Good Tuesday morning.
Some of us had some rough thunderstorms overnight.
Others, not so much rain. And just a few folks
this morning still have some showers and storms rolling through.
But our front is now making its way to the east and southeast
of the Metroplex. It'll be a windy, cooler day. Skies are clearing.
And honestly, for the rest of the week, it's going to be.
Pretty nice. Temperatures near normal.
So we're talking 40s and 50s in the morning,
60s and 70s in the afternoon. Barely a drop of rain in sight
for the rest of the week once this front moves through.
We may see some changes heading into next week,
but right now I don't really have significant rain in this forecast.
Our average high has dropped another degree down to 71,
so we're just a little bit above that for the next few days.
Climbing mostly mid to maybe some upper 70s on Thursday,
but we have another front.
This one not going to bring in precipitation if we were to see
a shower maybe up along the Red River Thursday evening,
Thursday night, but that's really it.
What it does is brings us back to reality.
So no big warm-up in this forecast at all.
This upper-level system still producing plenty
of rain and thunderstorms.
Across parts of Kansas and Missouri,
and then our front continues to head to the south and east.
Now, the front is going to move through in the next few hours,
but this upper level low is going
to bring some clouds our way later on this afternoon.
I don't think it's going to filter sun that much,
but if you are closer to the Red River, you will be cooler
because you'll have a little bit more cloud cover than the rest of us.
Notice how quiet it is from the Metroplex westward
and then to the south and east, still very active,
nothing severe, but heavy rain.
And lightning in these thunderstorms,
some of the more intense stuff moving towards Fairfield.
And all of this is training one after the other in the same location.
So some localized flood concerns increasing from Athens to Cayuga
and Fairfield this morning.
The rest of us, though, we're drying out very quickly,
even Clarksville looking better.
Light to moderate rain on the eastern portion
and eastern side of Canton right now.
But that will continue to move out to upper 50s,
low 60s behind the front and then upper 60s, low 70s.
Out ahead of it for now.
So throughout the morning drive,
I'd say areas far south and east only is where we have the
wet weather.
The rest of us are looking good with the pole locations opening at 7.
If you are in and around Palestine,
you may have to wait till late morning before the
rain completely comes to an end.
But overall, I think it'll be a nice change
of pace after yesterday's 85.
Northwest winds will be strong, 25 miles an hour,
maybe some gusts a little higher.
So we go from mainly sunny to just some clouds later.
Late afternoon with highs in the upper 60s, low 70s.
Cooler tomorrow, 40s and 50s.
And the afternoon looking beautiful.
We're back with lighter winds and low to mid 70s.
There's your forewarned seven-day forecast.
No significant rain here through Monday
of next week after this morning's cold front.
Mornings are cool and comfortable.
Afternoon's pleasant in the 70s.
