Cal's Adam Mazarei Postgame

No, no, this is a really good response from our guys, right? It was a situation where it kind of popped up today, and the guys, like they said, next man up, next man up. I thought the staff was phenomenal today, but really keeping them together. We were talking to each other. We were leading. We were huddling. We were really connected. And even with, like, a little bit of adversity, they go on a huge run, you know, to start the second half. We really came together. And that was great to see. That's a lot of growth with this team, you know, a lot of new pieces. And we really, really came together. It's a credit to those guys. It's a credit to our staff. Credit to Coach Madsen. So that was awesome to see. All right, Jake. When did you find out that you were going to be? Heading the team tonight? Um, probably. Probably maybe a couple hours before the game. Oh, uh... Coach was still trying. You know, Coach, there was some, you know, question marks, see if he could make it. Of course Coach wants to be here. Like, Coach wants to be here. Coach loves Coach, and Coach loves his team. So it was like a maybe. It was like 50-50, and nothing changed. We were in constant communication. I was prepping like I was going to coach. I was also prepping like I was going to be on the whiteboard and call me plays. Nothing changed, the guy said it, nothing changed, it was business as usual for us. And then coach's emergency happened more in the morning, but we were hoping he was coming back. And then when we finally got the word that he wasn't, it was business as usual. Do you expect him to be back for the Houston game? Absolutely, absolutely, I expect him to be back tomorrow in our meeting.
