Thanks for stopping by! My name is Shari Franke, an 18 year old teenage girl just trying to get through high school! 😂 Join along for all of my and my family's crazy adventures.
Good morning, you guys.
Today, I am filming my room tour
and I am really, really excited to show you.
So, let's just get right into it.
Right now, I'm in my bedroom.
I share with a really, really sweet girl.
She's not here right now.
I'll try not to show a lot of her stuff,
just out of respect for her, but let's get started.
So, this is my bed.
I literally have to have a little stool for it
because it is really, really high off the ground.
Like, I had to run and jump into bed the first few nights.
But, I have my bed, I have a blanket at the end of it.
I have a lot of pillows.
On the dresser here, I have a handkerchief
just because I get allergies at night.
At night, I have a pocket knife.
Just in case, I like to kind of have that,
especially since I'm on ground level.
And it's Provo, Utah,
but you still never know what might happen.
I have some ChapStick, a scrunchie, a water bottle.
I'm reading Les Mis right before I go to bed.
I do wanna find a lamp that I can put right here
because in my last dorm, we had a light switch
that we could just turn on,
but there is no light above my bed.
So, I don't wanna have to get up
and turn out the light before I go to bed.
So, I'm gonna find a lamp with a DI, hopefully.
And then, I got this plant the other day.
It's called, I think, Black Rabbit Foot Fern
or something like that.
It's like a rabbit foot fern.
And it looks like it has scary tarantulas coming out of it.
They say it looks like rabbit feet.
I think it looks like scary tarantula.
But this plant is just so wild.
I love it.
And it does really well in not a lot of sun,
which is good because this is a north-facing window,
which means that we don't get a lot of light.
We do have a pretty view of the mountain.
It's kind of covered in clouds right now.
But this is really helpful,
just so that my plants all don't die from lack of sun.
And then, this dresser, I have the bottom three drawers.
So, in here, I keep my pajama pants and a few shirts.
In here, I keep my workout shirts.
And in here, I keep leggings and shorts.
Okay, and then, under the bed.
So, down here, I have my underwear and socks.
I have some just like spare bags and stuff back there.
I'm actually not really sure what's in that box.
I think just like spare paper and cords and stuff.
I keep my protein powder under here.
And then, I keep my laundry basket under my bed.
This is so just cliche college on cinder blocks right there.
The girl who was living before me here,
she had a support cat
and they didn't vacuum up the hair very well.
And so, there's a lot of hair behind the bed
that's really, really gross.
And we don't have a vacuum with a hose on it.
So, I'm gonna need to figure that out.
And then, here, I have my table stand.
I have a diffuser, my jewelry, just some bracelets,
a picture of Christ, my wax melter,
since we can't have a candle.
And then, the cord situation was very interesting.
So, back here, I have for my bed,
like this, I don't know if you can see it,
this cord box.
And then, that has an extension cord that runs over here
that plugs into here.
And I have another extension cord that runs up.
So, it's a little much.
Then, for my desk, I have books and letters and scriptures,
my humidifier, my handkerchief, my camera,
mirror, spare water bottle.
And then, here is usually where I'll keep my sprouts
during the day.
I'm gonna get an herb garden soon.
So, that'll go here.
And then, I had to order these LED lights from Amazon
to help supplement just because they don't get a lot of sun.
And then, up here, I have succulents.
I think this is a Mexican snowball.
This is a jade plant.
And it's done really, really well in the sun already.
Like, it's grown a ton already.
And I have a cactus.
And I don't remember what this is called,
but it should sprout yellow flowers, hopefully.
And then, I have, like, perfume.
This is a snake plant.
It does well in not a lot of sun, which is good.
And a picture Julie got me for Christmas that she drew.
Statue of Christ, pretty box.
And then, down here, well, right here,
I have, like, my calendar.
These are, like, my vitamins and allergy meds.
I made this cross-stitch.
You saw me get it in my last video.
It's super cute.
And then, I have my fan.
Rubik's Cube kinda does stuff.
This, I kinda just got it at, I wanna say Hobby Lobby,
and then just stabbed a bunch of, like, holes in it.
And then, in here, I have my, it's an extension cord,
so it can hide kind of the ugly extension cord look.
And then, here, I have, like, nail polish,
ChapStick, stuff like that.
Here's also kind of a mess, lotion and stuff.
Here's just, like, extra cords.
