Democrat Troy Jackson unseats Republican Senator Susan Collins in Maine

Thank you so much Maine. We, we did it. Working people did it. And I'm so damn proud to be standing here with you all tonight, or this morning I guess now. Ah, ha, ha, ha. A little more than a hundred days ago, I stood in front of our convention and asked you to put your faith in a logger from Allagash. I told you that we had a party to unite, a movement to build, and a senator to defeat. Well, tonight, again this morning, the people of Maine have elected that logger to the United States Senate. I couldn't accept that working people could give everything they had and still have so little to say over their own lives. So when the companies kept pushing us around, we organized, we stood together, and we tried to make them listen. And tonight, you've given me the chance. To take that fight to the United States Senate. You know, my list is really endless. I am so grateful to all the county and town chairs. You knocked on doors. You made those calls. You put up those signs. You encouraged people to vote. You made the case. And I am so grateful to each and every one of you.
