This morning, the next few hours might give us a bit of a break
and eventually, as you can see here,
we do catch a bit of a drier stretch. In fact, things look
Actually, pretty nice heading into the weekend,
although not quite as mild as some folks might like.
Let's take a look at a few of our cameras here because we definitely
have some challenging conditions when it comes to visibility.
And, of course, reduced friction, reduced traction
is the word I'm trying to say there, out there on those roadways.
So give yourself some extra time and space
and watch out for some of the bigger puddles this morning.
Now, the showers are already kind of starting to move to the north.
You see this rotation here.
So the low is kind of curled up right about there.
And all of this rotates in around counterclockwise.
And we're about to get into some drier air
and get a bit of a break from some of the more persistent showers.
But we still have some rain anywhere from north Milwaukee all
the way through our north counties here.
It's a little bit heavier up around Sheboygan.
And then that break will kick in.
Picked up just shy of a third of an inch officially
at Mitchell International yesterday.
Closer to four-tenths over at Massachusetts.
Madison, varying amounts across the area
with some of the bigger numbers farther west
and certainly far west and southwest.
La Crosse got quite the soaking yesterday.
Now, there's the cold front that we're keeping an eye on for the day.
And there's the low, as I pointed out earlier,
with this kind of spinning all around it counterclockwise.
That cold front comes through here kind of in the middle of the day.
So instead of continuing to warm up throughout the day as we...
Typically do. We're going to get to our high early
and then start cooling down once that front clears.
Now that low will spin in here with a few more showers on Thursday
and then a kind of a reinforcing shot of cold air brings
an even more notable chill heading into the longer range.
So let's go look ahead here with Sky Vision Plus.
Now short term, there's the last of these showers, and again,
it may not be perfectly dry, but drier through the midday
and into the afternoon and continuing that way
into the early evening overnight tonight that low continues to spin and
give us some more showers that will pop up for us on Thursday morning.
Keep us busy through the morning commute and we should see
some steady improvement as we continue through late Thursday
and maybe a few more sprinkles Friday before we completely dry up.
Just in time for the weekend, though, I might note.
You can see the numbers slowly continuing to climb here,
so we might add an additional quarter of an inch for some spots.
We're sitting at just one-third of an inch
so far for the month in Milwaukee.
That's slightly above, but we're just very few days in here.
All of this coming after what was a very dry October.
We had long, long, dry stretches.
We went from the 17th to the 27th
of October without recording anything in the rainfall gauge.
And even on the days when we did,
With the exception of day one,
it was a one hundredths of an inch or trace amount.
So October was pretty dry. November so far kind of soggy and mild.
We're already in the 60s. We'll briefly come up and then come back down
into the 50s and drop into the upper 40s tonight.
Way above for the high, way above even for the low.
After we get behind this front,
we'll still be well above the climate normals of 53 and 38.
Now, if we look into the longer range here,
there will be a slow cooling trend.
We're not going to get that chilly during the daylight hours,
not that far off the actual averages for this time of year.
There will be some cooler nights ahead.
And if you've got a lot of decorative sensitive plants still out there,
the hanging baskets and the likes,
if you haven't switched over to mums yet,
you might want to make sure you protect those.
All right, our Fox 6 Day Planner starts off at around 66.
Spend much time there, though,
will drop pretty quickly back down into the
fifties and eventually forties tonight,
fifties on Thursday, forties on Friday
and then a nice little comeback with sunshine and some seasonal
temperatures Saturday, Sunday, getting all the way up to 60 by Monday.
