Back here now heading into the 1st Congressional District 22 news reporter Lexi White has been following incumbent Congressman Richard Neal's campaign as he wins this election. Lexi, you are at Neal campaign, the Victory Party now at Nathan Bills in Springfield. How is it going over there? Ciara and Claire, Congressman Mitchell Neal has done it once again. He's keeping his House seat nice and warm after winning over the 1st Congressional District. And he's saying he owes it all to his family, friends, and supporters who are all here tonight to congratulate him and stand with him for this victory. Now, he is no stranger to politics. He's won for the numbers, serving as the president of Springfield City Council, then as the 50th mayor of Springfield, and elected to his House seat in 1988. Now he's won after running for his 20th term in the House of Representatives, and we spoke with Neal, who says he couldn't have done this without the support of the Western Mass community. Well, I think there's been great loyalty that my supporters have had to me all of these years, and I think that my effectiveness in the House of Representatives has been very helpful to the people of Central and Western Massachusetts. We got big things done during my time as chairman, and I anticipate that we're going to do the same. Based on what I'm seeing with the returns tonight. All right. Neal's entire family is here at Nathan Bills in Springfield. His kids, his grandkids, ready to see their loved one take home the gold tonight.
