Well, first of all, I want to say thank you, Wisconsin.
Thank you very much. Tonight was not the outcome we had hoped for,
but I am incredibly grateful for the support, encouragement, and trust
so many Wisconsinites placed in our campaign. Thank you so much.
I want to congratulate David Crowley on his victory.
While we have our differences, we both love this great state,
and I wish him and his family the very best
as he prepares to serve as Wisconsin's next governor.
I also want to thank my wife, Chris,
our three daughters, and our entire family.
Your love and support have meant
the world to me throughout this journey.
I couldn't have done this without you.
And to our, we're going to be magnanimous tonight.
We'll be magnanimous tonight.
And to our incredible campaign team and volunteers, thank you.
Thank you for the work that you put in.
You knocked on doors, made phone calls, wrote postcards,
organized events, traveled thousands of miles.
And gave everything you had to this campaign.
And you truly did give everything you could to this campaign.
From our very first event to the final stop of our 55-stop bus tour,
you never stopped working.
I could not be prouder of what we accomplished together.
We traveled to every corner of Wisconsin
because we believe that every community matters.
Every county matters and every Wisconsinite deserves
to have their voice heard.
I want to thank my Lieutenant Governor candidate
that joined me on the ticket, David Varnam.
So thank you, David.
And while tonight's result may not be what we wanted,
the things we fought for still matter.
Lower property taxes, more affordable energy,
accountable government, protecting our farmland,
and making Wisconsin a place where
the next generation can build a better future.
Those are not just campaign promises.
They are principles worth continuing to fight for.
I have always believed
that Wisconsin's greatest strength is its people, you.
The farmers, factory workers, teachers, nurses,
small business owners, and hardworking families
who get up every morning and make this state what it is.
An election does not change that.
And it does not change my love for Wisconsin
or my belief in what the state can accomplish.
To everyone who supported us,
thank you for believing in our vision and being part of this journey.
It has been one of the greatest honors of my life.
May God bless you, your families.
And the great state of Wisconsin, folks,
we live in a great country, United States of America,
and it will always be worth working for fighting for.
And I can tell you that I will continue to.
And I hope you will, too. Thank you, Wisconsin.
