We've got a heavyweight tilt as the main event with Cortez Acosta
as a minus 225 slash 230 favorite, depending on your book.
Johnny Walker, you're thinking, Johnny Walker's not a heavyweight.
Yeah, he is now.
He was a light heavyweight, but he's moved up to heavyweight.
He won his debut at the heavyweight division.
So he gets Cortez Acosta.
He's coming off a couple of losses, but he lost to Volkov.
He lost to Blades.
You know, it's always tough laying a favorite in a heavyweight fight,
no matter who it is, actually.
But especially, you know,
when it's sort of mid-tier or lower-tier guys.
I would call these guys mid-tier guys.
What do you make of the main event here, Tom?
What's your opinion?
Yeah, it's a really weird main event.
We saw Johnny Walker make his debut in the heavyweight division
and just absolutely dominate.
You know, coming off of his last fight at 205,
that was extremely boring.
You know, one of the more boring fights
of basically a point-fighting match.
With Dominic Reyes where neither guy really was willing to strike
and Johnny Walker comes into his heavyweight debut
and you know goes forward lands a vicious knee and that's Johnny Walker
has you know good size he has size for the heavyweight division.
he's extremely chinny you know we've seen him knocked out quite
a few times in kind of funny
fashion like you go back and look
at the the johnny walker knockout reel and it's it's usually a meme
like it when he gets knocked out it looks like
that stuff it's i hate to say that because you
know the guy's getting knocked out
but um he's not he does get knocked out and it it looks
crazy when he does um you know cortez acosta certainly has
the power to put him out
And you kind of wonder, like, is Johnny Walker,
was his chin compromised because he was cutting weight?
Because he's a monster.
I mean, he's like 6'5", 6'6".
He is a big dude.
So he's probably cutting, you know,
he was probably cutting 25, 30 pounds to get down to 205.
So we didn't really get to see in his first fight how does he take
a punch at heavyweight because, you know,
he finished the fight pretty early.
Cortez Acosta is a guy that's, you know,
going to really test that chin.
Now, my question is here, like, you know,
Johnny Walker, we have seen him in fights where
doesn't want to get hit, kind of makes it boring,
kind of stays on the outside,
throws those leg kicks. Cortez Acosta eats
a lot of leg kicks, doesn't phase him,
but he does eat a lot of leg kicks.
So could this kind of be a, you know, where these two
guys stand and trade, you know,
from a distance where nobody's really landing a power shot?
Um, and maybe be, you know, be maybe a little bit boring,
both they're going to be standing
and they're going to be trading.
There's not going to be, I don't think there's going
to be any grappling in this matchup,
but I could see this one going a little bit longer.
I could see the first couple rounds being kind of ugly.
I like the over one and a half rounds in this fight.
To me, I feel like Walker's going to stay
on the outside. He's going to stay safe early.
Cortez Acosta is not a guy that kind of goes
crazy. We've seen him go three rounds in the UFC a number of times.
So when the knockout's there,
he takes it. We saw it a year or so ago, year and a half ago.
He was on a nice little knockout streak.
but you know for the most part of his career he's mostly stood
and kind of point fight it
and found his way to victory
so i think this one could the overs in this one could be interesting
i do like the over one and a half i do worry about
that johnny walker chin i mean you know
that over one and a half could go down in flames
but i could see these guys
kind of staring at each other for the
first two three rounds in this fight
