Girls Couldn't Vote

A hundred years ago, girls couldn't vote. Girls couldn't vote. We weren't allowed to vote. Seriously? They weren't allowed to do a lot of things the boys could do. But girls proved they were smart. Smart. Super smart. They were smart. And they proved they were tough. They were tough. Real tough. Tough as nails. And just a hundred years ago, this weekend. This weekend. Girls were allowed to vote in South Dakota. Finally! My great-great-grandma was one of the first to vote in South Dakota. Now a girl can even be elected governor in our state. The governor of our state. That's awesome. A girl governor. That's pretty cool. Wow. But we've never had a girl governor in South Dakota. Never. Isn't it time? I think it's time. Come on.
