Trump Speaks to Press at Joint Base Andrews

Hi, Mr. President. This is one of the greatest fighters ever in the world. World heavyweight, light heavyweight champion and the heavyweight champion, Evander, the real deal Holyfield. And he came with us to the rally, and the crowd loved him. The crowd absolutely loved him. He's great. He's a real champ. It's good to be with you. You had a good time today, right? Yeah, a wonderful time. Do you think I could take him in a fight? I don't know. This would be pretty strong, but that would be nice. A lot of people would like to see me try. Mr. President, Senator Graham was on the plane with you. Did you discuss the Lindsey's sanction bill with her? And what did she tell you? Well, she thinks, everyone thinks I did the right thing because we're able to get a great person back. You know, we have the person that you'd call hostage or prisoner or whatever it is. But he's now just landed. And you couldn't have done that if you did what foolish people wanted me to do. And when are you meeting with him? You said he just landed. When is he coming to the White House? I think he's coming over the next day or so. Obviously, he just got out of prison. He was there for a long time. And now that- If you didn't want this person, whoever she is, why don't you take that light out of my face? I'm sorry, Mr. President. Mr. President- I'm sorry, Mr. President. I just was wondering if now that Stephen Hubbard released, do you think that you're- Well, we're looking at other things. We want to also settle the war, and we also want to keep it the way it is because Russia has not been involved very much, certainly in a very minimal way, with respect to Iran. What's the next step with Ukraine? Are you going to have the trilateral meeting? What's the status of that? I can't tell you that, because it's not just about that. That's about denuclearization, so it's not just about that. But we have a lot of steps, but I think it's the closest I've seen. You're seeing what I see, Jim. As an example, President Zelensky today, I think it's the closest I've seen to maybe working out a settlement. Why do you say that? Why do you say that? It's closest. I think they both want it. It's been a long time. There's been a lot of death. They're losing 25,000 people a month and even more than that, a lot of death. Had a very shocking response to reporters today when they asked her if she was married to her brother. She wanted what she said. She said, not to my knowledge. Not to my knowledge. That's not a good answer. That's an answer that a lot of us assume. Go ahead. President Trump, can you give us details into your conversations with President Putin that makes you believe that he can be a valuable partner for the hostage and he was very good on it. You know, we got a hostage. You didn't ask for anything back like, you know, normally with Biden or Obama, they end up giving back a fortune. He was very good about that. I asked him if we could have Stephen Hubbard back. He's been there a long time. His son has been campaigning to get his father back, which is beautiful. And he was very good about it. Are there more hostages you can get out? I think so, yeah. That'll come. A lot of things are going to come. And, again, we're doing very well against Iran. We have a little conflict against Iran. Iran, I think I'll send the Avengers the real deal over there, but we're doing very well militarily and financially against Iran. Is there any developments with those negotiations? I mean, are they ongoing with Iran at this, Iran? A little bit, but we'll see what happens. Are you over it? Are you over negotiating with the Iranians at this point? No, I think we're not negotiating with them. We are gonna have something one way or the other that'll happen fairly soon. Most people seem to think it's after the election, and we're gonna see what happens. But I will say this, what we've done with Iran is amazing. We've taken out the military, the Navy, the Air Force there, everything. They have no money. You know what they have? One thing, inflation. They've got the worst inflation any country has seen for 50 years. Thank you very much, everybody. Thank you, Mr. President.
