All right, so we are now the clouds are moving in.
I feel like I haven't seen a cloud in 10 days. It was a while.
Nice. And we had just a couple of hit or miss showers.
They will have a few more of those through the evening.
It's really tomorrow that we get some of that steadier rain
that we've been highlighting for several days now,
which we could use some rain here on Long Island.
Just parts of Long Island could get a little too much of a good thing.
So here's what we're taking a look at some rounds of rain.
Into the day tomorrow, the heaviest
is going to be over eastern Suffolk County.
A few rumbles of thunder could be possible anywhere across Long Island,
and there's going to be a wide range still of rainfall amounts.
Western Long Island, Nassau County, western Suffolk,
anywhere from just a half inch to an inch
and a half or two inches of rain,
whereas eastern Long Island, I say from Shirley on east,
could get two to four inches of rain.
No matter where you are, there will
be some slower-than-usual travel impacts,
some slippery travel from the wet leaves that are around,
and there can be some minor street flooding,
Especially if you have any clouds.
Storm drains with some of those extra leaves on the ground.
So if you take a look around where you live right now
and just see if there there are some clogged storm drains,
maybe you could just brush some of those leaves away.
You could be better off into the day tomorrow.
So future cast shows a few hit
or miss showers as we go throughout this evening and overnight
with an increasing chance for a few scattered downpours after midnight
and there will be breaks in the rain at times even Friday morning.
With the steadiest rain likely just offshore,
but we kind of just get clipped by those heavier downpours at times.
And that's why some of the focus for some
of the heaviest rainfall totals will be in...
Parts of central and eastern Suffolk County.
You're just closer to that heavier axis of rain, whereas Nassau County
a little bit further away from that, especially on the North Shore,
you end up with some of those lighter rainfall amounts, but you're
still in and out of rounds of rain showers throughout the day.
So it's going to be a wet day on Friday.
There will be dry moments at times,
even in the afternoon with more rounds of showers
into the evening before it completely starts to dry out.
After around close to midnight over the East End tomorrow night.
So periods of rain showers this evening becoming steadier
into the morning, mild low sixties.
And then on Friday, mid sixties periods of rain, a rumble of thunder.
You just have to slow down your travel
and drive for the weather conditions that will be around.
The visibility could be low at times to can't rule out a spot shower
on Saturday, but big improvements otherwise into the weekend,
breezy and dry Sunday and Monday and turning cooler at times next week
with highs only down to near 50 by the end of the week.
