Hello, guys, welcome back to Arena's Radar.
Let's get right straight to the numbers today, because what we're talking about
is arguably the most consequential financial policy change
for American families in our lifetime.
We're talking about the one big, beautiful bill
signed into law on July the 4th, 2025.
It created a brand new tax-deferred equity vehicle called the Trump account.
And the adoption rate is unbelievable.
As of March the 31st, more than 4 million American kids are already enrolled.
Here's the exact data on how this works and why it's changing the game.
If you have a child under 18 who is a U.S.
citizen with a valid social security number, you can enroll them right now.
You just file IRS form 4547 with your 2025 tax return,
or you can go directly to trumpaccounts.gov.
These accounts officially open for contributions on July the 4th, 2026.
But there's a key distinction you need to know based on when your child was born.
If your kid was born between January the 1st, 2025
and December the 31st, 2028, the treasurer is dropping a thousand
dollar pilot seed contribution right into their account.
Out of the 4 million kids enrolled so far,
over 1 million of them are already locked in for that free seed money.
But what if your kid was born before 2025?
They don't get the government seed, but they still get access
to the most valuable asset in the world, which is the tax deferred time.
You can open an account for them and contribute up to $5,000 a year.
And for decades, the American wealth building playbook started
when you got your first real job at 22 and opened a 401k.
That system is good, but it starts too late.
These accounts start the clock the day you're born.
They take that massive 22 year gap
and turn it into the ultimate financial head start.
Today, we're going to talk about the math, the free market,
and what happens to a country when every single citizen
becomes a capitalist from day one.
Now hit that like button and follow our channel and let's get into it.
Let's talk about time.
In economics and investing, time is the ultimate currency.
If you're watching this, you're probably in your 20s or early 30s.
You know the drill.
You graduate, you get a job, and then human resources
hands you a thick package and they say sign up for the 401k.
You do it. It's smart.
But you're already 22 years late to the party.
America's wealth building infrastructure has always left
the first 22 years of a citizen's life completely on the table.
Think about it.
You have been missing out on the most powerful force in finance,
compound interest.
Let's use a metaphor.
So like building wealth in the stock market is exactly like rolling
a snowball down a long snow covered hill.
If you start rolling that snowball halfway down the hill,
which is, you know, what starting at 22 is like,
you'll end up with a pretty big snowball
by the time you reach the bottom at age 65.
It works and it's solid.
But what if you started rolling that exact same snowball
from the very, very top of the peak?
What if it had an extra 22 years of hill to roll down?
It doesn't just get a little bigger by the time it hits the bottom.
It's an avalanche.
The math here is absolute magic, and it's beautifully simple.
So the stock market, you know, the S&P 500 has a long term
historical average return about 7% a year.
And at 7%, money doubles every 10 years.
If you invest a dollar at age 22,
it has roughly 43 years to compound before you retire at 65.
But a dollar invested on the day you were born has 65 years.
The difference isn't just an addition.
It's exponential.
Let's look at the actual numbers for these Trump accounts.
The government sees the account with $1,000 at birth.
Let's say the parents never add another dime. Never.
That kid grows up, goes to school, gets a job and turns 65.
That single isolated $1,000
just sitting in American businesses untouched
is projected to be worth roughly $88,000 at retirement.
From $1,000, no financial advisors, no stock picking,
just the American economy doing what has been done for over a century.
Innovating, building and growing.
Now let's look at the absolute powerhouse scenario.
If parents max out the allowable contributions,
which is $5,000 a year for the first 18 years
and then the account converts to a Roth IRA when the kid becomes adult.
Wall Street journal analysts ran the numbers.
That account can accumulate over $2.7 million at retirement,
completely tax free.
This isn't complex derivative.
It isn't like high frequency trading.
It is just time and equity ownership.
But this isn't about personal finance.
It's bigger than that.
It's about political economy.
And honestly, it's about what kind of country we want to be.
Senator Ted Cruz, who was the architect behind this policy
that made this happen, said his goal was to create new capitalists.
Now, to a lot of young people, the word a capitalist
sounds like a guy in a tailored suit on Wall Street, right?
But that's a misconception.
A capitalist is simply someone who owns capital,
someone who owns a piece of the machine.
For a long time, too many Americans have felt disconnected from the economy.
Well, you hear the stock market is hitting all time highs,
but you're living paycheck to paycheck.
It's easy to feel bitter.
It's easy to look at a free market and think that doesn't work for me.
The system is rigged.
And when young people feel like they don't have a stake in the system,
they start looking toward socialism.
