The Pig in a Wheelchair, Where is Chris P. Bacon Now?

This little pig was born with a disability that meant he couldn't use his back legs. But instead of giving up on him, one veterinarian came up with an incredible idea that would change his life forever. The pig's name was Crispy Bacon. Crispy Bacon was born in January 2013 in Florida. Unfortunately, he was born with a birth defect that left both his back legs unable to function properly. And when he arrived at a veterinary clinic, his future was uncertain. But veterinarian Dr. Len Lucero decided that Chris deserved a second chance at life, so he took him home and became his owner. Dr. Lucero wanted to find a way for Chris to move around independently, and that's when he came up with a pretty unusual solution. Using his son's K'nex building toys, he constructed a tiny wheelchair specifically for Chris, and now the little pig was finally able to move around using his front legs while his new wheels supported his back. And surprisingly, it worked really well. Dr. Lucero eventually shared a video of Chris using his homemade wheelchair online, and people absolutely loved him. His story spread across the internet, attracting attention from news organizations and millions of viewers. He also inspired a book called Crispy Bacon, My Life So Far. But speaking of that, where is Crispy Bacon now? Chris P. Bacon was recently featured on PBS's Nature series, and his viewers got to see how far he had come since his first homemade wheelchair. But as of 2026, not much is known about Chris P. Bacon, but he is reportedly still alive. We do know that Chris P. Bacon just turned 14, and hopefully he'll have many more years to come. Chris P. Bacon's story has brought joy to so many around the world, and his story isn't just about pig in a wheelchair, it's about compassion, creativity, and giving an animal a chance when the future looks uncertain. One veterinarian saw a little pig who needed help, and together they created something amazing, and that's how Chris P. Bacon became one of the internet's most unforgettable animals.
