Calgary friends to split $90M win after largest lottery win in Canadian history

These friends, all from Calgary, are the winners of the $90 million Lotto Max jackpot. Adelson El Chico was the first to find out following October's draw. He says he woke up at 3 in the morning to get a glass of water and checked his phone. Yeah, yeah, I opened the website and then... It looks like it's real, and then I call everyone in the group. I thought it was a scam when I saw the email. I'm like, we definitely got scammed. So, yeah, it's pretty nerve-wracking and overwhelming. The foursome says they met about five years ago through family. The winning ticket was the first one they ever purchased together as a group. Velna Ramirez says she's happy she listened to her friends. It's a big chance to win a ticket for this kind of group, so let's try it. And then, yeah, we're here right now. As for how they'll spend it? Do you buy a private island somewhere? In a private jet? If I could. We can travel around the world. The winners said, all joking aside, the money will just make life easier. Helping your family, family back home. And maybe there's some people need help. We need to help children's hospital, like church. And despite each of them having more than 22 million extra dollars, everyone here said they plan to keep working, at least for now.
