Join me in my first ever successful ice fishing trip vertical jigging Lake Trout and Cisco in over 100 feet of water! This trip was a blast and I'll definitely be ice fishing way more in the future. Huge shoutout to Jim & Wild Bill for hooking me up and putting me on some awesome fish.
Don't jig that thing, just reel.
It's a whopping nine degrees fahrenheit outside. It is freaking cold. I'm going to be doing
something new on my channel that I've never done before. We're going to be going out ice fishing,
targeting some cisco and hopefully some lake trout. They've been getting some pretty big
lake trout recently. I'm going to be joining Wild Bill and one of his homies. We're going to be
going out and we should be jigging up these fish out of like 80 to 100 feet of water and these fish
are great tasting. So hopefully we can whack out a limit and if we do, we'll definitely be doing a
catch and cook. So be looking forward to that. Never done a video like this before on my channel
and also I just want to say if you guys showed any support on my last video, my phase one submission,
I know it's something a little bit different. Some of you guys might not really understand
what that is yet. It's basically this open recruitment challenge to join an organization
I've been grinding to join since I was a kid. I'll leave a link in the description below if you guys
want to go check that out, but I just want to say thanks again for showing all the love on that.
We are about to hit the ice right now, so let's get it.
What is this thing exactly? A tagadog. A tagadog? So it's like, it's smaller than a snowmobile, but
you can ride on it and just to like basically take all your ice gear out and that's what
that's what you do. I'm assuming I'm just going to ride in the back and all right. So we got this
one rigged up with a seat on it. Okay. See there's a couple other ones out there rigged up just to
It's pretty sweet. So we're sitting here vertical jigging at 112 or a hundred. Yeah. 112 feet deep
right here. Just had a lake trout come up, but I got the GoPro POV facing the graph. So if you
guys see anything coming up, I should get a good shot of it. There you go. All right. Good job.
Don't don't lift up like that. Just steady reel, reel, reel, reel, reel. Yeah. Don't
jig that thing. Just reel. Don't jig that thing. Just straight up reel. Cause otherwise you've
given them slack. They'll pop right off. No, no, no, no, no. We don't fight these things.
We just turn and burn. Get them right to the top and get down and get another one.
Nice. That one's gotta be the biggest one, right? That's a bigger one. Let's go.
They get a lot bigger. Nice. Yeah, buddy.
Nice. Sweet. Cool. Let's go. I got like three fish. I got a school of fish on me.
Oh, I got a school of fish. I got a school of whitefish on me.
Let's go, dude.
Working two rods. We got it. Let's go. What? Let's go. We got a Cisco.
Cisco, Cisco, Cisco, Cisco, all alone. Let's go. You'll know right away. There it is.
What does that feel like? That's a Cisco.
It's pulling a little hard. Oh, that's a lake trout. Let's go.
Pull and drag, dude. Let's go. Dude. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
It feels good. Is this going? Yeah, it's going. Oh yeah.
This was the fish I was talking about, man. All right. It feels good. Come over the hole.
Oh, I just saw him. Take a look down the hole. You see how your line's right on the edge there?
Yeah. Take your rod tip down. There you go. Awesome. Oh yeah.
All right. Oh, there he is. That's a good one too. Look at that.
Oh my God. Okay. Yo, yo. His head's coming up. His head's coming up.
Oh my God. He's right here. He's right here. He's right here. He's right here.
Nice freaking stalker lake trout right there. Probably a good solid 10, 11 pounder, man.
Nice fish. Freaking nice fish right there. Nice lake trout. What's on his back right here?
That is, that's a lice. Really? That's from when they get down,
get down deep. So this is our great lake sea lice almost? Yeah, that's exactly what it is.
That is so awesome. I'm so stoked about this. Sweet freaking fish, man.
Freaking nice fish.
Yo guys, if you want to see more ice fishing videos on my channel, let me know.
This is a lot of fun. I can see, I can see myself doing this a lot more.
