Have you seen this type of question before?
Welcome back to my channel.
So, how do we find x to the power of 5?
Let's do it together, alright?
First of all, cross multiply.
So now we have x to the power of 2 multiplied
by x to the power of 2, right?
Is equal to 36 multiplied by 36.
But remember that a multiplied by a is a squared.
Okay, so it simply means that x squared multiplied
by x squared is also equal to x squared all squared
is equal to, now 36, now I'm simplifying,
so 36 is 6 squared and 36 is 6 squared.
We can actually write x squared raised to the power of 2 is equal to
6 squared raised to the power of 2 as well.
Now let's transfer this to the other side of the equation.
If we do that we have x squared raised
to the power of 2 minus 6 squared
raised to the power of 2 is equal to zero.

So, going further, we have an algebra identity
that says that a squared minus b squared
is equal to a minus b multiplied by a plus b.
So, in this case, our a is x squared
and our b is 6 squared.
So, let's expand it in this form.
We are going to have x squared minus 6 squared
into x squared plus 6 squared is equal to zero,
right? Now, this is still in difference of two squares.
It's still in difference of two squares.
So, we can now solve this or expand this in this form again.
So, we now have x minus 6
into x plus 6 into, then we have this,
x squared plus 6 squared is equal to 0.
Okay, what this entails
is that x minus 6 is 0,
x plus 6 is 0.
And x squared plus 6 squared is also 0, right?
Now, for this, if we transfer this to this side,
we have x equals 0 plus 6 and x equals 6.
This is the first value of our x.
Now, for this, we have x equals 0 plus 6 we cross
to give us minus 6.
So we have x equals negative 6
and this is the second value of our x.
Now for this,
if x to the power of 2 plus 6 to the power of 2 equals 0.
Now let's transfer this to the other side.
We will have x squared
is equal to 0 minus 6 squared.
So we have x squared is equal to minus 6 squared.

Okay, so let's take square root of both sides.
Take square root of both sides.
So we have square root of x squared is equal
to square root of negative 6 squared.
So this and this we go, we have x equals plus or minus.
Square root of 6 squared multiplied by negative 1,
right, because of the negative sign.
So, we can write x is equal to plus
or minus square root of 6 squared multiplied
by square root of negative 1.
So, x equals plus or minus, this we take square and square root,
we cancel out, and we are left with 6,
and square root of negative 1 is i.
So this gives us the third and the fourth value of our x.
