This after a violent Halloween weekend filled with several shootings.
Paige Ellenberger here with an update, Paige.
Good morning, Lauren. We now know the name of three of the four victims
killed in that Halloween shooting spree
that all happened in Deep Ellum.
21-year-old Kenisha Scott, 28-year-old Unique Elise,

There are still few clues into what and who caused multiple shootings.
The federal government is stepping in, launching Operation Deep Cover.
It gives that area more federal assistance for policing.
That includes more uniformed and plain-clothed officers.
Federal authorities will
also review DPD cases centering in Deep Ellum, dating back to 2024.
If you're thinking about committing a crime here,
you will not know who's watching.
We want the increased state, local, and federal presence.
You'll only know that someone is.
And it starts right now with actions, not just words.
The feds say crimes in Deep Ellum prosecuted through
this operation will go straight to the federal level,
meaning those convicted would be more likely to serve a full sentence.
Attorney Raybould announced in the arrest, in arrest in addition
to the operation, Travion Demby was federally charged
with unlawful possession of a firearm after officers say he was wearing
a ski mask and pointing a gun in Deep Ellum during Halloween weekend.
Demby has a lengthy criminal history, including aggravated robbery.
All this as investigators
Viewers continue to canvass businesses in the Deep Ellum area
and surveillance video.
Any evidence too from that deadly weekend?
For Good Day, I'm Paige Ellenberger.
