🎉 Birthday Catch-Up in Thai Town Sydney 🇹🇭🍜 | Boon Cafe Feast with Friends 💕

This week was extra special. My friends Emma and Jared came all the way from Ballarat, Victoria to visit Sydney and we decided to catch up with some more friends. And guess what? It turns out May is our birthday month. Jane's, Emma's and mine. So of course we had to celebrate Thai style. We picked Boon Cafe right in the heart of Thai town Sydney. If you know Chat Thai you will love this place. It's by the same owner but more laid back with fast delicious Thai street food. And here's the coolest part. The lovely girl Fern I used to chat with at Chat Thai almost 20 years ago. She's now the manager here. Life really comes full circle. Not everyone knows what to order. I happily took the lead. We shared everything family style just like in Thailand. We had fried rice and Sukhothai noodles. Pad Kra Pao with 1,000 year old egg or Krapow Kai Yeow Ma. Crying tiger beef. Soft shell crab stir-fry with curry powder. Gai Lan stir-fry with crispy pork. Oh so good. We were busy eating and talking and having fun. And we couldn't end the night without Thai desserts. We had grass jelly with palm sugar. Lot Chong with coconut ice cream. Crunchy mock pomegranate in syrup with of course coconut ice cream on top. These are classic Thai icy treats. Usually for summer but perfect even on an autumn night after a spicy meal in Sydney. Thanks for joining us in celebrating our birthdays. It was such a joy to be surrounded by friends, food and fun.