I got a garbage can.
And here is also just kind of extra stuff.
I don't have a ton of school supplies right now
because all my classes are online,
but when school year starts,
I'll definitely be needing more room for school supplies.
And then, also, I got this embroidery piece at Walmart,
and then I finished it the other day, and it's so cute.
It's definitely becoming a hobby of mine.
And then, up here, I have my shoes that I'm keeping.
I have, like, my shirts and my dresses.
And I keep my pants up there.
It's not the best spot, but I don't have a ton of pants.
And then, kind of, my craft bucket, washcloths,
just kind of random.
And I still have some, like, snacks.
I have, like, my medicine and scrunchie box.
Kind of just, like, extra food down there.
This is what I put my plants in when I water them,
just to let them drain out.
And now, on to my bathroom.
It has been so nice to have, like, a bathtub
because I really loved to take baths when I lived at home,
and I haven't been able to for, like, a year.
So, the shower curtain is pretty cute.
This is my shower caddy I have.
So, just, like, shaving cream, razor, comb,
stuff like that, and then body wash and face wash.
And then, this is my side of the counter.
It's a little messy.
I might need to get an organizer.
I have just my toothbrush, some hair products,
random stuff.
And then, under the sink,
this is kind of, like, our cleaning bucket.
And then I have, we have, like, period products.
I found this at Target, I believe, or Walmart.
It's just Epsom salt, like, melatonin salt,
which is good for baths, hair products,
and then these bottom two drawers are mine.
So, I have, like, hair clips, cotton balls, and comb.
Here, I keep, like, my makeup and spare toothpaste
and Q-tips and stuff.
So, now I will show you guys the kitchen.
There are two other girls that live here as well.
They have kind of the same layout.
On the other side of the living room,
we won't show you theirs just because that's not my space,
but I will show you the kitchen.
This is my room that I just came out of,
and now we are in a big living area.
So, first, some of my roommates have some plants.
This is, like, a solar light they keep.
We kind of just keep fruit up here sometimes.
The countertops are super nice, and I really like them.
We have some dishes we need to do.
There's a Bosch mixer,
and this door is kind of, like,
the Wi-Fi, like, water heater area, I believe.
I'm not gonna show you the fridge
because it has, like, phone numbers and stuff
of people in our ward,
but we have a very crowded freezer,
and our fridge.
This is, like, my food area.
It's, like, right here.
We have a microwave, water heater, toaster, blender,
a little stove that's so old
it doesn't even have, like, dashboards right here,
and then in here we have dishes.
Those are mine on, like, the very top,
so I always have to get a chair to reach up there.
Here is our, like, kind of shared spice cabinet.
Here's just, like, cooking utensils,
kind of pots and pans.
Those two are mine.
Over here we just kind of have some seasonings, hot pads.
This is kind of, like, our parchment paper, medicine,
and then over here all of our roommates
kind of have our little stuff,
and the bottom one is mine,
so it's kind of a mess,
and I need to get some organizers,
but it all fits in there.
We have a dishwasher as well, which is really nice,
and then we come into the pantry,
which has some garbage bags, vacuum.
I have my blender I keep down there,
and then this row is mine,
so you can kind of see what I have.
Of course I have to have my favorite granola.
I have some nuts, some seasonings, bread, peanut butter.
I don't have a ton of stuff
just because I'm going to D.C. in a couple of days
for, like, a week, and so I don't want food to go bad,
so I try to not get a ton the last time I went to the store
just so nothing would go bad,
and then from there we come into here,
and we have our big living space,
so we have the couch, hammock chair, our lamp.
I like to do homework on this couch
just because my feet can stretch out and reach straight,
so I've been doing some homework.
We have kind of our mail here.
They just installed this TV, apparently,
like, in the last year, and it's been really nice.
We got crumble the other day, so it's sitting here,
and we all just kind of grab little bites of it
when we go out.
It's a really quaint, just cute little place.
I really like it a lot.
It doesn't quite feel like home yet
just because I've only been here, like, a week,
but hopefully in the coming weeks
it will start to feel more like home,
so thank you guys all so much for watching.
Comment down below what you do
to make your place feel like home,
especially if you're a college student.
For me, getting plants has helped a lot
to make it feel like home.
Cooking has helped.
But what do you guys do
to help make your place feel like home?
Thank you all so much for watching,
and we'll see you next time.
