If your name is Muhammad, if your name is Ali, if your name is John.
You have a place in this country
and this guy just broke all the barriers.
Well it appears that history has been made here in Michigan.
Abdel Al Saeed has been elected
to the US Senate making him the first Muslim senator ever.
Just moments ago he took the podium making a victory speech
saying that he wanted to take money out of politics,
wanted US taxpayer money to stay in this state.
Michiganders we want our taxes spent here.
For schools here and health care here and infrastructure here.
We don't want our money sent to do apartheid or genocide or war.
It has been an electric night here for the Democrats.
What appears to be a blue wave,
we've seen people dancing, people crying.
I've spoken to people who just cannot believe the success
that the Democrats have achieved in this election.
We have been through this, this ups and downs.
Oh, my goodness.
And to see the first human who actually cares about humanity,
not just a Muslim or an Arab,
but actually someone who cares about all humanity.
Instead of someone who actually we called for years to just say
the word genocide, he refused, even though he was here.
Hate and bigotry, that's been rejected,
and the actual interest of people that's been chosen and celebrated,
it's just, it's really wonderful.
I'm in awe. I'm still kind of in shock.
