How old were you?
18, I think.
Yeah, 18.
That's a couple of years ago.
My name is Bill Kinney, and today I'm 100.
Do you want to tell them happy birthday?
Happy birthday.
I was in the Army, 1945, 1946.
We were on our way to Okinawa for the invasion.
We had training in Texas.
So when they dropped the bomb, they called the invasion off.
The boat took us to the Philippines.
Thank you so much.
No problem.
Thank you.
We are at the Merchantville Community Center
and people are coming from all over to celebrate
this very special day for a very special man.
Dad went in the Army at 18.
Cheers.
Then he entered the Philadelphia Fire Department.
He worked for over 30 years for the city
of Philadelphia as a firefighter.
I was helping somebody
That's all. No regrets. No regrets.
I wish I could have done more. That's all.
You're only a hundred ones
In the late 80s, he was a security guard at Methodist Hospital.
I guess his favorite job of all jobs, though,
was being a father and being a grandfather.
You showed us what a lifetime of love looks like.
Now, he presently resides in Collingswood.
He is an avid Philadelphia sports fan.
He's faith-filled. He goes to church every week.
Thank you so much.
He's very generous with his neighbors and with his family especially.
His baby sister.
Baby sister.
We ask people, instead of gifts, to give a non-perishable item
to donate to St. Teresa of Calcutta's Food Bank in Collingswood.
And today we'd like to present you
with the Camden County Military Service Medal.
Thank you very much.
I don't know how to thank these people for coming for this, you know.
I wish they could live this
long. I wish my wife could have lived this long.
And I got all these people here to be thankful
to come out and celebrate with me.
All right, who's going to start singing for me?
Happy birthday!
And I'm invited back to my 200th birthday.
