Hello, hello Nissan fans. We're back with another video. Today I'm presenting to you
the gorgeous 2022 Nissan Altima Platinum right outside of St. Catharines Nissan in Niagara,
Ontario. Let's check it out. My name is Christopher. Welcome back to another episode of Cars Unlocked.
The Nissan Altima Platinum has an MSRP of $36,498. This is the top model. We did the
Midnight Edition. Now we're going to get into the creme de la creme here. And let's check out this
front end here. Now the Nissan Altima really set the tone for this nice large and low
V-Motion grille that you're starting to see on all the Nissan models. Nice large V-Motion grille,
fog lights, LED Nissan signature headlights. You get the auto on off, high beam assistant,
and then you have the forward sensors here right on the front end. And this one comes with
everything that Nissan has. Things like Ford emergency braking with the protection detection,
you have the intelligent cruise control, you have the pro pilot assist, which is going to help when
you're on the highway and help with those long drives. Let's take a look at the side profile
of the flagship sedan here. This one comes in the gun metallic exterior color. I love the chrome
handles that you get with this mirror accent as well. Bringing your attention down to the
rims here. This one comes with a two-tone 19-inch aluminum alloy rims, front and rear disc brakes.
We have our Altima and Platinum badging. And then what they added in 2019 is the all-wheel drive.
So this one is going to come all-wheel drive. One of Nissan's only sedans that's all-wheel drive.
Favorite thing about the Altima, I personally own a 2014 model and I love the size of the trunk.
Look at you could probably fit like five dead bodies in there. I would think maybe six depending
on the size of them. Super large trunk, perfect for your cargo. And then you have features like
backup camera and rear parking sensors. My man behind the camera, Sam, just told me how he likes
the seats in the car. Upon first glance, they are super nice seats. With this Platinum, you get
this lovely two-tone leather with the white stitching. And you have the Nissan Zero Gravity
seats. So they're great on long drives. Every customer that sits in this car comments to me
about how comfy the seats are. And I don't even have to mention it to them. Now you have things
like power adjustable driver's seat with two memory positions. It's heated seats in the front.
And then you have the heated leather wrapped wheel. Push button start is going to come with
the remote starter. So great for the winter time. And let's start it up and check everything out.
On the business end of things, this is what we got going on here guys. Nice wood trim throughout
the interior. That just comes only in this Platinum. The other models have the graphite interior.
And then in this one, you get the large screen. You have a nice eight-inch touchscreen. And it does
have this kind of tablet-like look to it here. You get things like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto,
which you can connect. The Nissan Connect services system you can use as well. I've done a full
tutorial on my channel, how to connect to Android Auto and Apple CarPlay in this car. So if you're
having trouble, I'll link those videos in the description below for you. Automatic temperature
control. It's great on a day like today. If you're hot and your girl on the side wants to be cold,
you can adjust. There's a dual zone temperature control system. USB ports as well. Still an AUX
input, but you can just use Bluetooth to play your music, things like that. Universal garage door
with the home link is up top here. If you want to sync your garage door opener. I've also done a
video on this. If you guys want to check that out, I'll link that as well in the description.
But why I can't wait. Let's take this thing for a drive and see how it drives. Let's talk about the
drive of the Altima. Now, I am a big fan here. I want to give you guys a disclaimer because I'm
super excited. You can hear my voice. I actually own a 2014 Altima and I love it. Definitely love
how it drives. And these new ones are just even better. It's such a smooth, accelerating vehicle
from zero to a hundred. It just accelerates so gradual and so smooth. You don't feel any kind of
lag or kickback when it accelerates. And that is the advantage of the CVT. My Altima has about
115,000 kilometers on it. I haven't had any major mechanical issues. I know you guys are going to
roast me right now for saying that, but I'm living truth. And I have a lot of customers who have
Altimas that have 150,000, 200,000 K and they haven't had any transmission issues or things
like that. So say what you want about the reliability, but I have been very content
with the cost of ownership of my Nissan Altima. But let's talk about this one. It's a 2.5 liter,
four cylinder engine. You get the direct injection gasoline. You get premium Bose audio sound
speakers in this platinum. And then you have features like street sign recognition. You have
this six inch multi-drive assist display, digital speedometer right behind the wheel here. The pro
pilot assist is phenomenal. Like I say that in all my videos, I love turning the pro pilot assist on
anytime I'm on the highway. And it just makes it a little more relaxing ride. And you feel more
confident as you're driving on the highway. Heated steering wheel, heated seats, and you have
the electric parking brake with the auto hold. So especially here in Niagara, if you're maybe
waiting for a boat to go through the canal, you can use the auto hold parking brake instead of
shifting to park. Coming out of this four cylinder is 182 horsepower. So you've got a ton of power.
You can put it in sport mode if you want a little more acceleration. And for fuel economy,
we got 8.1 liters for every hundred kilometers combined. Or for all my US friends, that's 35
miles per gallon. So you guys comment if you have an Altima, what do you guys think of the
fuel economy? What do you think of the drive? Have you had any issues with your vehicle? And
let's put all these naysayers in the comments to rest. If you guys have had an Altima comment
below because all I get on my channel is people saying how the Altima is not reliable. But that's
how the internet works. If someone has a vehicle and they love it, they have no problems, they've
driven it, they got their money's worth, they had a ton of value. They're not going to go on the
internet and post that and say how much they love it. They're not going to write on forums about how
much how great the car is. However, it's only until they have problems that you start seeing
the negative reviews and people start posting. So that's your little PSA from Cars Unlocked.
Keep that in mind while you're car shopping. Most people only really post bad reviews. People don't
post good reviews when they're happy. So keep that in mind. Whether you're buying an Altima
or you're buying a different car, while you're shopping for cars, make sure you take the reviews
kind of take them with a grain of salt sometimes because nobody posts good reviews. And we can find
any single car that's on the road right now and we can search and find bad reviews for them. So
as you're car shopping, definitely recommend reading reviews, but take them for face value
and make sure you understand that there's not a lot of people posting good reviews. So thank you
so much for watching the video guys. There's a quick little rant for you at the end. Comment
what you think of the Altima. If you're new here, subscribe to Cars Unlocked and we'll see you in
the next video.