This is a blast, man. It makes me think of like Uncaught Angling. He was doing this like years
ago and it was like so sick. Watching him pull those like 20, 30, 40 pound freaking lakers out
of the ice. Got a bunch of Ciscos. We're going to go get all these fish processed and then we're
going to cook them up. All right, let's get it. So this is the infamous crosses, huh? John Cross
Fish Market. Let's go. All right, cool. This is, I love this. The chum bucket. You just feed one
in right here and that just, so that was the descaler? What's that? That descaled them? Yep.
Okay. Ah, okay. Let's see. Is this your most common fish that you get processed in here?
The Cisco whitefish? Yeah. This time of year from guys out on the ice. Yeah.
What's the most fish you've cleaned in a day? By hand? Yeah. 5,000. 5,000? Oh my god.
Killer. Thank you. I appreciate it. You too. Let's go. Thank you guys. I appreciate you.
Good people. Love it. This is sweet, man. Got the whole operation back here. All right.
Oh, you're good. Bill knows everybody. What's going on here, man? He's like,
oh yeah, just go back there. Oh my gosh. I love it. Appreciate it, man. Thank you. No problem.
Oh, okay. We got the batter situation back here. I see. Just struggling with corn starch and batter.
All right. Yeah, I don't need no crazy secret recipes, man. Just filming some cool stuff.
I couldn't tell you anyways because then I'd have to cut it. That's right.
Actually, we're getting along pretty well right now. How long you known Bill for? Oh, forever.
Forever. Yeah, forever. Yeah. Raised in the same town. You know everybody. Yeah. I've been here
ever taken them fishing, Bill? No, I don't have time. He's always working. All right. All right.
Sweet. 41 years. 41 years. Jesus. Started in 1981. I got 36 years on the river. Yeah. He's got you
beat. He's got you beat back here, man. We're so busy. I told him I'd only work weekdays.
Because on the weekends, they'll have 36 people out there. Oh, really? Yeah. Wow. He does 36 himself?
Yeah. Well, not himself. Well, he's got three teenage boys working with him. Oh, my gosh.
That's why I say I like the weekdays when I only got three, four chains.
That's kind of nice to have a life on. Yeah, exactly.
Plus, you work seven days a week all summer. Exactly. I hear you. Where we're at,
especially if we're short staffed. Nice back in the day when we had a lot of people.
Oh, my gosh. Heck, yeah. Yeah, let me try a piece of that walleye, too.
All right. All right.
Just tasting fresh ones here. It's got to have a little bit of lemon, too.
Man, I haven't had good fried fish in so long.
I used to go up to Canada all the time with my dad and my grandpa.
We'd catch fresh walleye. We'd just catch something like this within an hour.
All right, here we go. So pretty hot.
Is it going to be good? That is insane.
And it's not commercially harvested? No, this was swimming around two hours ago.
It's going to be a pretty sweet video.
All right, man. Thank you. We'll make it happen soon. All right. All right, man. Take care.
All right, guys, that's going to do it for this video. I'm halfway through my drive home right
now, and I am so exhausted because I woke up at 4.45 this morning and I am taking a nap. I have
to. I'm pulling over on the highway. I'm taking like an hour nap and driving another hour and a
half, two hours home. So hope you guys enjoyed. If you guys want to see some more ice fishing
videos, let me know in the comments. But if you want to help support the video, leave a like,
comment, subscribe. Love you all. Thanks for checking the video off. Deuces.
Just want to give a quick shout out to Fishwood Jim Outfitters. He was the one that put me on
all the fish in this video. He's a really cool guy, and I'm sure we'll be fishing again down
the road. But he's a year round guide service. He does a lot of trolling for salmon. He does
float trips for steelhead and brown trout. And obviously he does a lot of ice fishing with some
cool equipment to get you out there. Give his website a look. He catches some very credible
fish and I'm sure we'll be out fishing again in the future. I'll have all his information
linked in the description below.
