Obviously, it's not good when a coach leaves
because you really could see that he's somebody from the club.
So to see him going through moments like that,
it was tough to see because you could see that every time we
were having a bad result, it really eats him.
And he's a very nice man. He really wants the best for Fenerbahce.
We just didn't deliver what the club wanted
and obviously the club made the decision but for me
personally to him I'll be always grateful for him
for giving me the opportunity to come here and
you know to be always helpful and teach me about the club.
It was a really special achievement
to reach the Champions League
for the first time since 18 years for Fenerbahce.
So that was something really exciting.
The moment you reach that stage you know you're
going to play against very exciting teams
but as soon as the draw came up as a technical member
of the staff I was really excited
because everyone knows how much Fenerbahce and Liverpool means to me
and from that moment you know it's going to be a special occasion.
And of course you know tomorrow it will
be a very very special occasion for me.
But at this stage where we're in,
I'm not the important person, you know, it's the club.
You know, Rom is speaking about how important it is to show the fans
who deserve much more
a reaction of positive energy and a good performance.
And I think we have really good players, but we need to show up.
And when we show up tomorrow with good energy,
with passion and dare to play,
I think it can be a very special night,
because as you said, Liverpool is an amazing team,
but so is Fenerbahce. And if the fans will show up,
I think Europe will see how big this fanbase is.
I am really looking forward
to face Liverpool tomorrow at home in
Because, as Rome says, it's a big opportunity for Fenerbahce.
It's a big opportunity for the players in the first place,
they need to show, you know,
we have a good plan for tomorrow, but we need to believe that plan.
And I believe the players are believing.
And if we show that with passion and energy,
then my biggest wish is that, you know, the
fans of Fenerbahce are showing themselves
to Europe in the highest stage, you know,
a big platform, Champions League against one
of the biggest teams in the Champions League.
Very special and that's why I'm looking so forward to be in Kadikoy
from the first moment the players enter the pitch.
I'm 100% convinced the fans will be behind us
and that will be our biggest power.
I think that will be our biggest chance to have a good performance
and hopefully a good result.
