Our Don Timoney is at their election night watch party in Wilmington.
It looks like the party is done, Don.
Come on.
Shiva, the party is over.
They knew the winners here very early on.
Coons was called shortly after 8 o'clock.
McBride a little bit before 9 o'clock.
And if we can show some video earlier tonight,
this room, we're at the Riverfront.
Events and this place was packed with supporters,
election officials, and there was really the
crowd was reinvigorated, inspired, hopeful.
Senator Chris Coons spoke about an hour ago,
elected to his third full term in the U.S.
Senate.
He was elected in a special election back
in 2010 after Joe Biden became vice president.
And of course, he's known for his bipartisanship
and really reaching across the aisle to
I am so grateful to the team
that is standing behind me
for how hard they have worked to
help me get re-elected this time.
I have represented you in Washington for 16 years.
I know.
Wow.
That's what I said.
Wow.
And I am so grateful that despite what somebody said,
you have rehired me for six more years of service to you.
I want to thank my campaign manager,
Matt Schoonmaker.
Matt, thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
The other big race, of course, was for U.S. Congress in Delaware.
Sarah McBride declared
the winner, as I mentioned shortly before,
9 o'clock, defeating Joseph Arminio. She was
elected to the U.S. House in 2025, and before that,
she served in the Delaware State Senate.
As she addressed the crowd tonight,
she said that we are not as divided as the logarithms
might suggest. Here's what she had to say.
Serving Delaware has been the privilege
It's the privilege of a lifetime, and tonight
Despite the forces of destruction
and division that too often plague our politics,
you, the great people of Delaware,
have once again chosen hope over hate,
grace over greed, fear.
The last two years have certainly been long.
Also, a bunch of Democratic wins on the state level,
including state treasurer and state
attorney general live in Wilmington, Delaware.
Don Timoney, back to you, Shiva, in the studio.
So much to be said in Congresswoman Sarah
McBride's speech there, considering she is
the first openly transgender member of Congress.
All right.
Thank you for bringing us all of the speeches there
and the results there from Delaware.
Dawn, thank you.
