Hey everybody and happy Thursday.
It's meteorologist Erica Marusic with the latest
check for your forecast. It was very rainy to start the week.
Lots of rain showers on Monday,
Tuesday, Wednesday,
totaling about almost 1.9 inches in the Twin Cities metro. But now that
system has moved towards the east
and you have these two high pressure centers working their
way in. So these are going to dry things out
and also bring some cool temperatures. So cool
mornings on the way, but then a nice warm up by the weekend.
So it looks like temperatures
We'll be above average pretty soon.
For now though, temperatures cool and you have these clearing skies.
They're clearing from north to south. It was a very cloudy day though,
so temperatures were low 50s for those highs, still above average.
Low temperatures in the 40s, usually it's the 30s.
So all around above normal, not too bad,
but with the cloud coverage, it did seem kind of cool.
And also with your wind, too.
High temperatures across the state, 40s, 50s.
But check out the temperatures right now here
at about 8 p.m. on your Thursday.
43 in the Twin Cities metro and up north, a little bit chilly.
28 in Bemidji, also hitting at
27 in International Falls, 20s for Ely, too.
There's going to be more 20s up north.
And then here in the metro tonight, the low could be in those low 30s,
which is some of the coolest air of the season.
That wind moving in from the north is
bringing in these chilly temperatures
along with these clear skies.
It's allowing things to drop temperature-wise,
so we could see the first freezing temperature in the Twin Cities metro
either tonight or tomorrow night, which is pretty late for this season.
43 right now, your north-northeast wind light,
and the wind will stay light into tonight and tomorrow.
A couple chilly mornings, grab the jackets.
You might even want the hat and gloves
if you're going to be outside for a while.
But then it starts to warm up by Saturday afternoon.
So high temperatures get back to the 50s for Saturday, Sunday.
And then for your Monday, even talking low 60s possible.
So things starting to be a little bit above average
and temperatures stay mild after that.
And to Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, highs could be in the 50s.
Overnight tonight going to be right around freezing.
But outside of the metro, you might even be the 20s.
45 for the high tomorrow, some passing clouds.
And during the evening, temperature is 36.
The low drops to right around freezing again Friday night
to Saturday morning.
But then Saturday afternoon, that's when things start to warm up,
up to 53, even 57 possible on Sunday.
Lots of sunshine, which will be nice
because it's just been so cloudy this week.
And then it does look like clouds could return later next week.
But overall, they shouldn't really be bringing rain showers.
Looking very dry and after a nice warm day on Monday,
temperatures still stay pretty mild after that with highs in the 50s.
Have a great rest of your Thursday evening.
