Pollster pushes back on media’s ‘blue tsunami’ voter turnout predictions

American Pulse Research and Polling’s Dustin Olson predicts high voter turnout for both the Democrats and Republicans.

​“In some places, it's going to be a little bit more Republican. I will say right now, and we have a few hours left for turnout to happen in places like Alaska, I think it's only like noon there. So we have quite a bit more time for people to vote," Mr Olson told News24 host Elizabeth Pipko.

​“That usually changes. You usually have a surge late afternoon and into the evening. So who knows how it ends up.

“I do think that election day voting in most places for Republicans has been pretty good, but then there are places like Pennsylvania, where Democrats are doing better than Republicans, so when I look at tonight, I don't really think about it as being necessarily what the media narrative is that it's going to be some blue tsunami.”
