To have a mixed subject channel achieve over 50,000 subscribers is phenomenal so I would like to reward as many subscribers as possible with........oh, nearly gave it away there. Now today is a marvellous day in my world,
because not only did myself and my two children
do very well in the karate grading earlier this afternoon,
I also surpassed 50,000 subscribers on YouTube,
which is a huge milestone.
I was actually informed that I'd passed 50,000 subscribers
by a good friend of mine, because I tend not to look.
But that's a pretty good milestone.
When I set the channel up years ago,
I never thought that I would get anywhere near there.
I mean, 100 was a marvellous milestone, then 500, then 1,000.
And then before I knew it, it was 10,000,
and I really haven't kept an eye on it up to this point.
And it's just gone up and up and up and up.
And it's all down to you, so thank you very much.
I will be uploading a very special video in the next few days
which will outline what I'm going
to do to celebrate that milestone
and I think you're going to be very pleased about it. Because
you have got me here,
I would like to give back and that's pretty much all I'm going to say.
So to each and every one
of my actively participating subscribers and viewers,
thank you very much for getting me to 50,000 subs.
I'd like to go beyond that, double it,
triple it. I know it's hard with a mixed channel but,
you know, it's doable in time and I really
appreciate everybody that watches the videos
and more so enjoys them. Obviously some people
watch them and don't enjoy them
but I'd like to think they were in the minority.

Now I'm the type of fella who likes to give himself a series
of challenges and goals and when I've achieved those goals I like
you
to move on to something else and the course of my YouTube channel,
if you've been with me since the start,
very
you'll notice it's changed quite a lot.
I started making pond videos, rapidly became more
much.
or less top boy for that, kind of dropped that a little bit,
concentrated on the aquarium videos, got right up there in that.
Then I started concentrating on metal detecting videos,
got right up there in that and now I'm
going to be concentrating on making outdoor videos.
I have flirted with that in the past,
I've made a few bushcraft videos
but I'm going to focus on pretty hardcore survival videos,
bushcraft skills and also wildlife videos as well,
recognition of different tracks and signs,
All sorts of things to do with the outdoors,
because that's the next goal I've got.
I don't want to be the most viewed person in the world,
but I would like to be up there.
So that's the direction the channel will be heading.
I'll still do a few metal detecting videos, obviously.
There'll still be a few cycling videos, fishing videos,
aquatic videos, because that is my trade.
That's how I make my money. I sell filter media online.
So there will be some filter DIY videos and also filtration videos.
But the main focus of the channel going forward will
be outdoor videos, because...
That's something I've neglected over the years,
and I really want to try and make up for lost time.
