BRAZIL — On Tuesday, October 27, it was reported that Brazilian Sen. Flavio Bolsonaro successfully fled Brazil mid postelection persecution by the Lula administration.

Federal sources have confirmed that Donald Trump and Argentina President Javier Milei aided in orchestrating the successful transport of the diplomat in a time-sensitive situation, according to Bloomberg.

Following the presidential election in Brazil on October 25, authorities demanded the confiscation of Flávio Bolsonaro’s passports for fear that he may try to flee the country. On Monday, October 26, Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes ordered Flávio Bolsonaro to turn in his passports within 24 hours after the order. This comes amid a current investigation involving money laundering and alleged corruption within the Bolsonaro family.

As a result, Bolsonaro reportedly define the Supreme Court order and crossed into Argentina before departing to the U.S. with the help of Donald Trump and Javier Milei.

Milei’s administration has denied that Flávio Bolsonaro ever crossed into Argentina at a port of entry. This raised questions among official due to the publicly close political relationship between he and Milei.

Donald Trump’s involvement included an announcement that stated plans to issue a U.S. visa and potentially grant political asylum to Flávio Bolsonaro as well as his family, which was later substantiated by a U.S. State Department official.