They start looking toward the government to just hand things to them.
The Trump accounts completely flip that script.
Well, you have a real equity stake in the American economy
from the first day of your life.
Your relationship to the market changes.
You aren't just an employee anymore.
You're an owner where you can pull out your phone at 18 years old
and see that you own a slice of Apple or Tesla or, you know, Amazon
or, you know, those very companies you buy things from every day.
You have skin in the game.
You understand that when American companies are free to innovate,
grow and generate earnings, your personal wealth goes up.
And this is the beauty of conservative economic thinking.
It shouldn't be relying on the government to take care of us from cradle to grave.
Look at Social Security.
Social Security is a government promise.
It's basically an IOU written by politicians,
and it is under massive demographic and financial pressure.
They can change the rules, raise the age and cut the benefits whenever they want.
But an equity account, that's a private property.
It is yours.
The government might, you know, plant the seed with that initial $1,000.
But the government does not control the harvest.
You do. And by 2024, we're looking at adding 20 to 30
million new investors to the market, 30 million young adults
who have been compounding wealth for their entire lives.
A country where every citizen owns a piece of the economy
is a country that protects the free market,
because when the market wins, they win.
Now, if you really want to know if a policy is solid,
don't listen to the politicians.
Watch the private sector.
Watch what companies do with their own money.
The private market's response to Trump accounts has been absolutely fire.
Why? Because the free market recognizes a good investment when it sees one.
Treasury just named Robinhood as the brokerage for this program.
Robinhood is building the app, acting as the trustee and charging zero fees.
No commissions.
The CEO said this is literally going to be the first investment account
for millions of people.
Think about the user experience.
You don't need to be a finance pro to understand it.
The app is being designed for someone who has never made an investment
decision in their life.
You don't have to make a decision because the rule deliberately restrict
the investments to broad, low cost U.S. index funds.
No crypto gambling, no day trading risky meme stocks.
Just a solid, stable bet on American business.
Companies like JP Morgan, BlackRock, NVIDIA, Intel, Uber, Delta Airlines.
They're already stepping up and saying, hey, if you're our employee
and you put money into your kids' Trump account,
we will match it up to $2,500 a year.
Jamie Dimon at JP Morgan said they're doing this to help families
plan for their financial future.
But let's be real from a market perspective.
They're doing this because they have to compete for the best talent
in the free market.
Companies compete for good workers by offering better benefits.
Matching a kid's investment account is going to become the new standard.
In a year or two, if a company doesn't offer a Trump account match,
workers are going to take their skills somewhere else.
That is the free market regulating itself and lifting people up in the process.
And we can't talk about the private sector without mentioning
Michael and Susan Dell.
They just dropped a $6.25 billion donation
to fund accounts for up to 25 million lower income kids
who were born before the 2025 cut off and missed the government sees.
Let that sink in.
$6 billion of private capital given voluntarily
to make sure millions of kids aren't left behind.
The government didn't ask them to do it.
They chose to do it because they believe in the thesis.
They believe that giving a child a stake in the market
is better than giving them a welfare check.
It's empowering.
So what happens next?
The launch date for these accounts is July the 4th, 2026,
the 250th anniversary of the United States.
That date isn't a coincidence, of course.
It is deeply symbolic.
What is more fundamentally American than self-reliance,
individual ownership and the right to participate in the prosperity of the public?
We're moving away from a system
where wealth is something you only think about when you're older
or something you expect the state to manage for you.
We're moving toward a system where capitalism is a birthright.
The biggest question left on the table for lawmakers is automatic enrollment,
because right now, you know, parents have to actively file Form 4547.
I mean, it's easy, but you still have to know about it and do it.
If we move to an automatic enrollment where every eligible kid is signed up
by default, unless the parents opt out,
this program goes from being great to being universal.
And that is the next frontier.
Look, we can argue all day about different economic theories,
but the 401k proved that when you give American workers
a tax-advantaged way to own equities, they build real wealth.
The Trump accounts take that exact same engine.
The private sector, the stock market, tax-free growth.
And they just start the engine 22 years earlier.
A thousand dollars at birth time on your side.
And this isn't a government handout.
It's an initiation.
It's a key to the greatest wealth generating machine in human history.
The American free market and a country where more people
actually own the economy is a stronger country.
It means more people have something real to protect.
Make sure your parents know about this and make sure your friends
with newborns know about this.
The clock is ticking.
And for the first time, it's ticking on our favor from day one.
Thanks for hanging out with me.
And make sure you hit that like button and follow our channel.
I'll see you in the next one. Bye.
