Well it's a new day Today we're going to leave the entire Senja area and return to the Tromso area
Today is going to be a bit intense Yesterday after the treks I didn't record much more because we just went to eat
We ate a hamburger and fish and chips which were okay
Then went to the village of Senja Hoppen which is on the way to our hotel for coffee and a dessert
Because they treated us great The people running that business really nice people treat us great
They gave us a lot of conversation And nothing else we spent some time with them really well
Tell us a bit about the lifestyle here in Norway
They told us some interesting things like for example that when we stop somewhere on the road to take photos
We always turn on the emergency lights And that's not possible here
Well if you turn on the hazard lights in Norway it's because something's wrong you have some kind of problem
Then that's why local people's cars would stop to try to help us
And we thought he was the judge because he was helping us you know I mean were taking photos
And it was the emergency lights So just turn on the turn signal on the side you're on
Just to say hey I'm parked here for a few minutes and that's it nothing's happening to me
So keep this in mind because even if the police see you they could give you a fine or a warning
Usually a warning they'll comment on it and that's it Because if you're tourists well you'll understand
But just keep in mind that it's not like other places
And now after breakfast at the hotel and having packed everything up the plan is to return to the Tromsø area
Then for this when we came here we came by car which is about three and a half hours
Depending on the conditions there is a ferry that connects Somarøy the part that is a bit further north of Tromsø
Where were those days with Bodnaten who is here in this area of Senja
This ferry takes 40 minutes instead of 4 hours by car So it's a big time saver
The thing is we didn't pick it up on the way because I had read when I did research on this
It was only open in the summer And yesterday the man from the bar where were told us that this was the first winter
It was the ferry line that was open So as he warned us and thanks to him thanks from here
I know you're watching this video so let's take that ferry back
From the port of Bodnaten I'll give you the name of the place later to the area of Somarøy
Then we'll save a lot of time and have a new adventure
It's like taking a ferry here in Norway to see what we can see in the sea views and such
That's it it's a short one so it doesn't have much else
And as the penultimate stop of the day especially in the Senja area before taking the ferry
We are in the village of Husøy a small fishing village on this side
It's a tiny island that connects to this artificial bridge this artificial road that has been created here
In fact it acts as a breakwater to slow down the sea a bit
It's a very beautiful little town especially the views from above are very nice
It smells a lot like fish All these small towns usually live mainly off fishing
From factories from what is then the processing of the fish and so on
Then well you'll notice it by the smell but it's really beautiful
The truth is that it's very very beautiful and plus there's no one
That is these towns seem like ghosts
from the ferry that will take us to Svaloya on the other side in the northern area of Tromsø
So nothing else 45 minutes by boat and we'll see how it is
20-30 euros so good not bad
Above all because of the time you save as you save four hours of driving the other way
So nothing else just for that it's worth it
We went to Tromsø after taking a walk around the area we had already visited to the north of the city
And nothing else we're just taking a drive because in the end we've saved about three hours by not taking the car on the ferry
Well we're taking a daytime walk around Tromsø since we saw it at night the other time
So nothing else we're visiting some spots to also see the atmosphere
Today Sunday there's quite a bit of movement in general also from cars
A lot of people come skiing from all over Norway and the Nordic countries
They really enjoy visiting this area of Tromsø because it is one of the best places for skiing
Because in countries for example like Finland they also have snow they have the cold but they don't have mountains
Then there is a lot of ski tourism
In fact at the airports there is a lot of people coming with skis in their bags for that to come to this area
That's why there's so much activity around these dates especially on weekends when Norwegians also move around taking the opportunity as well
And at 4:30 in a little while they will come to pick us up here in Tromsø
We have an excursion or whatever you want to call it and that is that we are going to stay overnight at an ice hotel
You heard correctly I don't know if you've ever seen it but it's an activity that isn't very common because the truth is it's not very accessible
But anyway it looks really good and as a way to complete all the activities we're doing in the area it's going to be one of the more original endings
And that's basically it I'll show you as we go along it's a hotel made entirely of ice at least 600 square meters of hotel made from ice
And we will complete it with other activities that can be done in the area such as having dinner in the forest and so on
But I'll show you as we go right now it's 4:30 they're coming to pick us up and we'll go 75 minutes into the interior of the country into the mountains where we'll arrive at the hotel
And once you cross the Tromso bridge the large one with a pyramid shape so that large ships can pass through obviously there are only two main points to visit
One is the Arctic Cathedral this one behind me and then there is the cable car a cable car that goes up to Fjallhäusen Mountain
It's located at the very top and offers beautiful views of Tromso both by day and by night so it's best to do it on both occasions
