
So be on the lookout for that.
I'll have it down below my description box,
but let's start working on all the holes
and we'll go from there.
I'll see if I have time for another project or not,
but that's what has to get done today.
So this is what I'm gonna use.
I'll link it for you.
I'm curious if it's gonna be easier
cause I don't have to like dig my nails into it.
Like the other one's like a putty
and I have to like scrape it out and put it on the wall.
on the wall and then take a cloth and wipe it down.
So let's see what we think.
From here when
It worked
really well. It
is way softer.
Like you could
use this on
your fingers
and just
wipe it
if that's easier. I still like this better than having
to dig it out of a tub even if I put it
on my finger just because I have nails
and it gets messy. So so far so good.
If you guys remember a few videos back,
this was like our TV room and we hung up all the
Big Brother posters or like their photos for it.
So there's like a billion holes in this wall.
Luckily, I just did the ones you can see.
One day when we move this, I can do more.
I should have done it, but now that it's all hooked up.
I only did the ones you can see and they weren't big holes,
but the stuff is working well. I
suggest using your finger.
I feel like if you rub it on there, you're wasting way too much product
and it's cleaner just using your finger,
wiping it and then wiping it off. Um, and if you have
like a cream, like darker walls than mine,
little tanner, you may not even have to paint,
especially if it's like small holes.
Cause you don't even really notice it.
Now I have a few in this bathroom.
When we hung this mirror we used to have two individual
and when we put up the big one I love it
but there's like some holes here and on that side
I need to fill.
Found some holes
in here. I don't even
know remember what
was up there do you?
Before this? Oh was it that deer photo or something?
Oh it was the deer picture.
So we have some holes up there. We're going to fill
that and then we're going to go to my closet
because you guys know I have those like they're like knobs
but I used to have them to hang my
purses. We have a few more we need to take down and fill.
I probably have the most holes in the
closet outside of the movie room in there
but we're going to get this done and then Chase is
going to go around and start painting everything.
I can't find a way from all of this.
I know there's a brighter day.
Okay now it's gonna get tedious
so I'm just gonna show you clips.
So we took this one down. You guys
know I had those seasonal rods that you pull down.
Well they screwed them into the wall so it looks
like these have those little like Ikea holes where
you put little things in and put shelves but it's
actually just.
from being screwed in like the rods we did it once here
and it looks so much better so
Chase is going to fill all the holes all the way around
so we can get that painted as well
Wow.
now we're to the painting part
so we got everything done this is something that's
really really easy but i feel like it's just
time consuming probably because my closet was
so much and it was up high but now we just get to go around
and paint and then it will be done
We came in here to paint and like we know right where we filled them
but they were such small
holes and we cleaned it up that we came in here
and we can't even find it. So like if you have
the right color walls
and they're not like huge holes from like screws um these were probably
just from nails when we were hanging different
photos like you can't even see it so you don't
always necessarily have to paint. Now if you have like
red walls or colored walls you'll have to but if you have like a white
tan you may get away not doing it because like i said i can't even find
like exactly where it was in here
this space always takes the longest so
i'll just show you a few short clips but it's gonna make it look so
much better
once it's done
It's all done. It's just drying now.
It's one of those things you don't want to start because
it's just kind of tedious and takes time but I'm so so glad it's done.
While Chase has been doing
that I've just been doing like loads and loads
and loads of laundry. Okay guys we're gonna call
it there. I hope you enjoyed today's video.
It may have been all over the place. Sometimes when
I'm filming multiple days I'm like oh my gosh
this is gonna be crazy but it feels so good to
have that stuff done especially going into winter where
the hosting house people are gonna be over
Over here, and like I said, just personally for me,
I like to have everything in tip top.
Top shape, I mean, that's not shocking for me, right?
So it feels so good to have all the holes in the walls done.
I can see out my windows.
The flower beds look so much better.
I think I mentioned in that clip,
I still wanna do a little bit more,
but we'll probably wait until spring
because it's good for now.
But thank you guys so, so much for being here.
I hope you're enjoying my videos.
I always hope they're helpful.
I hope I bring you something.
So thank you for being here.
Be sure to comment, like, and share.
It helps me out more than you guys know.
But I hope you guys have a wonderful
Have a wonderful week and I will see you in the next one.
Bye.
